"Fascinating Christian themes set in a dangerous post-apocalyptic world."—Readers' Favorite Five Star Review

IN THE SHADOW OF THE SERPENT

Micah Abrams has been transformed. No longer the bully who tormented David Donner, he faithfully follows a divine mission to spread hope and healing across the ashy wastelands of the Pacific Northwest. But when Sera Donner is taken from him once again, doubt comes prowling for Micah's own soul, and he makes a shocking choice that changes everything.

Running from an enemy he once believed couldn't destroy him, adrift in a lawless land where people will do anything to survive, Micah must come to grips with a God whose power is perfected in weakness. Can the fledgling prophet's faith endure? Or will the darkest time in human history drag this chosen one of Yahweh down to destruction?

    From the Author

    Decades in the making...

I've always wanted to write a book about the end of the world. The idea for this series came to me after a lifetime of fascination with end times theories and prophecies. It took three years of research and then another two years of writing to finish the first book, and I loved every minute of it. I've been a writer for over twenty-five years, won my share of awards, but this series is the most important thing I've ever written.

The Goliath Code Series is not your standard survival story. The books take an unflinching look at human nature in the midst of horrifying world-wide events that many people feel might just happen in their lifetime. Readers claim the books put you on the edge of your seat and then suddenly rip your heart out. No apologies for that; the apocalypse isn't for the faint of heart. And if a little bit of colorful language offends you, this might not be the series for you.

I'd love to hear what you think of The Goliath Code Series. Send me an email at

This second book in The Goliath Code series read as quickly for me as The Goliath Code. Ms. Leonhard goes in a slightly different direction with her books, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I loved that this book focused on Micah, one of the 144,000 sealed Jewish men chosen to be prophets of God during the tribulation. I find it a welcome, fresh storyline. And her characters, main and supporting, are well fleshed out, detailed, believable and likeable... or not, equally well.
Sometimes I think that those of us who enjoy reading fiction set in the Tribulation period are a bit off; though we know who wins the war, it will be an ugly time- and yet it will be shot through with golden strands of miracles and salvation despite the ugliness and horror the enemy and his army will throw down. Though Jesus is my savior, we're told that no one knows the hour of His coming, and no one knows when the trumpet will sound and His chosen will meet Him in the clouds. I certainly pray the Church will be removed before the 7 year period of the Tribulation. Reading works like this encourages my study and reinforces my joy that during the worst time on the Earth, there will continue to be people saved and brought into the Kingdom of God. People like Sera and Eli will be terrified with their families in Heaven. There is hope in the darkest of times and places.
Pick Prophet up and read it ( get The Goliath Code first!! ). It's well written, thoughtful, and Ms. Leonhard is a terrific Christian author.

Book 2 is just as much fun and blazing fast read as Book 1! It was fast moving and the story continues with the same characters, but shifts to Micah's perspective. He's a very special person - chosen of God for special assignment! Having studied Revelation under two different instructors, the author handles the stress and distress of those Tribulation days with imagination and makes this become real in many ways. You will find yourself rooting for the champions and hoping the bad guys don't succeed. The story is wonderfully woven and leaves you at the proverbial precipice so that you will want to jump into Book 3! Delightful and Fun and Thoughtful and yet motivates the reader to help share the message of Good News before it's too late!

I'm really enjoying this series! I love how the author shows that to this day, how God takes the most broken people and turn them into something magnificent! From beginning to end, this story moved me! I like how the main character has dreams of his past so we can know where he came from and how he grows to become what God chose him to be. I highly recommend this great read!

This is the second book in a series that take place after the world changes drastically. The story is decently written with well written descriptions of what is happening. This is an enjoyable read if you totally discount it following Biblical information. The prophet is no where close to behaving like one of the chosen. Keep in mind that this series is not Biblical and it becomes enjoyable.

      Bravo, Ms. Leonhard. BRAVO!
This book gripped me tighter than any I've read since, I don't know, "Call of the Wild" when I was 8 or 9?
An exceptional, gripping, refuse to put it down 'till you're done series up to this point.
If book three continues with the momentum this book generated, I may lose my job for refusing to stop reading and perform my tasks!
Thank you, Ma'am, for sharing this. It's a very spiritual adventure, and without a doubt the most novel post-apoc. book I've yet to read, and I've read countless different author's series.
You have found more than a niche, this is obviously your calling.
Now, what am I going to do until book 3?

The story deepens through Micah’s point of view in this second book of The Goliath Code series. Micah wrestles with what he really wants and what he’ll have to sacrifice if he obeys God’s leading, and we glimpse significant pieces of his backstory, as well as how he thinks, feels, and makes decisions. I love Micah because he’s a real guy facing difficult dilemmas and internal conflicts. He also has this unique relationship with and calling from God. Watching him navigate these things, learn who to trust, and make hard choices makes for an exciting story. I didn’t think I’d like the change in point of view (from the first book, which is in Sera’s POV), but being in Micah’s head gives me a new angle on the story, and I ended up liking him even more as I read his thoughts/feelings. He is sensitive and responsive, but still so masculine, handling tough situations with gritty strength and courage. The situations he faces, the memories he works through, and the challenges he overcomes are woven together in a darkening story that fleshes out what it likely would be like to live through these dark days mentioned in scripture. I was surprised to find I liked this book even more than the first! Highly recommend!

This is book two of a cracking story. That takes up much of the Biblical prophecy of the End Times. It is very well written and a book I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I would recommend all three volumes available, and look forward to reading book four when published.
