    The only reason this is not a 5 is because 1. I need a real epilogue. I don't feel as if the boom officially finished without it. 2. The description of the characters were vague and made picturing interactions impossible for me. To assume I know what a bald hipster looks like is bold. As much as i enjoyed the story i can honestly say I could not picture Shannon to save my life. I do hope the Minion and Linus end up together.

    I am currently in the process of reading everything by Jennifer Cody because...umm...of course! who wouldn't be with characters this awesome! We have Orlando the blowgun wielding ass-assassin, Linus the best friend coroner who is so far (please, please, please be in a sequel!) just a bunch of hilarious text messages, Minion who is either the best therapist/minion in the world or the worst and SHANNON! who is named after the author's editor. I think that if I ever had a character like Shannon named after me I would be so flattered and grateful! Who knew that one of my life goals was to have an evil genius named after me?!
    Character and dialogue are the way to my heart and Jennifer Cody always delivers. I was reading this on my Kindle and highlighting whole paragraphs in delight! The banter is the best and I look forward to reading anything new that comes out by this author that is set in this world of The Anonymous Club (hint, hint). Can't wait to see the characters back there and how they might interact with others in this world of lovely criminals....

    Jennifer Cody is a hit or miss for me. The ones I like I REALLY like, but the ones I don't I usually can't even finish. This is a definite hit.

    Loved Shannon and Orlando to pieces. Their banter was witty and the chemistry was pure fire. Minion was one of the best supporting characters I've ever seen and I hope we get more from these 3 because they were epic together. I highlighted so many quotes as I read that probably 40% of the book is highlighted!

    I had 1 issue that isn't even a complaint, just sent my mind on a tangent that was wholly unnecessary: Shannon gets the special of the day at the hotel restaurant which is a "posh" meatloaf of ostrich, bison, and alligator. These are all super lean meats so a chef would have to compensate for that quite a bit to make it a good meatloaf. This is the weirdest thing that has ever bothered me reading a book. Maybe I'm just to poor to get it.

    Absolutely loved this story so much and I'm already looking forward to rereading it. 1500 stars!!

    Two men, both confident in who they are. Orlando just wants to protect his neck of the woods, and does so in a unique fashion. Shannon wants to take over the world (for like, a few days, until he gets bored.) They meet at The Anonymous the first time Orlando steps into the club. A club where membership has to be offered, and saying yes will keep you safe within it's walls. But making a wrong move inside the Anonymous can get you killed on the outside, because the members are made up of the things that go bump in the night. Shannon sees Orlando and knows he's a newbie, then calls dibs. He has little hope he can actually snare the hottie, but Orlando likes Shannon's moxie. A hookup quickly turns deadly serious, and Orlando's unique set of skills is needed to take care of a little problem for Shannon. Combined with Shannon's specialty, Orlando can't be stopped. Teamwork happens. Exotic pets happen. A salty Minion being paid overtime happens. Most of all, hilarity and steamy times happen. Although said steamy times get several interruptions! I loved this book. Jennifer Cody is a genius with words.

    Poison Hearts has a great start to the book, with humour and sarcastic thoughts from Orlando.
    Orlando hates thugs and criminals in his territory, which he takes care of with a few 🎯and they're gone. He sure was sneaky with Linus, not knowing where he lived. He gets an invitation to The Anonymous club, which things get exciting as dangers unfold.

    Shannon is a scientist and was constantly inventing toys for the Elite clients. I loved Shannon's personality; he gets along with Orlando well, and they are perfect for each other.
    The author takes the mickey out of AI's computer technology. I had to laugh.
    Their first hook-up gets explosive 🧨 and they have to run to safety. Orlando's a planner, which comes in handy in later dramatic scenes.
    This story is one that I laughed so much with their banters. Action scenes as Orlando hated climbing up stairways with evil men coming out at him.
    Poison Hearts has a good ending for their HEA finish. I love this series and plan to get the others to read.

    Orlando and Shannon were absolutely brilliant and hilarious. For a short read the world building was amazing, considering it was a stand alone I want to know all about the side characters especially Minion and Linus. Jennifer’s book are always great reads and this was definitely one of my favs.
