Having experienced countless disappointments, and having taken a stand not to fall for any more tricks, Cayson is more than a little skeptical when Quick comes around asking for a second chance to prove himself. The gorgeous man had already made it clear he was definitely uninterested in Cayson… or so he’d thought.
Dr. Chauncey stirred up Quick’s suppressed, most carnal desires from a place deep down inside of him. He’d reacted so badly the first time that now his sexy surgeon wanted nothing to do with him. It was going to take a fair amount of patience and a whole lot of wooing involved as Quick sets out to convince Cayson that he’s worth another chance and that he is the brave lover who Cayson has been looking for.
With a scorned ex and a very dangerous job thrown into the mix, Cayson’s happiness and all of Quick’s promises may not be as easy to keep as they’d hoped.

    Another fantastic series by a truly gifted author. Big alpha males, the toughest of the tough, snarky trash talking, band of brothers. But...They have their hidden need to find their soul mate. That one person who can understand their deepest desire for that connection of the secret heart.
    Every single book A E Via has written is a masterful achievement. Each character is unforgettable and their stories are fast paced adventures filled with men you can't help but love.
    If you haven't yet read any books by A E Via, I highly recommend you start by reading her "Nothing Special" series. In this series, "Bounty Hunters", there is a brief appearance by some of the characters from my first recommendation. Another great series of hers to red is the "Blue Moon" series. And don't forget "Can You See Me", another excellent book.
    I guess you can tell I'm a big fan of A E Via. You will be, too.

    Promises Part 2 is better than the first book. Perhaps, because we are familiar with the characters and with the exception of one chapter, we don't get unnecessary POV shifts. Quick's and Cayson's personalities are distinctive enough for the first person narrative to work well.

    The relationship between the MCs starts with a tentative truce and a slow burn. In the previous book, we get to see how Quick dismisses the doctor and how Cayson finds himself humiliated by it. We also get a peek into Cayson's toxic relationship with Dr. Joe.

    When this story starts, Quick is ready to embrace, not only his bisexuality but his attraction to Cayson. Cayson in the other hand doesn't believe in Quick's interest and thinks he's only trying to play with the gay guy to humiliate him.

    It takes time and several dates, for the MCs to get comfortable together. Plus, some poking from Duke and Vaugh. When they decided to start dating, they go all in even when the threat of Dr. Joe, Cayson's scorned ex is present.

    There's action, love, and much more in this installment. The angst level is minimal even when they are dealing with the jealous ex. The smexy scenes are well balanced with the everyday events, and we can enjoy the novelty of their sexual exploration too.

    The author did an excellent job incorporating the characters from the previous story into this book, and the guys from the crossover series, Nothing Special, as well. We get to see their loyalty and the family they represent. And we got a little hint of a possible couple. I hope I'm right in my assumption. Ford needs a little something for taking care of his brother.

    What I liked the most: How comfortable Quick was with his sexuality.

    I wanted more of: The main reason behind Quick's rage.

    Who should read it: Any fan of Law Enforcement stories.

    It felt like a lifetime waiting for this book! I was anxious to read Rome and Cays story because of how different they are. I was looking forward to seeing how Quick was going to come out of his deep, deep closet. I was not disappointed. I ended up reading this book in one sitting and as usual with Ms. Via's books, I wanted more and shouted with angst at not having it. Her books are well written, contain a beautiful amount of romance and hot M/M sex and wonderful alpha characters. It was a treat to see some old characters again and reminded me that we are still waiting for God and Day's continuation...........wedding perhaps?

    Please, Please, Please tell me you will write Ford and Brian's stories! Dana too! I love all of these characters.

    Well, this is more like it! It's definitely better than the first book. Although in the beginning Roman first refers to himself as a gay man and calls his ex-wife his beard but later he uses the term bisexual. That was not confusing at all, no one said ever! Then after slight stereotyping (He thought that only women loved flowers, I mean flower language was used to be well-known and yes, mainly used by men to get out of the doghouse, but a man secure in his masculinity or any man really can enjoy tulips or roses just the same as any woman, so there!) the pace and the story picked up, and I enjoyed myself!

    First, let me just say that on the hotness scale from 1 to 100 this book was a gazillion! So, that part is great! I liked Cayson most of the time especially his journey from insecure to self-confident. It was wonderful. I also appreciated him as a professional as he is very talented and smart. What was a tad odd was his attitude towards Dr. Joe - he was clearly a threat and his insistence he could handle the situation was all fake bravado and unnecessary but, thank the stars, he stopped and actually let Quick help him.

    Quick aka Roman is A$$h*lian citizen in the first book but here, when he pulls the stick out, he finally sees his chance at happiness and grabs it. The romantic side is lovely, he is protective, growly, possessive and just a gentleman. So I liked him and how he was with his colleagues, son and, of course, Cays! Awww to the nickname! More of his history is revealed and he is one tough man! Respect is where it's due!

    As for all the excitement of the stalker and his creepiness, I loved the whole scenario and how it was written. I had real fun! The characters from the first book played a bigger part and even some characters from another series were introduced, God and Day, and made me curious to read about them! Should I or should I not? What do you think? Overall, I am liking this series more and more. So, I will recommend this one!

    So this is part two of Promises which is Quick/Rome and Dr. Chauncey’s/Cays’s story, and although this can be read as a standalone, I’d advise reading these books in order as all the characters are recurring (not to mention fanbloodytastic). This author just gets better with every book as far as I’m concerned, this was hands down her most sweet and romantic tale to date imo – until around half way in or so, where things take a dangerously dramatic turn and become outrageously testosterone-filled and packing wall to wall hot alphas. Yup, some familiar faces pop up in this one from the Nothing Special series, pair that with some of the hottest alphas from this series, and it turns into an all out pi$$ing contest at times, which is such a hoot, not to mention damn HOT!

    After much advice from his son and best friend and a tiny little bit of soul-searching on his own, Rome is ready to admit to his bisexuality (although he’s never actually been with a guy) and go after the man of his dreams. Of course, Rome b@llsed things up in book one as far as Cays was concerned, when he rejected the poor, sweet man’s advances and hurt him badly, so he has to work pretty hard here to win the heart of his sweet and loving doctor. And after some apologies are made, some flowers are given and some misunderstandings get resolved between the men….win him he most certainly does!!! These guys are almost to the point of being unbearably romantic together, as Rome sets about seducing his man old-school style with dinner-dates, candles, flowers and late-night walks and basically holding out and not trying to jump him at the first opportunity! And as much as these guys are lust-filled for one another, Roman wants to woo Cays slowly so he's aware just how much he's desired in and out of the bedroom, as Cays has been so hurt by ex lovers and faced rejection time and again, and therefore feels not only undesirable but also unlovable. It was beautiful to watch the doc not only gain self-esteem and realise his own worth, but to also get the love he so longed for and deserved and with a god-like specimen such as Rome to cherish and protect him. And although these guys don’t even get properly intimate until around half way into the tale, believe me when they do indulge? they are OFF THE CHARTS (a given with this author really).

    Things definitely get crazy in this tale. With a spiteful ex of Cayson's hell-bent on winning him back, and Rome’s “inner beast” threatening to arise and destroy anyone who attempts to hurt his doc, not to mention the fierce and almost brutal protectiveness between the enigmatic King brothers (desperate to read their story – and what’s with Ford and Dana???). But alas, havoc and outright mayhem aside, this author gave me what I’ve now come to expect, with a beautifully (albeit highly improbable and OTT) romantic outcome for this truly gorgeous couple who you cannot help championing throughout and just praying they get their fairytale. This one left me with a ridiculously stupid grin on my face and my hubby looking at me oddly….says it all really. Please say there will be more from these Bounty Hunters?

    Absolutely infuriating that an author of this caliber could make such mistakes. Duke s age changes from 45 to early forties and Quick s age from 49 to early forties but Quick s son is still 31 btw book and 1 and 2. Several times only one character s name is printed through out the whole para when it s actually a conversation btw two ppl. All in all, not happy with this book.
