I absolutely love the Notorious Devils and Men of Baseball series by Harley so I jumped at the chance to read this new book!

I felt so bad for Jessa and even got aggravated at her during times she was dealing with her boyfriend Trent. However the situation she was in with her mother helped give insight to why she felt the obligation she did.

I fell in LOVE with Cole from the beginning! That man is my new book boyfriend. Now if you have issues with an older man and a younger woman this book may put you off but for me it just made it so much better.

If you are a Kristen Ashley, Lani Lynn Vale, Aurora Rose Reynolds or Harper Sloan can then you will devour Harley Faiman's books!

**ARC provided for honest review. However I also purchased because I fully believe in this book and the author deserves her money.***

    Some spoilers throughout............

    Pros:

Jess was a great heroine as the story progressed. She was only 18 but she matured well throughout the story dealing with her baggage.

Cole was😍😍😍. A strong possessive hero who takes charge and goes after what he wants. I loved how he talked everything out with Jess so we don’t see many of those dumb misunderstandings that are always thrown into romance these days.

The sex was explosive. Amazing chemistry 🔥🔥🔥🔥

HEA✅ and beautiful epilogue as well

    Cons:

What was the deal with John? Did not see that friendship going in that direction. This kind of came out of nowhere and left me a little confused.

While Jessa did grow a backbone towards the middle of the novel, the first 30 percent was rough. The abuse she put up with from Trent was ridiculous and she was just going to let that be her future😞

The sex😲😲😲. I know I said the sex scenes were amazing and they were but.......there was just so many of them! I felt like every time they had a conversation they ended it with some sexual act. It just didn’t seem genuine to the scene itself. Not to mention do you know how hard it is to grab someone by the waist and pull them on your lap in a car? It’s not near as easy as writers want you to believe. A lot of obstacles and awkward movements if you ask me.

I would have liked to see some final scene with Trent. After everything was said and done I almost expected her to get a letter from him or something. Are we supposed to believe he was always this psycho. I was thinking he was a selfish kid hyped up on roid rage. Would he not have any remorse ( or a conscience) even years later??

Overall I really enjoyed this couple and was so happy that the author did not make us go through a separation so that one character could spread her wings. I’m so over the self sacrifice bs.

I’m a sucker for an age gap and this was beautifully done. This book had angst, suspense, and lots of steam. I LOVED Cole’s alpha attitude when it came to Jessa and swooned every time he called her baby 🙌🏼

Can’t wait to read the next book in this series

I wasn't a huge fan of this book. It was well written, there were just some things that made me have a hard time with it. One is the age difference. While 20 years difference might be fine at certain ages, it just seems to be way to much for an 18 year old. 18 is still a child. Second was the way Trent treated Jessa. He was so ignorant and demeaning, and not in a domineering way. If it were a dom/sub story, then it would have been expected, however it wasn't. She let him abuse her, because she thought she owed it to his family. Third was how touchy/feely Cole was from the start. in my option, that is unrealistic. He's a college football coach, he would have been more worried about getting caught and getting fired. However, this won't deter me from reading this author again.

***Don't base your reading or not reading on my review. This is just my PERSONAL opinion. You may end up loving this book!***
