    Writing this on Ernest Hemingway's birthday, I'm reminded of this statement he made:
    "All good books are alike in that they are truer than if they had really happened and after you are finished reading one you will feel that all that happened to you and afterwards it all belongs to you: the good and the bad, the ecstasy, the remorse and sorrow, the people and the places and how the weather was. If you can get so that you can give that to people, then you are a writer.”

    I threw myself into reading this, the second in the promised Out of the Box series, without having read the first novel. In the best way, it felt like diving into a long-running daytime drama: a light, engaging, escapist story with humor, heart, and heat (oh, yes--prepare to be wowed!). Theriot introduces dozens of characters, with just enough characterization to get the reader on board, without bogging down the story line. Enough references are made to previous events to indicate what's already in progress. These people belong to me, now.
    Olivia is evolving--coming to peace with wrongs done upon her, availing herself of new experiences, and finding her voice. This message resonates with every woman, especially those of her generation who are so woefully underrepresented in literature, especially Romance.
    Ash Harper, Liv's white knight, fits the role while avoiding cliche. Without suspecting anything too nefarious, we get hints along the way that Ash's whole modus operandi has not yet been revealed. This creates just enough intrigue without overpowering the plot. Primarily, we're happy that, whatever he does for a living, it allows him to shower Liv with the devotion (and opulence!) she's lived without until now.
    Fans of the first novel will be pleased to know that we get plenty of Todd O'Malley and his antics in this installment, as well as new challenges and opportunities for the band, Avenue. Interwoven with the rest, we also follow Liv's expecting daughter in Houston, giving Liv the chance to revisit her old stomping grounds. All of this is set against the story of Ash's newly engaged son, Tommy, and Emily, the wife-to-be, as they plan their wedding.
    Whether you pick up this novel or its predecessor, you're in for a great read!

    I just love this Series. I have laughed, cried, this family just grabs your heart. I was hooked from page one and had a hard time putting this book. I really hated to see it end.

    Olivia was one of my favorite characters. She was so real and easy to relate too. She loved unconditionally, and not just immediate family but her friends, step-children, really anybody she came in contact with. She was so caring, kind, compassionate, thoughtful, supportive, understanding, really she had a heart of gold.

    In this book, Olivia is finally divorced from her lying, cheating husband of 30 years and has moved on, starting a life with her future husband Ash. Olivia has 3 grown kids and Ash does as well. She treats all 6 like they are hers, she is not only a mother to them but a mother/friend to their friends, girlfriends, husbands. Really there are all like one big family, blood or not.

    Ash' s son, Tommy is part of a band but even those men are part of a rock band, they all were charming, sexy, caring, protective, supportive, loyal. In this book we get to see more of Todd which I loved. I instantly fell in love with him, I mean really what's not to love. Todd and Tommy are best friends as well as rock band members. Todd's sense of humor had me laughing out loud throughout the entire book.

    This book has it trials that the entire family has to go through but it has its ups as well. Which is one of the reasons it's so easy to relate too. Nobody in either book is perfect, they make mistakes, life happens but how they rally together touches your heart. This is easily a series I could read over and over and one I highly recommend!

    Olivia and Ash are in their late 50s to early 60s. They are lively, fun, caring, and have HOT sex. They are caring parents, soon-to-be grandparents, and surrogate family to Todd, the tatted rocker, and assorted other people. This story works on so many levels.

    There is Olivia's ex and what an unexpected turn in that story. Then Todd is hiding a secret that just might end his relationship. Then Ash gets the best birthday present from Olivia. Just when I think I know what to expect, Jennifer Theriot throws a curveball with a cliffhanger ending. I wasn't expecting it, but I am ready for more. I'm not ready to let go of these characters yet.

    This can be read as a standalone, but for full enjoyment, I'd recommend reading Out of the Box Awakening, too.

    When you are younger and you see the older generation showing affection, you have that moment when you think, ‘Yuck, they still can’t be having sex at their age.’ Well yes they can and with this story that’s what you get, an older couple who love each other and have an amazing sex life. Olivia and Ash are so good together, the love they share shines through the pages. And I only hope that when I’m there age I’m still having as much fun as they are. This story revolves around Ash and Olivia and their extended family. Olivia still has hang up’s from her past marriage and her ex-husband does cause a bit of angst between her and Ash. But Ash (be still my beating heart) is understanding to a point and helps her in so many ways. He is just so kind hearted the way he treats Olivia is just so heart-warming. The story is also about family and what you will do for each other. Olivia seems to be the person everyone goes to with their problems, I don’t blame them as she seems to know the right words to say and we all need a friend like that. I love Todd his nature is good but he takes a lot on and his relationship with Olivia helps him. It’s a friendship so strong that I can’t see it every being broken. The author sets the wedding scene of Tommy and Emily beautifully, I really felt like I was standing there watching them getting married. And I will admit to welling up at that scene. And then we come to the end and I’m like WTF you can’t end it there I need to know what happens. What is that damn secret? So I will be eagerly awaiting to find out what happens next for Olivia and Ash.

    They get together n live a beautiful life with both family!
    But their r some obstacle n drama threw it but everything works out at the end.
    Still finish with a cliffhanger but I'm sure it will workout on the final book.

    I was given this book free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.

    I read this series back to front after getting the last book in the series before any other. This doesn't ruin it though as all can be read as stand alone books, but I did buy the first just to see how it all started, then I re read the second and final book.
    I loved them all, this book was focused more on the whole family and them building their relationships along with his son and the band and how they build in fame. As with every book from this series I couldn't put it down, I laughed and cried which I'd never done until I read the this series, but again I found myself crying whilst reading it. It's got such emotion in it you get drawn in and feel it with ever turn of the pages. You will the characters on right through the book which is utterly brilliant, I couldn't put it down ignoring everyone in the house from start to finish which was gone 3 in the morning!
    I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone that loved a romance book, the only thing I would say which is what I've said with every book from this serious is its very raunchy and sexually explicit, although this really doesn't ruin the book in any way you come to expect it and enjoy reading it.
    It's a series I'll read again and again over the years and won't get tired of it.

    The book starts following Ash Harper's proposal of marriage to Olivia. We follow through the story-lines centered around them and their families. Olivia bumps into her ex-husband, experiencing a mix of emotions, and continues to enjoy a passionate, if at times tentative and exploratory relationship with Ash, sometimes letting herself go, and other times still inhibited, as in the use of sex toys. Tragedies befall members of their families, and, in Olivia's case, her ex, and they share each other's burdens selflessly and lovingly. A story full of surprises, tension, and, above all, persistent optimism and belief in each person's potential for love and empathy. And not to forget a no-holds-barred description of the main protagonists' unabashed and fully-explored sexual adventures. Not to be missed.
