About the author

L. J. HARRIS is a mother, wife, introvert, and author. Her family is her life, and the very reason she gets out of bed every day. Coming a close second is her writing.
She found her passion for putting pen to paper in her later years, jotting down poems in birthday cards for family members, then publishing some online stories.
Approached by a publisher to contribute to an MM Romance Second Chances Anthology, it was then a spark was lit, and ever since, she's been unable to switch off the urge to share stories in both in the Gay Paranormal and Romance genres.
L. J. looks forward to continuing to share her love of the written word, and can be found at:

- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2019Format: Kindlei read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Aiden, a workaholic banker and Sebastian, a dentist. Aiden is suffering with his wisdom teeth and he goes to the dentist, where he meets Sebastian. Aiden is instantly attracted to Sebastian, but he is also flustered by him. When Sebastian arranges to operate on Aiden to remove his wisdom teeth, Aiden is nervous. Aiden's sister is a tattoo artist and she asks Aiden to come to her shop, where he sees Sebastian. They flirt with each other and Aiden is now wondering where Sebastian has a tattoo. When Aiden goes to have his teeth taken out, he is given laughing gas and reveals how he feels about Sebastian. I really liked this story. I laughed at Aiden and his thoughts. I loved how Aiden and his sister got along and i think he and Sebastian made a great couple. This was the first book i read by this author, but i will be looking for more.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2019Format: KindleDr. Sebastian Gibbs meets Aiden Cooper for the first time in his dentist's chair and between his charm and the nitrous oxide he uses to calm Aiden enough to work his magic, they manage to find a connection that is beyond electric. The insta-love is made somewhat more bearable by the ultra-cuteness of their connection, and each man's younger sibling, while not truly fleshed out, is sufficiently developed that we enjoy their brief appearances and their impact on the MCs' story.
The cameo appearances of Seb's parents and his ex while they're in Brazil don't really add anything to the story, except, in the case of the ex, an opportunity for Seb to prove himself to Aiden, albeit in a very unexpectedly public way. There's nothing in the lovers' brief time together before Rio to prepare us for that show at the end, and I felt that it sounded a bit of a discordant note. It didn't really feel "true", though that might just be me cringing at what happens. That's PDA taken to the extreme and is not really in keeping with who Aiden is shown to be, even with all the concessions he makes, such as the tattoos. That's what makes the ending -- and I'm not sure why it wasn't just the last chapter as opposed to a '"bonus" one -- less believable to me. It seems like a real stretch.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2019Format: KindleIn this charming and fun-loving story, L J Harris makes going to the dentist not always seem like such a traumatic event when you are looking up at an Adonis, in Just Like Pulling Teeth.
I instantly connected to the character Aiden Cooper, well at least the part of waiting for the worst case scenario before admitting to myself that it is finally time to bite the bullet and schedule an appointment with the dentist office. Depressed that the dentist he has seen in the past retired; he begrudgingly agrees to see this new dentist that his sister has been raving about. Aiden has his world turned upside down— not only for the brief relief that he will soon have once he gets the dental work done that is required— but because he just experienced an attraction so strong that it leaves him speechless.
Between a melding sister, a prompt unexpected meeting at a tattoo shop, and not one but two embarrassing confessions while under the influence of some laughing gas; makes this one extraordinary story of two men with completely different backgrounds, personality traits but an extremely strong attraction for one another.
I was definitely intrigued with this duo and without a doubt pleasantly surprised with the bonus chapters.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2019Format: KindleJust Like Pulling Teeth by L.J. Harris is a short contemporary m/m story about a dentist and patient. Aiden is a banker with an over-zealous work ethic who has no time for romantic entanglements, but intense tooth pain leads him into the path of sexy and determined dentist Sebastian. And what happens next is a sweet romance filled with humor, adorable moments and steam. Omg! That Bonus Chapter! I really liked this story and all the characters. Fun read with little drama!
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2019Format: KindleI received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review. When you read a book you usually have a lot of expectations after reading the blurb. However sometimes the book is just a really nice reading, simply relaxing and cute. The chemistry between the main characters and their relationship is refresher with a guarantee HEA. It is the type of book you want to read after a difficult day at work. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2019Format: KindleJust Like Pulling Teeth is a novella by LJ Harris and it's a sweet romance between a workaholic banker named Aiden Cooper and Sebastian Gibbs, the compassionate and hot dentist he goes to when the pain in his jaw becomes too much to bear. I loved that these two were so smitten with each other from the get-go, and the moments of awkwardness were a nice touch. That bonus epilogue at the end, however, packs one heck of a punch with a whole lot of heat that surprised me but that I appreciated nonetheless. Less than a hundred pages, yet still quite entertaining and endearing, this novella snags four stars. ♥
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2019Format: KindleI really liked this book, I just wished out was longer. Aiden and Sebastian were adorable and I loved them. Their familles were also great and really supportive and I loved that as well. I wish that it was longer, because I got really into it and didn't want it to end. It was a great story and I wouldn't mind revisiting these two.

Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIf you want to read a book that'll leave you feeling warm and fuzzy, this is for you. Lovely story about two guys who meet and fall in love. Simple as that. Delightful, romantic and sweet. Well written, I loved both Aiden and Seb, plus the supporting characters. Totally charming story, with a sigh worthy ending. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Story
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAfter reading this authors amazing story His Personnel Assistant I decide to try some more, so I grabbed a couple of her sorter stories first, to see how she held up. A cute novella set around going to the dentist, ugh. Aiden has his hangs ups and fears so he has an especially hard time but the pain grew too much for him. But in the end going to the dentist opened up a whole world and brightened his lonely and, lets be honest, slightly stodgy life. A truly sweet tale and over too quickly. It was kinda nice to read my old home country Brit talk, I miss that at times.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 Stars An Okay Story.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA story told in first person with Ethan's pov. An okay start and a good first meeting. A little help with Ethan's sister helps with a little matchmaking. An okay story, but I needed both sides.
Ethan had a problem with his aching teeth. Sebastian was his new dentist.
