Portents: A MM Shifter Romance Kindle Edition
Aeryn is Moya’s best friend, but both of them crave the day when they are old enough to take their relationship further, when their love may go beyond the precious gift of a heated kiss.
Moya must experience his first Rut, a traditional ceremony he dreads with all his heart because he wants Aeryn to be the one. More than anything he hankers to share his knot with the young Omega, and the thought of having to experience his first time with a complete stranger only makes his resolve to claim Aeryn for himself even stronger.
As the ceremony ends, an earthquake rocks their peaceful existence and sets off a chain of events that will change their lives forever.
As Moya and Aeryn discover to their cost, not all packs are born equal.
‘Portents’ is the first in a brand-new Shifter series with a distinct sci-fi voice.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2019This book has a lot of twists and turns to it. We are introduced to a group of important characters, alphas, betas, and omegas, who are trying to stop the evil moonrise from manifesting and bringing with it monsters that they had only heard about as fairy tales. At the end of the book we are left with lots of questions and I can't wait to read the next book in the series to find out what happens to our group of heroes. The book does end in a cliffhanger, luckily it looks like the next two books are already out so I don't have to wait for the next book to come out to find out what happened. I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2019I’m not actually sure what drew me into reading this book, certainly not the cover, but there was something.
It’s not a long read and suffers from some bombast but I enjoyed the grit, the gore, the down and dirty imagery. It’s a fantasy with a hint of sci-fi but there was a reality to it. The people are creatures of lust, the protagonists suffer, there is bitter sweetness—it is not sickly—and sometimes that’s just what I want.
There were some issues with proofing and the author suffered from naming some of her characters with the same initials—Aeryn, Airis; Jensen, Jared—which did cause some confusion when the wrong name announced whose POV it was coming from. I decided to be forgiving as the mystery laid out before me was enough to keep me reading. It was a different take on the A/B/Overse (not that I’m an expert by any means) and I found myself taken with some of the characters, particularly Kaden and Jared; their emotions, their loves, disappointments, secrets, all felt realistic.
It was certainly enough to have me purchase the next in series so I could find out what ensued once the portended moon finally showed its huge and threateningly eerie face.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2019This book was absolutely wonderful! Definitely a must read, the excitement alone will keep you turning those pages, a new adventure, lots of mystery and secrets reviled! This a beautiful love story between two sweet guys! So many thanks, Honey Bee 🐝📚💙🎭🎶. PS: I'm on a the next exciting book 2 and I can't wait! 🎶
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2020Firstly, this book was nothing like what l was expecting to read.
l know l enjoy shifter stories, but this story had so much more.
Book 1 gives us the back ground to the characters, the world they live in and the colony's beliefs.
The opening chapter about Moya, becoming an alpha and manifesting, is a spectacular feast for all
of the senses. The descriptions of the rutting ceremony just delicious.
We learn about his love and lust for an omega , who he cannot claim as his yet. All this happens while the world as they know it starts to fall apart. Moya feels the pain of the earth and the sense of darkness approaching .
The elders in their colony, Moya, and the most powerful of them all the Archivist leave on a pilgrim to find answers. They must find a way to stop the destruction and possibly stop the old stories of monsters and Moontime becoming real.
Book 1 ends at a very inconvenient point, honestly, now l have to start book 2 asap.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2019It was meh I mean I thought I was going to get to read about the 2 main characters but ended up reading about others. I didn’t mind others but the book is short so with that it just means that the main characters don’t get developed to where you get their sense of mind. The beginning was promising but in the middle of just fell apart. U have the 2 main characters Moya and Aeryn. Moya feels as if he has a sense of duty to fulfil so even in the beginning when he has his rut right he has no sense of guilt towards being with other ppl and the way the author wrote it it seemed like he even didn’t spare Aeryn any sort of feelings. You have the 2 main characters in love to start with but there just isn’t enough detail or chemistry to make me believe their love for one another is magnificent nor beautiful. Headline was good but reading it was lame I mean it’s a good read if u just want a quick read for the sex without any character build.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2019This is not like any shifter tale that I’ve read. It’s set in what feels like a very hyper-sexualized primitive world, yet there’s also a sci-fi element that becomes apparent as the book progresses. It’s definitely unique, and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. My only problem with this book is that it desperately needs a good copy editor or knowledgeable proofreader. I was taken out of the story over and over when I had to back up and add my own punctuation, parse a sentence, or fix a typo. If you’re not picky about such things, you’ll really enjoy this. Those like me, however, may have a harder time. But it’s definitely worth reading, as its one-of-a-kind take on the shifter and A/B/O tropes is intriguing and compelling.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dystopian paranormal story
Interesting plot line. Took a bit to get into but I did not enjoy the sudden ending. Not exactly a cliffhanger but abrupt. I guess that is to lead onto the next book but too abrupt for my liking. Otherwise pretty good.
