    I enjoyed this book, while it’s a step away from what these two authors usually write, I found the change refreshing. The characters are haunted by their demons and focused on revenge, while others are simply trying to survive.
    There are secrets aplenty, betrayal, loyalty, bonds of friendship, and holy cannoli plenty of steam! This is definitely a book to read when it’s cold outside. I look forward to seeing what the rest of this series brings.

    I know the authors tried their hardest to inject tension into the relationship with a conflict between Mirabelle and the captain, but they made him so unlikable and took his actions so far, that his redemption was unbelievable.
    Each character had believable motivations, but you don’t just let go of a lifetime of abuse and resentment in an instant. I don’t want to give away the plot twist, but it seemed forced and I did not believe the genuineness of the relationship after the severe abuse that preceded it.

    It was fun to read a book that ones was just a book in another story. I really appreciated that.
    The bad guys turned good and loving. The prisoner changed into a willing partner in bed and outside, all due to love.
    A real adventure with pirates and treasure hunting and damsel in destress. And then they lived happily after.

    So excellent. Again, an awesome story, with fabulous sex, strong hearty men and an intelligent strong woman who captures their hearts. two pirates, one hostage. Revenge is the key and it has blinded them so wrapped in their need they don't realize what they are doing until it is almost too late. When betrayal sets them on a new course, greed, love, revenge and family take on new meaning.
