About the author

I love writing every day and the result so far is four mystery series, and counting. I’ve been retired from teaching for a couple of years, and am totally immersed in my new career as a mystery writer. I hope you enjoy the results!
New in Spring 2023! The Elk Ridge Murder Mysteries follow Inspector Hilary Casgrain in a sensational new crime fiction series! It's a spinoff from my most popular books, the Port Alma Murder Mysteries.
The longer Poodle Versus… series is a reader favorite. Small-town action, zany characters, and a Nasty Small Poodle will capture your heart in these cozy mysteries.
The Murder In Season trilogy features injured detective constable Claire Beckett.
The Free Prequels to all my series are available on my website, AnneShillolo.com.

People are protesting the rodeo and Zara and her staff are there for an interview. One of the rodeo employees is found dead in a stall and Zora starts investigating the death. Her wedding is coming up will the weather cooperate or not? Will they find out who the killer is? I love this book. You will have to grab the book to get the answers. It kept me guessing until the end. A lot of twists and turns, and I love the prince.
Grab this book you will love it.
Anne Shillolo you did a wonderful job on this book keep up the great work. Can’t wait for the next book to come out.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2022I have read all the books written by Anne Shillolo and have enjoyed them all but the SNP stories have been my favorite series! The "Rockinator" is hilarious. I love the author's personification of her sassy sleuthing poodle. The crime solving is entertaining and has an innovative approach via running a small town weekly newspaper. Don't this fun series! Book 11 is in the works and I am waiting with impatience!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2021I have read all of the books in this series and this one does not disappoint. I love all of the characters and the stories. They are very well written and, of course, I love the poodle. I liked that he had a little more of a role in solving the murder in this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2023Another adventure for Zora, her reporters and her poodle Rocco. A rodeo, a murder and a wedding are the highlights in this book 9. Humorous events that are videos of Zora in her adventures had a touch of down home laughter as well. The reader will long remember this book after reading the last page.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2021The rodeo has come to Williamsport along with a murder and other strange happenings. All during the week before Darias and Zora are to get married! This was an exciting book that I could not put down until the end. I hope there will be more books to follow in this series. I have read every book and loved them all, but this one is my favorite.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2021It is two weeks until Zora's and Darius' wedding. Marley has everything in hand, but Zora is still nervous. Darius' family are arriving soon for the wedding and Zora has not met any of them. A Rodeo has come to town and Zora, Bradley and Olivia are there listening to the owner give his speech about how safe it is. There are also a group of protesters as well. Zora and her two reporters follow the owner into the barn where the Rodeo ladies are going to bring the horses out for them to see. However, when the stalls are opened, instead of the horses there are chickens, goats and a pig which escape. In the ensuing melee, Zora gets stuck on the back of the pig as it tries to flee. The owner is livid, but when checking the other stalls she finds the body of the daily manager of the Rodeo. Unfortunately, the sheriff Arnie arrests the Vet who had an argument with the dead man the previous evening. The Vet, Jeff is Marley's male friend and she asks Zora to find the real killer. Zora, with the help of Rocco, Bradley and Olivia, soon find the missing horses and the sheriff returns them so the Rodeo can go on. Zora also finds the rustlers, who unfortunately saw nothing except a luxury car at the fairgrounds when they took the horses. Can they find the killer before someone else is murdered and before Zora's and Darius' wedding?
I am voluntarily reviewing this book after receiving it free.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2021Anne Shillolo is a master of creating fun characters who are amazing at solving mysteries.
A rodeo is coming to Williamsport, but not everyone is happy about that. A group of protesters are trying to prevent the rodeo because they say that it is a scene where animals are injured and mistreated. When Zara and her reporters go to check things out they find that the rodeo horses have been stolen and replaced by goats, chickens, a mini pony, a cow, and even a pig! In one of the stalls, however, a dead body is found. Where were the horses taken? Who stole them? How were they moved without being seen? Who is responsible for killing the rodeo manager? Will the rodeo even take place? There are many twists and turns and even some red herrings that keep you guessing.
This is a delightful book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There are several humorous scenes that will make you laugh. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery. I have enjoyed all of Anne’s books and look forward to the next one.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Poodle ..... not really Nasty.
What a great series. As usual, this story is well written, easy to read, and very entertaining. So good to be able to follow the people, and area, through their lives. A bit of everything in Anne’s stories. Mystery, mayhem and romance. As usual I await the next book in this series. Recommend this Author highly. In all her different series. Well don Anne!
