Trident True Love: A Paranormal Chick Lit Novel Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 67 ratings

Poseidon

God of the Sea? Not anymore. Mount Olympus is closed for business. Fine by me. I’ve got a sweet mountaintop hideaway, a vintage bike that roars louder than Apollo on his best day, and I’m Vice President of the Gods of Thunder MC.

All the heartache and frustration I had to deal with as one of the Gods? Gone. Don’t miss it one bit. Most of the time.

I got low. Okay? Whiskey’s great and all. But it doesn’t hold a candle to Dionysius’s wine. Which is also gone. That’s why I was standing at the edge of the cliff staring down at the surf.

And now? There’s a half-drowned, naked woman in my bed who doesn’t know who she is—or that she’s a mermaid. Someone cursed her, and by my Trident, I’m going to find them and bring the pain.

Poseidon or Poison as he now goes by rescues a mermaid cursed by an evil witch. It's a sexier version of the Little Mermaid. There's danger, drama and romance in this God of Thunder MC and the God Sea has no idea what is about to hit him. Great read.

    Trident True Love
    Gods of Thunder MC
    By: Paisley Tate
Narrated by: Patrick Zeller, Stephanie Nemeth-Parker

I loved everything about this book, from Paisley Tate’s wonderful writing style to the fascinating characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. Also loved how she incorporated gods and mermaids into her story, putting a twist on some classic tales. The Gods have left the building, I mean Mount Olympus and are living on Earth, Poseidon has settled in Seattle. And when he sees a damsel in distress in the water, he goes to rescue her except she is no ordinary woman, she is a mermaid, a mermaid who does not know who or what she is. Turns out someone bewitched her with a spell that will kill her if he does not get her help. The book opened with Serea in her kingdom shows what is going on there with her father, the King, and who cast the spell on her why. She has no recollection of how she got to where Poseidon aka Poison rescued her. She also has other struggles, like simple everyday activities, which Poison helps her with. This sweet and spicy story is cleverly plotted, with plenty of drama, humor, twists and turns, heartfelt emotions and a fated romance. Paisley Tate, thank you for this amazing, uniquely original and entertaining story.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Patrick Zeller and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker are superbly talented narrators. They do an amazing job portraying these characters, giving each a voice that suits their character’s persona perfectly, sounding believable and natural in every role they played. Nemeth-Parker grasped every side of Serea’s personality and Zeller played the swoon-worthy god, both were great voicing the secondary roles as well. They sent the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease and landed the humor effortlessly. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhanced an already fabulous story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

What happens when a mermaid forgets who she is, *what* she is, and gets rescued by the god of the sea? "I don’t know who this woman is or why she’s in trouble, but saving her? It’s the one thing I can do that no one will hate me for."

This was a fun, lighthearted and steamy little read. Despite her amnesia, Serea's the perfect little spitfire to match Poison's - Poseidon's - somewhat surly disposition, and though there's immediate sizzle, the element of slow burn made the pages turn that much faster. “You’re not alone, and no matter what we find out, you never will be again unless you want to be.” Swoon!

The side characters serve up a fair amount of interest to the plot, including a hilarious scene of, erm, education, that had my giggles earning a side-eye from onlookers (read: husband).

The story hooks you right from the start, and is the perfect length for a weekend escape.

While it certainly fits more of the chick-lit genre than most of the suspense or fantasy reads I cling to, I really found myself enjoying the story (hence my devouring it in a day) and wouldn't be at all disappointed if we saw more from this world. Highly recommend.

I was provided an advanced copy from the author and am leaving my honest review.

Poseidon is the God of Thunder in this book, Serea, a mermaid, is his fated mate. She’s been fatally cursed by her stepmother, a blood mage, to forget her past and even that she’s a mermaid. Fortunately, Poseidon rescues her from drowning and they fall in love with each other. They visit Gods of Thunder’s headquarters, where she meets many other of the old gods from Mount Olympus who have relocated to Mt. Olympus and Seattle. Serea is dying from the curse, but with the help of several powerful deities, she is cured. Now, she and Poseidon must save her father and the enclave from the evil blood mage, and find their HEA ending. Despite the effects and threat of the curse, there is a large amount of humor and witty dialogue. I found myself chuckling every other page and occasionally laughing out loud. It was an extremely enjoyable book.

The Gods are living in Seattle after abandoning Mt. Olympus. Poseidon never expected to fall in love with a mermaid; one who doesn’t know who or what she is. And so the story enfolds as the God of the Seas sorts it all out. Another fine story in the series.

Another great read in this series. I read this some time ago but oops forgot to post my review. This one is about Poseidon or Poison as he is now known. Along with the other Gods of Olympus they now live amongst their people as one of them. Part of the Gods of Thunder MC he now enjoys the less stressful role of not being a God. All going smoothly until he finds a naked woman, well mermaid actually who does not know who she is or that she is a mermaid. Being cursed by a witch it is now up to Poison to sort this out. Whilst finding true love. All the great elements of a well written story, love, romance and adventure.

Another amazing installment in The Gods Of Thunder MC series.
Poseidon finds his little mermaid and instantly falls in love with her.
Serea cannot remember much, above all that she is a mermaid.
Poison, as Poseidon is known , helps her to find her way home and lift the curse and the threat to her people.
This is a fantastic retelling of The Little Mermaid, fused with the God of the Sea, who is living near Seattle with the rest of the Greek Pantheon after deserting Mount Olympus.
Great characters, fantastic storyline. Plenty of humour as Serea doesn't know anything about how humans live.
She certainly love coffe, beer, waffles and well, read for yourself if you want to find out!!!
Highly recommended and don't forget to read the other books in the series!!!
