At first I didn't think I'd be interested in this story. I'm glad I read it. It was really good and I definitely enjoyed it.

Samuel , a dragon, finds an injured Jessica, a werewolf, in the dragon's cave. She's frightened as she's been taught dragons are blood thirsty monsters. But Samuel is anything but which he proves to her over and over again. She has run away from her pack and can never return. Could she trust him

What a wonderful story about acceptance and loving without fear. These two can only say that fate bright then together and together they fought the differences between both their customs. This was a page turner that I couldn't put down.

I loved this story about Samuel, Alexander's brother, and Jessica, a wolf shifter.

Jessica was raised in a village of wolf shifters who have kept their town virtually isolated from the human world, and definitely the Dragon world, for many, many years. As a result their is no influx of new people, or new ideas. This means the mating pool is small and limited for each generation of wolves. Jessica finds herself in a position of being forced into marriage with the town Alpha, a nasty wolf that she greatly dislikes. Taking her chances and fleeing the only home and people she knows, Jessica finds herself alone and hurt when she falls into an icy crevasse. Things only get worse when she is found by a man she immediately identifies as a dragon shifter, the hated enemy of wolf shifters.

Samuel is just out to enjoy some fresh air when he discovers a woman, who is obviously badly hurt, at the bottom of a deep crevasse. His offers of warmth and shelter are firmly refused, though the woman does agree to let him bring her food and a pillow. As the two get acquainted, they find themselves inexplicably drawn to each other. After a passionate night together, Samuel begins to hope for something more, but how would he ever explain his feelings for a wolf to his dragon brother, the king? When Jessica disappears on him, leaving only a strange string of numbers on a piece of paper, Samuel realizes he must enlist the help of his human sister-in-law if he ever hopes to see her again.

Jessica can't believe that a dragon, a species that she had been taught to hate, was so kind and gentle towards her. When she meets up with a group of human backpackers and they share a meal and some companionship with her, she is even more confused. Humans are selfish and destructive, right? That is what she had always been told. When circumstances force her to return home to save her little sister, she never dreams that she could be rescued by her town's greatest enemy.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Protected by the Dragon: Dragon Valley (2)

Really loved this. A large amount of the Dragons rarely shifted, unless they had too. Their King was married to a human, and they did more these days in honour of that. But they all hated the wolves. Jessica was a wolf, her town was very closed off. She hated the alpha, he decided she was to marry him the next day, so during the night she escaped and ran. As she stood in the snow catching her breath, the ground gave way and she fell through a crevice, breaking her leg. Samuel was brother to the Dragon king, he liked to escape all the hustle to be alone. His new sister in law wanted to help him find his own mate, much as he loved her, he loved his alone time more and went to his favourite place in the depths that were no longer used. There he found her, hurt and asleep. Yet another good tale from Kayla Wolf, can't believe these books are the first of hers I've read. Hopefully won't be the last

5.0 out of 5 stars Wrong order but still great.

I saw book 3 and just had to read it. Then of cause I had to read one and now two. Sammie is just too sweet, the perfect mate. Our two lovers very much weaved the story plot between them. It was done with such skill by the writer, that each person comes to life, besides many not voicing a word for themselves. A read, as is all 3 not to be missed.

This book was every bit as good as its predecessor. I read this in one sitting too. Loved the action at the bravery of both of the leads, but also loved the sweetness of their discovery.
