Peas, Carrots and Six More Feet: A heart-warming and poignant British comedy novel (The Peas and Carrots Series Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 514 ratings

The bad news: The Sibley family will never be the same again. The good news: They are far from alone.

In the wake of devastating loss, Eric Sibley's world has shattered into pieces he's not sure how to put back together. But grief has a funny way of bringing people closer, and the quiet Sibley household is about to become anything but.

Between unexpected houseguests, dramatic family revelations, and a home suddenly bursting with both tears and laughter, Eric finds himself surrounded by more support than he ever imagined—some welcome, some decidedly not, and some involving lifestyle choices that Suzy would have raised both eyebrows at.

Could a house full of chaos be exactly what a grieving family needs, or will Eric's attempt to rebuild their lives prove to be his biggest challenge yet?

A touching and uplifting story about healing, hope, and finding joy in unexpected places. Because sometimes family is what you make it, especially when you need it most.

Again I highly recommend reading this series. I laughed. I cried. A really good book to me is when I get totally lost in a book, where I feel as if I am a privileged bystander watching everything unfold in the story right in front of me as it happens. This latest in the series produced that exact affect, just as all of the others. The characters are completely real, imperfect as in real life. They are woven together perfectly. I don't want to give away the story in my reviews. I don't like those details on reviews I read. It spoils something for me. I see another book coming in this series as it left me with wanting it to go on more. I hope the author is working on just that right now! I will definitely be first in line to order it. I can't wait to read her other books now. I love her writing style! Highly recommend! Read the whole series in order, you will not be able to put any of them down and you will want more!

I read the three book series, and honestly wish the continuing books were in the offering. Hannah Lynn's characters literally jump off the page. Really like her writing.

The Peas & Carrots series is very different from my usual reading fodder - I'm mostly a detective fiction girl - but I'm so glad I stumbled across it. For all you hopeful authors out there, the free days on Amazon sometimes bear fruit. Having got the first in the series free, I then bought the two sequels because I enjoyed it so much. The slightly awkward, inhibited and accident prone hero, Eric, thoroughly engaged me. His desire to control everything and the internal struggle he experiences as life happens to him in unexpected, humorous, touching, catastrophic and agonizing ways, had me smiling, gritting my teeth, and weeping with him. He's doing his best to be a good person who is there for the people he loves, despite his inner insecurities and turmoil. It is some time since since a book/series has moved me as much as this one has.

All three of the Peas &Carrots books were fun to read. Too bad you left us hanging with the name mystery at the end...

I loved the characters in this series. The stories were great. The story lines were well written and thought out. The only reason that I'm only giving this book and the series a 4 out of 5 is that that are not stand alone stories. You have to read the next one and the next one and now I have to wait a few months for the next book in the series. I'm thinking that I don't want to keep spending money on a series that may never end no matter how much I loved it.

While still good, the lack of connection to the garden plot was very much missed. It should have been a bigger part of the healing process.
Will give the next one a chance.

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.

This is the third book in the Peas and Carrots series. It is not a standalone book and ends on a cliffhanger. In order to truly enjoy and understand the characters of this series, you need to start with Book 1 - "Peas, Carrots, and an Aston Martin." I highly recommend the entire series.

Coming off the cliffhanger from the end of book 2, I was surprised by its outcome. Now Eric, his daughter Abi, and his mother-in-law Yvette have to struggle to put their family back together. This was written in a very real and touching manner that absolutely broke my heart. But, not only are they dealing with a loss, they have to deal with Yvette's husband's infidelity at the same time. While the humor is definitely still present in this third installment, this one, for me, was more emotional and more raw for the Sibley family. Highly recommend!

The narrator, Rafe Beckley, is the same narrator for the entire series and is perfect in conveying the pain and humor in this installment.

4.0 out of 5 stars life continues after Suzy's death

The start of the book is very sad with Eric very emotional and not function at all. Yvette and his friends do their best to help him getting back into a more sober life. One day there's a knock on the front door and things change dramatically in the house. Eric has to cope with the visitors. Also Eric learns a few secrets that Suzy had kept to herself, some of them he finds hard to desal with. By the end of the book his life is in a much better place. I have now read 3 books in this series. The second one is definitely my favorite . I now look forward to the next book and would recommend this series to other readers.

I totally loved this book! It completely broke my heart then microwaved it back together again. It's tribute to Hannah Lynn's skill as a writer that I've read the three first books in the series one after the other, something I never usually do. Needless to say, you should definitely give this series a try.
