Play You: A Second Chance/Single Dad Romance (Rebel Ink Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 1,680 ratings

I hated to play her...

But she left me no choice with her betrayal.

Star-crossed lovers doesn’t even begin to describe what happened seventeen years ago when I fell for the one girl I shouldn’t have.

The forbidden. Our Rival. My enemy.

Piper Collins.

She was perfect, despite her family name. Too good to be true... too bad she was a snitch.

Planted to infiltrate our club. I guess ripping my heart out was just a bonus.

And when the truth was discovered, her and her family were dealt with in the only way my father knew.

I buried my feelings, knowing I’d never see her again.

But as I try to set my daughter on a new path, I walk straight into my past, and find myself face to face with Piper.

And when I did, it all came roaring back. The love, the hate.

She played me, and it was time for my pay back.

Because now, I have a game and she’s the perfect pawn.

Single Dad angst & finding lost love
~ My Review ~ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “As it was always meant to be.” ~ Dawson Pipers voice rings in my head ~ “He’s going to ruin you, break you, and then spit you out.” I loved reading Play You: Rebel Ink #4 ~ It took me longer than normal to read an I think it was partly because I have loved these characters so much an I knew it may be the last in the Rebel Ink guys so I read slower and soaked each word up as much as I could. I’ve been wanting to hear D’s story for so long, I wondered why he was always the quiet one, an why the one with secrets ~ we saw little bits here an there but when we finally busted him wide open I was blown away with the amount of love, loss and hate he had gone through. Dawson’s heart may have always belong to Piper but I can see why he was harsh in the beginning when she appeared in front of him like a ghost yet those walls crashed soon after when she showed him her love was always there. I loved how he tested her an pushed. Piper ~ well what can I say about her, she may have lost it all at eighteen but she never lost that drive to become the woman she knew she wanted to be. Running back into her first an only love may have been fate but she knew she had to go very slowly with D. She may have knew what buttons to push but he also knew the same ones for her. These two characters together make a great team and then you add in Dawson’s daughter Emmie an you have the family dynamic that you just know will be in it for the long ride. “To the future, family, and the love of my life.”

These guys at Rebel Ink all have some interesting lives and are serious alphas! The women in their lives are strong, can hold their own.

Dawson is the quiet one in the group, loves the guys but keep his past to himself. Play You is Dawson's turn aka D and what a story! It will definitely have you turning the pages.

Play You is a: revenge - second chance and single dad romance! Dawson and Piper were a couple when they were teenagers but circumstances lead them to separate. Now seventeen years later they meet again and it is quite a shock for the both of them. The chemistry they had as teenagers is still there, along with some angst, betrayal, tension and extra steam.

Play You also introduces Emmie, Dawson's daughter who at sixteen is now living with him for the first time. Dawson as dad is another layer to this man that is exciting to read.

Can Dawson and Piper have a future together or will their past still be an issue? I think in this series Tracy Lorraine has left the best for the last! Dawson is a complex character and absolute joy to read about!

    Reasons I enjoyed this book:

    Action-packed

Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Page-turner, Steamy, Wonderful characters, Unpredictable

    Wow.
I can't believe that was the last Rebel Ink book. It's bittersweet, really.

These guys and their boss chicks have found a way into my heart and I'm sad to let them go. Knowing that Emmie has a book coming lifts my spirits a bit.

When I first read the blurb for this book I knew it was one that would hook me straight away - and I wasn't wrong.
Dawson and Piper were an amazing read.

From revenge, to real, to the end.... it was worth the late night (and resulting little sleep I got).
Their story was painful, realistic, scary, romantic, steamy and just... SO. GOOD!

I hope we get to see some more of this group somewhere along the way.

    **Spoilers splash here and there***

Before I even get into this book, I want to point out that. I want no I can’t wait until Emmie book to come out because I am curious and I did think she may end up with a book too. Can’t wait to read it and hear story.” Hopefully have Theo Cirillo perspective too.

So on with that; the guys from the shop wasn’t hardly mentioned in Dawson story as he was in Zach, Titch’s, and Spike’s book. Whereas they weren’t. I was surprised but I just assume that since his family is in the MC that the other guys wasn’t meant to be put into a bad situation.

But it sucks that Dawson was treated bad when he was younger by Piper but they both were young and she made a mistake that was based on what her father wanted of her. But as they gotten older I guess well we all know Dawson; hold a grudge against her for far to long. I felt like he never forgave her fully for what she did. Even though he continued on loving her. Then learning that she was still alive.

Did something to him. But I felt like he wasn’t going to hurt her the way his dad had brother was planning for her. Because regardless of what he said he loved her and didn’t want to do harm to her. Because once they got back talking and seeing each other. He fell for her again.

Until his brother came and ruin things again for him. I was glad in the end he fixed things with Piper. Not only that got rid of his family. I just was wondering if he still talked to his mom though....

Young and in love...and then tragic and broken is where their story ended at the age of 18. Then, 17 years later, Piper magically appears seemingly from the dead.
What starts as a plot of revenge, Dawson quickly get sucked back under. He thought he could use and discard her without a second thought. However, fate laughed in his face.

Piper knew she should be cautious; to guard her heart. But, once she gets around Dawson, she is reminded why she fell in love with him 17 years ago. Then she finds out his revenge plan.

Dawson and Piper's chemistry is red freakin' hot. And their love for each other, even through all the lies and deceit, survives the years and trials.

Sad that the Rebel Ink series has come to an end. Love each of the books! But excited to read Emmie's story.

Finally! We get to learn more about Dawson. He has been an enigma from the start of this series, and now we get to learn why. With his whole family being involved with a MC that he chose to leave at 18, he has lived a lonely life, thinking his only love died back then. With his 16 year old daughter coming to live with him his life starts to get complicated...fast. Then he sees Piper and although he fights it, he is a goner. These two have a lot they have to overcome, but the chemistry is off the charts! Great story that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. Read it! You will not regret it!

Wow. So sad to see the Rebel Inc boys go. I have loved the interconnecting of all of the books and crossovers. I would've loved to see all of them married. Spike & Kas being the only ones not.

This book about Dawson was great. D was always mysterious and dark and in Defy You we found out why but then to have such a sad and dark past and then for it to come back and haunt you was a great storyline.
I struggled sometimes to read the mean things that D was trying to convince myself of, say to Piper and do to Piper. We were always told he was the most decent with the best morals. But he couldn't fight love.

Piper was a great character. While in the previous books the female character had already been introduced into the Rebel Inc family so I was shocked to read we didn't know anything about Piper. But I'm glad. The introduction of how they meet again was awesome.

There isn't anything much that is missing here. Tracy was more adventurous with the sexual scenes and they were great.

I do wonder if we're going to get a Royal Reapers series with Link & Cruz. Especially Link he deserves a good woman.

Next up Emmie's books, I certainly wouldn't want to be the guy who comes home to meet the Dawson. Then having the Rebel uncles.

This is the final book in the Rebel Ink series and I’m sad to see it end.

Dawson and Piper were together at 18 and she betrayed him. He thought she was gone, Only to walk into Knights Ridge school and find her working there.

This book gripped me from the moment I picked it up. I loved the unique story line, the characters, everything.

Emmie is my favourite character and I’m hoping that there will be a book about her in the future.

This book was heartbreaking in places. It was gripping, edgy and had a good dose of sex and alpha in there.

All of the characters were awesome. My only negative was the use of the term bad arse. I’m English and I’ve never heard it before. It sounds weird, but each yo their own

    Highly recommended

Beautiful couple and also a very good story. The only reason behind 4 stars is because of one particular situation: D's mom threatening Piper because she had already hurted him. Enough of that already! The poor girl was eighteen, she didn't had other choice, she was young and naive, plus all the problem that came with that story it was their father's rivalry, so if D's mom needs to blame and threaten to kill someone is her own husband, for Christ's sake. It was a real threat and it really got me mad, not just because it was not Piper's fault but because she was ALSO hurted with all the betrayal. So unfair being threatened and charged because of something it was not her fault. Why she was so charged about it? Because she is a woman? Despite that situation it is a good read.
