- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2021Cute book . I've read it to my Grandson Gremlin. (2years old )
That being said, I use the books I buy him to ask him to find items on each page. And what sound they make. Great book
- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2021Author Diane K. Yorke writes children’s book – and also illustrates them! Her current series the Puggy Tall Tales – to date eight Pug stories and THE PUG AND THE DRAGON is the current entry.
Perley the Pug sees a dragon in the sky, and in Diane’s fun rhyming pattern we read, ‘Perley the Pug was heading home one day when she saw a dragon flying. It landed by the riverbank and she noticed it was crying.’ When questioned as to the tears, the dragon tells Perley that friendship is desired but that everyone – including dogs and cats and people – fear a dragon’s looks. Perley goes on a flight with the dragon and sees the response over land, sea, and a zoo, witnessing the terror all creatures had. Perley reassures the dragon that she will be a friend, guides them home over a scenic route, and on the way dragon rescues a lemur, a fisherman, a horse, and a little girl in a burning village. The villagers all are grateful and say the dragon is their best friend – and dragon has found friendship at last!
Fine story, great illustrations, and an excellent message about looking beyond the surface to appreciate who others really are– this little book has it all! Grady Harp, October 21
