Peas, Carrots and Lessons in Life: A Feel-Good British Comedy About Second Chances (The Peas and Carrots Series Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 441 ratings

The good news: Eric's finally mastered country life. The bad news: He needs a job, and fast.

When former London executive Eric Sibley decides to try teaching at the local school, it seems like the perfect solution. After all, how hard can inspiring young minds be? For a man who is more suited to the boardroom than the classroom, it's about to get very educational indeed.

Between unruly students, bewildering bureaucracy, and a bank account heading toward zero, Eric's peaceful country life is once again teetering on the edge. His family may have found their rhythm, but his career is hitting all the wrong notes.

Can he find the path to fulfilment in classroom of chaos, or will Eric learn his hardest lesson yet?

Perfect for fans of witty British fiction and anyone who knows that sometimes the best teachers are the ones who have the most to learn.

I have read all four books in the Peas, Carrots series. The characters are human: flawed, caring & loving. But they are unique and each grow as Life happens. I have found the novels poignant, humor filled and sweet. Perfect to read and enjoy. I hope you enjoy these well written and thoughtful novels.

I’ve read this series from first to last. Can’t wait for the next book. I read a lot of series and this was the one of the few that characters and story lines evolved with great writing. Only reason not 5 stars is too much gurgling gut feeling gets very old.

What a story. All so typical of all our lives but as soon a tragedy strikes we are there to help. Even in the plots to be taken care of. So human you'd think he was writing about you. Laughter and sadness go hand in hand.

Another step continuing the adventure for Eric, Abbey, Mabel and Yvette. Eric has made many changes in his life over the last year and in the last book and this one. He is meeting new people and finding out new things about himself in the process. He also has faced some hard choices in the last book losing Suzy his wife but also found out a hidden secret his had now he must decide if he will keep it like her has been or will he let the "cat out of the bag" . I can't wait for book#4 so we can find out what happens with Callum, the girls, Yvette and Chad's relationship, will Eric actually start dating as he agreed be or not, what will happen at the school next year with the ENC's budget and gardening plot, will Abbey continue to try and set Eric up with her teacher? All these will hopefully be answered in it. Great book as usual! Thank you Hannah!

Everyone struggles at some point in life. Sometimes, it is the support and/actions of just one person that makes a difference and gives you the courage to carry-on instead of turning away.

I had waited patiently for this book to be published to find out the next adventures in this lovely series. I was gripped from page one and was disappointed when it ended as l just wanted to keep on reading! If you're new to the Peas and Carrots series, read them in the correct order to get the full picture of every cringe-worthy, sometimes emotional, lots of laugh out loud episodes, (l got a few funny looks on the train!) that the main character goes through. Another brilliant book Hannah. More please. 😄

Another great addition to the Peas & Carrots series. This one's full of laughs and some genuinely heart-warming scenes. Particularly liked Donna's 'This is bollocks' mishap, and the three tonnes of horse poo :)

Brilliant. I have read all 4 of the series and looking forward to the next one coming out.
Light, easy reading, and at times so funny. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Only one moan, it could be better proof read before printing.
