Chana Studley has written an engrossing novel with a depth of understanding that will unleash your own insights bringing enormous hope for all.
Painless, is a must read for anyone experiencing physical or emotional pain, regardless of age or circumstance.

We love stories. We read novels. We go to movies. We daydream, and create stories of our own. This is the way we connect with other people. However, we can fall victim to our tragic stories. In Chana's first book, Deborah let go of her trauma story and continue to lead a fulfilling life helping other people to find their purpose. She went on to discover that not only mental, but physical suffering also originates from our thoughts!
It may seems a bit far-fetched. Modern science had made so much progress, yet most diseases are still idiopathic, which is a polite way to say "we have no idea". How can the answer be so simple?
For hundreds of years, scientists cut bodies, look into the microscope, study molecular biology and conduct research projects. People are so desperate to find the answer to why people become sick. After all, no one want to get chronically sick. Ironically, when the human mind is in play, we cannot expect to find it from dead bodies or test tube experiments. We are missing out an essential ingredient if we do not understand how people's thinking, beliefs would affect their illness.
I appreciate Chana's attempt to bridge the huge gap between a perceived scientific subject of illness with a spiritual aspect of Thoughts, Consciousness and the Mind, ie. the 3 principles. During my medical education, I have often came across the biopsychosocial model of disease. But we are actually always looking at the biology, and never understand how the psychosocial part can contribute. At best, doctors may say "You are under so much family, work, financial stress. No wonder you have anxiety and stress illness. I feel sorry for you. Let's talk about your situation and you'll feel better." And go on giving a pill for every ill. We do not know any better.
Now here you have it, so witfully laid out in an intriguing novel by Chana Studley! The psychological is even more important then the biology part. Because it is how we can change the biology. Just by understanding how the mind works. It does not matter what you think. It is the fact that you think that matters. We said knowledge is power. Descartes said "I think, therefore I am". It's only part of the story. We are not our thoughts. We have our innate wisdom and we can tap into it whenever we need.

Chana Studley, hasdone a great job with "Painless". Chana has referenced allthe big names in Pain Science and has managed to integrate theirideas in both an informative and easy to read way. "Painless"is inspiring and a must read for any health practitioner interestedin chronic pain.

"Chronic pain is an invisible and insidious condition that wreaks havoc on your emotional and psychological state. You live in a whirlwind of pain, worry and vigilance. On a good day, you're wondering how you can keep smiling and stay alert for a day in the office. On your worst days, you're not sure you can make it to the shower.
And what's more shocking is chronic pain impacts 2/5 UK adults, with similar figures reported in other countries.
Painless is a story of the freedom that can be found despite your pain and in many cases, this same freedom is the path to reducing and even eliminating symptoms. With wit, clarity, hard science and a lovable cast of eccentric characters, Chana Studley expertly addresses the common misunderstandings around the cause of chronic pain and the road to healing. Time and time again she demonstrates how a never ending list of tools, techniques and specialists often exacerbate our pain. She guides us to realize how a true understanding of the human experience will mean you can weather life's inevitable storms and access your innate health, resilience, wisdom and peace. It is from this space that healing and recovery are possible.
I consider it vitally important that this message of hope reach sufferers, their loved ones and medical professionals around the world.
Flick Hardingham, Chronic Pain at Work Consultant."

In the 1980s after 3 very violent attacks, Chana Studley suffered severe PTSD experiencing years of debilitating anxiety and stress. “It was like my brain just blew a fuse and everything went quiet.” Following this remarkable transformation, she trained to be a counselor and has spent the last 30 years helping others recover from trauma, chronic pain, and anxiety. Chana has worked with all kinds of clients, adults, and children who want a deeper understanding of their own experience.

Alongside her counseling career, Chana worked in Hollywood for 20 years creating special effects in major movies and gained an Academy Award as part of the team for the movie Babe.

In the last few years, she has become a certified Life Coach, a World Health Organisation Psychological First Responder, and a Three Principles Practitioner. As well as coaching and mentoring people all over the world she offers a transformational Program helping people with chronic pain. https://www.chanastudley.com/painless

Chana discovered that by turning her experiences into novels she can reach many more people. “The common theme in all my fiction is seeing situations where people have been told there is no hope or they will be coping for the rest of their lives while other people are making big money from their misery. There is always hope, there are many alternatives and there is a deep well of health and wisdom in every one of us.”

Painless is a work of fiction that is full of insights and lessons, especially if you experience chronic pain. While I had heard of some of the concepts mentioned in Painless, things became very clear. Painless is a beautiful story with a message of hope. Chana lays things out in a step-by-step fashion that had me saying "Aha" again and again.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has chronic pain. I also suggest that you read it more than once, to let things sink in. You’ll see more each time you read it!

Painless is a book I will definitely recommend to my clients who struggle with stress, anxiety and pain. It is a good story and pleasant to read, but most importantly, it builds and transmits a powerful message about the relationship of thought to pain and all life experience. Chana succeeds in wrapping a profound psych-bio-spiritual understanding in a good read that anyone will find accessible.

I was skeptical that a book could help, but I do believe it did. My back pain improved after I read this and also "Healing Back Pain" by Dr. Sarno. "Painless" holds your interest because it is written in novel form. In this way a lot of great information makes its way into the story. It helped me realize in my case the pain was a signal. I'm going to read it again.

I saw so much more about the role that thought plays in our experiences after reading this book. It's not the content of our thoughts that matter so much as recognizing that we think. Profundity in simplicity. This is a must read for anyone looking to experience life more....just more...especially if you are experiencing chronic pain and even if you are not.

Recently, I picked up Chana Studley’s book, Painless, as I found myself once again trying to figure out how to remedy another round of chronic health symptoms. Painless became a kind of reference handbook for me, guiding this latest journey of experimental exploration. It felt like a force within me wanted to really see once and for all what was creating what, how much I really had on my thinking about it all. I wanted to see how much truth there really was between the vague diagnostic labels I had received and correlating symptoms like shortness of breath, fatigue, or brain fog. So I did a bunch of self-test, checking and measuring my symptoms against different foods, supplements, and activities. At the end of the day I really couldn’t find much of a correlation between my symptoms and the variety of external events.

As I opened and closed this book, Painless over that week, I deepened this experiment with my own insights and shifts. These experiments gave me more permission and a kind of easy bravery to trust what I had felt and seen numerous times this last year around these Understandings. I would have an insight, then open the book and read about that happening for a character in the book. I felt like the unfolding adventures in the fictional character’s lives started to became my own in some way. As the week carried on, I started to take my hands off my thinking around my health more and more, and very quickly I felt a ton of energy come back into my body, my sleep got better, the shortness of breath went away, and more importantly a newfound Joy started bursting into my daily experience of life. This to me is a total miracle, and how fun was it to have the lovely Chana Studley’s amazing book, Painless by my side through this latest opening.

Explains the 3Ps via a well written story, the characters have insights which illustrate the ideas first suggested by Sydney Banks. This book helped me understand how my thoughts work in a more engaging manner than the numerous self-help text books I've read. All Chana's books are easy to read and the messages in the stories are obvious but not contrived. Highly recommended.

Chana Studley performed a little miracle here: she created a fun and easy to read novel that conveighs the most insightful information on chronic pain. I've tried many techniques for pain management during the last years and I read countless books on chronic pain, neuroplasticity, Mind-Body-Connection etc. I found a lot of good information but still there were some 'missing links' for me - some things didn't add up and the techniques mostly didn't seem to work for me. In reading Chanas book I experienced a lot of 'aha' moments, things became more clear and made more sense. I felt like I'm finally gaining a true understanding of where chronic pain is coming from and why it seems to be so relentlessly resistent. To me the pain became less mysterious and less scary, and anyone who learned a bit about the role of the autonomic nervous system in chronic pain will know, that being less scared is pretty much the best thing that can happen to someone in chronic pain... I can highly recommend this book!
