A well-written book packed full of useful information. It has been a mine of information for me. I will be putting several of Wendy Jone's suggestions into practice at my first book signing tomorrow. Every author should have' Power Packed Marketing' on the bookshelf for reference. (Lesley Wilson)

The information in this book is solid. It was a very easy read, plenty of helpful suggestions, and it came at a much
needed time (I've written several books and have nothing but trouble getting the word out there for them)... Wendy H Jones
has a heart to help others; she is a true inspiration! Get your copy of this author's marketing book, learn from her what

This is a quick, easy read that is filled with lots of tips. Wendy also includes exercise to help get your creative juices going and help you come up with your own marketing ideas beyond what she has written. There are promotion tips for print and ebooks, plus she provides ways to market through newsletters and blogs, as well as in person. I've already put some ideas to work.

My favourite line in this book was: "The most important thing to remember about marketing is that it is fun." Wendy H. Jones writes about it in a way that makes you want to do it, not just groan and put your head in your hands in despair. With both tactics and strategies, resources and cold, sensible advice as well as real life examples, you can use this book to shape the marketing campaign you need for your particular book. Having finished this, I'm next purchasing a year planner to lay out strategies for every week - thank you for the great idea Wendy!

Wendy H. Jones offers a great deal of valuable content for a very reasonable price in her new book, Power Packed Book Marketing: Sell More Books. I paid only $4.99 for my kindle download and I am certain that this investment will be amply rewarded. There are many books available on this topic, so you may be asking, "What stands out about this one?" I will give you a couple of answers. The first, and most important reason you should buy this book is that each section ends with an "Exercise" or homework assignment which encourages the reader to apply the knowledge they have just gained. These exercises are worth the price of admission on their own. Another valuable resource that stood out to me was the bibliography included at the conclusion of the book. There are many good sources offered up here for your further study.
The one thing I would have loved more of is a little deeper narrative around Wendy's experiences. There are some great examples of things she's done (see the book launch sections for instance), but I was left wondering about details. She is walking the path many of us would like to follow and I appreciate the glimpses into the road ahead from her perspective. A fuller picture would have been even more enjoyable. Perhaps she's saving that for another book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Resource Book on Marketing
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 11, 2017
Even though I have been marketing my books for two and a half years, I still found wonderful tips in the comprehensive book by Wendy H Jones! She quotes Joanna Penn when she writes,
"Marketing is about tapping into the emotional reaction of your readers."

More importantly, Her book is based on two premises:
    1) Seize every opportunity to get your book in front of the readers - but in a way that works for you
    2) Marketing is FUN. If it isn't, change your marketing strategy

The material in the book covers Branding, Book Launches, Website, Promotions, Blogs, Public Speaking, Author Pages and much more.
There are exercises at the end of every chapter and you are strongly encouraged to complete them as they are designed to get your creative juices going. I found them useful for building the basis of my marketing strategy. Along with the suggestion of a wall yearly planner, they were also a test of my commitment to marketing.

It's a book that can be read cover to cover which I did initially - but I am sure I will find myself dipping into it all the time.
I like the way Wendy drops her telling statistics every so often:
"A customer needs to see something 6 or 7 times before they buy" or "You may have 2000 followers but only 4% of those will see a given
post/tweet" or "72% of my subscribers are subscribed by mobile devices".
The book ends with a generous checklist of "Recommended Resources".

I highly recommend the book to all writers who have the challenge of doing their own marketing.

Wendy Jones' book 'Power Packed Marketing' is well named! Every chapter is choc-full of information. Exercises at the end of most chapters get the creative juices flowing. The style of writing is easy to follow and Wendy's sense of humour shines through. Writing can be a solitary and sometimes stressful occupation, but Wendy has managed to convey that being an author can also be fun. This is a book that should be on every writers' bookshelf.

'Power Packed Book Marketing' is an easy read. It makes the world of marketing books more accessible and less daunting for those of us who prefer writing to selling. I found the book full of useful hints and tips. Very helpfully it breaks down the process of marketing into 'baby steps' and encourages writers to do what works for them.
