4.6 out of 5 stars 1,888 ratings

Shot at the garden party...

Though Julia South-Brown knows the imminent sale of Wellington Manor means everything to her father Brian and his wife Katie, the process hasn’t been all sunshine and roses for the village of Peridale. James Jacobson, the cutthroat property developer interested in the manor, also wants something else . . . to turn Peridale’s library into a hot new restaurant.

As clouds both literal and figurative gather on Peridale’s horizon, Julia’s caught in the middle. Is it possible to successfully play both sides? Can she save Peridale’s beloved library while also helping Brian and Katie secure the sale of the property that’s been weighing them down and draining them dry for years? The task might be daunting, but a little impossibility has never scared her off before.

Of course, there’s also the small matter of a garden party and a gun . . .

A FUN British village cosy/cozy mystery packed with HEART, HUMOUR, FAMILY DRAMA, and plenty of TWISTS and TURNS! The 23rd book in the BESTSELLING Peridale Cafe Cozy Mystery Series. Standalone but will be enjoyed more as part of the series. A cat loving and cafe-owning amateur female sleuth set in a small village setting with quirky characters. No cliffhanger, swearing, gore or graphic scenes.

Agatha lives in the North West English county of Lancashire with her two cuddly beagles and one cat.

When Agatha isn’t writing, she loves reading head-scratching mysteries and thrillers, coffee, baking, and exploring her local countryside on long dog walks.

From a young age, Agatha devoured the great British murder mystery books and television shows, ample inspiration for her Peridale Café and Claire’s Candles series. She loves writing about family women who juggle their ordinary village lives with the challenges of amateur sleuthing.

Add in some good food, close friends and family, cute pets, and plenty of twists and turns, and you have a classic Agatha Frost mystery.

I've now read all the books in the series from 1 through 23 and I love how the characters develop over time. However, for the last two or three volumes I have had great difficulty reading. At random points throughout the stories, it suddenly jumps to the last page with the stars for evaluation. I would like to know if there is something wrong with text I downloaded or if there's something wrong with my Kindle. AMAZON!! Can you help me here?

"Raspberry Lemonade and Ruin" is the latest in the series featuring Julia and her family and friends. Like the rest, it's an enjoyable read with twists and turns but always true to the characters and town they love. It's been a delight to see Katie's development and growth as a person, not to mention how her relationship with Julia evolves and grows stronger as the series continues. over the years. I won't detail the plot, others will, but found it an interesting read. Julia is surrounded by interesting characters, many of them family, and that is what keeps me coming back, however, as much as the story. Eccentric as some appear, they come off as real folks and make me think that as much as some might annoy me at times, I'd thoroughly enjoy having them in my life. Give it a read! I'm already looking forward to the next book!

Twists and turns, as any good mystery should have. I always judge a book by the characters (and of course other things, but this is important for me). And they are wonderful. Very nicely done!

Marvelous mystery! However I enjoyed the underlying theme that doing what you love is priceless! I wanted to be a teacher since I was 6 years old. After a lot of studying and hard work, I got my degree and got to live a dream everyday when I walked into the classroom. After 32 years, I got organ damage from COVID and had to retire. Now I can read each day and have time to reminisce of living a dream.

If you like mysteries you can solve, then come along and join the Peridale gang as they ferret out the bad guys, you will thoroughly enjoy the ride!!

The Peridale Cozy Mystery Series gets better with each new book. This book has a lot of character and relationship development, as well as adding to the history of Peridale itself. It features one of the “side”characters in the series, along with Julia. It was wonders to learn more about the other character. I hope Agatha Frost keeps writing stories that feature the “side” characters. It adds depth to the series.
I’m already looking forward to the next book! This is my favorite cozy mystery series!

Number 23 is even better than I expected! The Peridale Cafe Cozy Mystery series is always a guaranteed great read.

Fabulous characters and a well crafted whodunit make this book a true joy to read.

Although the mystery and whodunit is always well written and filled with twists to keep me guessing, it is the development of the characters over the series that keeps me coming back.

I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait to read the next one!

Refreshing that the plot is not just another murder mystery, the twists and turns keep you guessing. Looking forward p the next adventure in Peridale.
