    There's no particular order in which one should read Mrs. Hackett's books. They are fill with action, romance and pure adventure. Lore and Madeline's story wasn't the exception. In the book is Madeline's turn to face her circumstances and with the help of Lore she'll do so. Every gladiator has a fascinating background. It was nice to know that Lore was more than a few tricks. I can't into details because I hate to spoil the surprises for future readers but know this is a series that will tranport you beyond our galaxy yet it will be familiar in some aspects. Carthago is well describe without the long descriptions that sometimes take you out of the story. Our gladiators are protectors and the women are strong in each on her own way some thing that at times gets lost. Again, Mrs. Hackett does a great job at keeping the descriptions, people and situation grounded without the long sentences and ables you to add some of your own things while reading and that is amazing when you are trying to escape daily life while reading.

    Madeline Cochran is a aloof and driven woman. She is the civilian commander of the space station and was determined to keep everyone on it safe. When alien slavers attack her carefully controlled world shatters. The House of Galen gladiators welcome her with open arms but she still struggles to deal with her new situation, especially since it involves an attraction to a flashy and sexy gladiator Lore Uma-Xilene.

    Madeline is a very controlled woman. She doesn’t like things to be out of place. She has risen to the top by sheer determination to help her son, even if that means she can’t be with him. I really loved her determination to protect everyone and take care of her son. Her story was heartbreaking because she won’t get to see her son ever again, but Lore does find a way to make it a little easier on her, which made me love him even more.

    “I’m starting to realize I’m not broken...“I’m dented a little bit, but I’m not broken.”

    Lore is the showman gladiator that everyone loves. He is also a very kind but protective man. He was raised by women and understands Madeline better than anyone else. I found his abilities very fascinating and wish we could have seen more of them. Lore was just the perfect protective and sensitive alpha male for Madeline. I adored these two together and can’t wait to see more of them in future books.

    This book was nonstop action, danger, and romance. I loved it. Hackett always does an amazing job with mixing action and romance. I am always captivated from the first page and don’t want to put the book down. If you are looking for some action romance books, check out her books.

    Like the previous reads, all the elements of an actioned packed movie ..violence, vengeance and victory. The MFC Madeline a bit turned off with her attitude at the start however she slowly succumbs to the MMC Lore carefree personality but when her workaholic attitude comes into play, a more dominant protective Lore is shown. The storyline concept is similar to the previous reads but the adventure is not. There is more building to the secondary characters and the saga continues ..a must read this series 👍👍👍

    Protector follows the story of type A personality Madalyn, previously in charge of the Fortuna space station, as she is rescued and comes to terms with a life apart from her son, the guilt of losing all the space station personnel (including Blane, who they search for throughout the book) and the fear of trusting people. Although she is stand-offish and rather prickly, keeping herself busy reorganizing the House of Galen, Lore finds her fascinating. Our gladiator hero is relentless in helping her get in touch with her emotions and forces her to accept help. He rarely seems to become defeated or angry by her constantly shutting him down. Along the way there are near deaths, terrifying creatures in the sewer, AMAZING rescue of not only one but 4 humans and a blue beast who will end up being my very favorite gladiator (his story is called “Beast”). Oh, and fireworks, illusions, our first Gladiatorial engagement, an intro to Zhim, and a cameo by Rillian. And mind blowing sexy times- can’t forget those! The Audible version is so amazing - Lore has this very unique way of talking that sets him apart from the others. The drama is near perfection when Vivienne Leheny takes control of this story with her voice- I highly recommend her audio version.

    Protector is the fourth book in the Galactic Gladiators Series. It is highly recommended to read in order.

    What another fantastic book in the Galactic Gladiator series by Anna Hackett. Not only do we get to see old faces, but there may be some new things that happen as well. Any fan of Anna Hackett's will definitely appreciate where she takes you on this journey and what she does and how she does it with the characters. We know snippets of Lore and Madeline's character from earlier books, and by the time we get to read more about them, their personalities are on point to what you would expect of them.

    There is a lot going on in this book and its definitely not one to be missed. Highly entertaining and very rewarding. A very big shiny 5 stars. 10stars if that was an option!

They sold her to other aliens the Srivar, who had an underground fight ring. From there she was rescued by Lore, who could not only fight as a gladiator in the House of Galen but als had a kind of magic on his hands and a very open heart towards Madeline....
    It was great fun to read the book, it had lively and interesting characters, a story line full of adventures and surprises. All together very recommendable.

    Ooow a fight club in outer space and like it said in the movie no-one talks about fight club. This was an amazing book, fast paced, adrenaline fuelled drama and excitement.

    Madeline was a harsh character in the first book and even after her rescue she had trouble relating to people and letting them in. But the illustrious Lore battled down those defenses and we got to see a different side to both of them.

    A brilliant piece of writing from Anna, each book just enhances the world she has created. I love the attention to detail and the way she describes the most interesting things allowing the reader to really visualise it.
