Derek-

This is it! I’m finally opening my own bistro. I’ve spent the last two years getting ready for this moment. I can’t decide if the holidays are the perfect time to begin a new venture, but I’m excited. It would be nice if my family were on board too.

Gabe-

I play water polo. I don’t know anything about the restaurant business, but I want to make sure Derek’s grand opening goes according to plan.     I’ve enjoyed all the books I’ve read in the Out in College series, but Derek and Gabe have a special place in my heart since they were the first we met in this universe. Having a couple continuation stories following their paths as they continue to pursue their dreams is fantastic. As always, the smooth writing, sweet characters, and obvious connection come through making for an enjoyable read.

    Gabe and Derek are a fabulous couple and I really enjoy their personalities and support of one another. If you’ve followed along with the Out in College series, you’ve had the chance to see Derek’s bistro come to life. However, in Out for the Holidays, we get the opportunity to witness it in real-time and it’s great. The Olympics moment for Gabe in Out for Gold was amazing. I loved seeing Gabe achieving his goal and was so happy that a conflict that started in Out in the Deep finally saw a satisfying resolution. These two short stories together definitely made for a cherry on top of Gabe and Derek’s happily ever after.

    I loved Gabe and Derek when they first got together, but seeing them continue to succeed in love and life is wonderful. If you enjoyed this couple and their story, I’d highly recommend spending a bit more time with them in Out for the Holidays and Out for Gold.

    I absolutely loved being able to revisit with Gabe and Derek! These two are some of my very favorite characters that Lane Hayes has written. Reading their story stories put a giant smile on my face! It was great seeing how each of them made their dreams happen! I loved getting glimpses of some of the other guys we met in this authors Out in College series. It was like hanging out with great friends! If you’re a Derek and Gabe fan, this is one not to be missed!

    I loved spending more time with Gabe and Derek, who we first met in Out in the Deep, their enemies-to-lovers love story! These two are the sweetest and I was so happy to get a glimpse into their lives, post college.
    Out for the Holidays focuses on Derek and the start up of their new bistro, while Out for Gold follows Gabe on his quest to make the Olympic water polo team.
    On top of trying to get the bistro up and running, coaching and preparing for the Olympics, Derek and Gabe were both dealing with parental issues. Derek's mom and Gabe's dad are very similar, thinking they knew what was best for their sons, and kind of trying to steamroll them. I loved how supportive Gabe and Derek were with each other, when it came to their parents.
    Their relationship has only strengthen over time and it was wonderful to see!

    These two stories were so sweet and left me with a great big smile on my face!

    Did not think it was possible but Ms Hayes made me love Gabe and Derek even more than I did after reading their original story!
    In these stories not only do we get , what seems like a deeper love between them, but also hot sexy times, happy times and difficult times.
    No worries, none of the difficult is between our boys. Together they help the other through the difficult things. Support and love always makes things better.
    We also get to see some of the guys from previous books, which I always enjoy.
    In a nut shell, if you can't already tell from this review, I absolutely adored these two short stories.
    I must confess I thought , in each story , one person needed to be smacked around but...nope not going to tell anymore. 😉
    Must read in my opinion.

    A great way to round off my favourite couple from book 1 of this series. Gabe and Derek are clearly made for each other, supporting and cheering the other on through the next stage of their lives together. Family can lift us or drag us down and both MC's stand up to the challenges 'well-meaning' family throw their way.
