Pride of Place (Mitch & Cian Book 3) Kindle Edition
Cian can’t wait to accompany Mitch to his first Pride, or for the moment they’ll start sharing a home and their lives. But while the festival is everything they could have hoped for, unexpected news that Cian is about to lose his room in Dublin puts their life together under threat.
Objections to their plans from the home front and a shocking lack of affordable housing in Dublin could shatter Mitch and Cian’s dreams, but perhaps a second miracle is exactly what they need to find their pride of place.

About the author

Helena Stone can’t remember a life before words and reading. After growing up in a household where no holiday or festivity was complete without at least one new book, it’s hardly surprising she now owns more books than shelf space while her Kindle is about to explode.
The urge to write came as a surprise. The realisation that people might enjoy her words was a shock to say the least. Now that the writing bug has well and truly taken hold, Helena can no longer imagine not sharing the characters in her head and heart with the rest of the world.
Having left the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam for the peace and quiet of the Irish Country side she divides her time between reading, writing, long and often wet walks with the dog, her part-time job in a library, a grown-up daughter and her ever loving and patient husband.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2019Format: KindleThese poor sweet boys are having a time of it. But I love them. I have grown to just adore them so much. They keep getting up and trying even when life is just beating them to pieces. Even when their own families are seeming like they want to break them up. It’s been another hard journey in this life but it’s helped them to become stronger, and closer. Even when they almost wanted to give up.
Mitch is finally done with exams and ready to move on with life by moving in with Cian. He’s especially happy when he walks off campus to see a surprise. Cian there to see him. But happiness quickly turns to a sourness of epic proportions, when his mother decides to really voice her opinion on he and Cian, and their living together. And Cian’s mother speaks the same thing. It puts a bit of gloom on Mitch’s first Pride, but they decided to have fun anyway. They spend a weekend in bliss and enjoying each other until it was time to go home and Cian’s gotten a note that they are all being evicted. And apartments are too expensive for them. Cian has to move back home, Mitch is working a crappy job and their hopes are dashed. Mitch goes back to the old library where he miraculously met Cian, and prayed for another miracle. But can that be possible or has their luck run out?
I’ve always heard that people just seem to know when they find the one they’re meant to be with. It’s a connection they have. And when people seem to try to break it up or down, depending on how you look at it, it’s discouraging. Especially when it’s your own family. I felt for these boys. They just wanted to start their new lives together and to be supported, not brought down along with everything else. But one thing I love about these two, is they don’t give up on each other. No matter how hard things get, they recognize that it’s each other that gets them through. They hold on to each other, enjoying every minute of time they have together, sparing no free moment. They’ve learned that they have to treasure each amount of time they have and that’s what make it all worthwhile.
I really love these boys. I can’t wait to see how it continues.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2019Format: KindleThere is still so much to love about this pair. Mitch and Cian are still in the honeymoon phase of their growing relationship and that newness is beautifully depicted in Pride of Place. Not only do we get to see their love grow even more but we get to see them experience Dublin's Pride festival as well.
Don't get me wrong there is some drama thanks to mom but also an unforeseen hiccup, however it's not heavy on the angst. Pride of Place is a lovely romantic look at the next leg of Mitch and Cian's journey that will warm your heart. Is the solution to their housing issue a bit convenient? Perhaps, but their love story is a novella series so the timing may seem not quite realistic but it is by no means rushed either. Let's face it, sometimes things in life do fall into place at just the right time in just the right way so the boys' unexpected good tidings really isn't impossible or hard to accept. Add to that the title telling of their first meeting was A Miracle in the Library, perhaps the solution that's "dropped in their laps" now is simply serendipitous.
Helena Stone definitely has another winner with Pride of Place that is worth the time to read and if you haven't already explored the beginnings of Mitch and Cian's journey in A Miracle in the Library and Lessons in Love, I highly recommend giving them a read first. Trust me, you won't be sorry, Mitch and Cian are a pair of lovely lads finding love and navigating life that will make you smile. I for one, hope we haven't heard the last of this young duo.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2019Format: KindleMitch is finished with his exams and can't wait to move in with Cian in Dublin. Going to Pride weekend only gets them more excited about the new life they will start in the fall. Mitch's and Cian's moms are not as gung ho on the idea of them moving together as such a young age, but the two young men are determined. Then Cian and his roommates are evicted from their apartment and Mitch and Cian need a miracle. Will they get one? a sweet sexy love story.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2019Format: KindleIt’s no secret that I love Helena Stone’s work and that I love Mitch and Cian’s series. The third book in it, “Pride of Place”, is no exception.
I love the newness of their relationship and how wide-eyed they are about every experience, like Mitch going to Pride for the first time. Their romance is sweet (but still with some heat!) and it’s wonderful to see two characters who aren’t jaded by previous relationships.
Their struggles were totally realistic, which I love. And while the solution might have seemed just a teenty, tiny bit convenient, this IS a series that began with a miracle in the library so I don’t think it strains credulity to think that another miracle could happen.
If you’re looking for a story with realistic characters and an endearing romance, this is the series for you!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2019Format: KindleI love following Mitch and Cian. Young love is sweet and special. I hope we continue to get more stories as they learn and grow with each other.
