Editorial Reviews:
International Praise for 'Quick Fix for Empty Nest Syndrome' ™
“Thank you Pat and Kay for opening my eyes to the many things I now see in myself as a mother and mentor and how I can develop these for the benefit of myself and my children.” Angela Twitchen. Spain.
“I love this Quick Fix guide. So many ‘how-to books’ seem to be padded out with unnecessary stuff and get thrown aside half read. This book is a perfect length and is packed full of solid practical ideas. As someone who is interested in assertiveness, I love the idea of being ‘sensibly selfish’, certainly something all parents need to do at times to preserve their own identity and not just be
There are some great ideas on how to help your offspring financially without sending beer money. And the warning about taking caution before acting as rent guarantor is sound advice and could save a lot of problems and expense.
Overall, this is a terrific guide and I would recommend it to anyone facing an empty nest.” Patricia McBride, Cambridge
“A year ago my youngest left home to go to school in the UK and as I read 'The Quick Fix For Empty Nest syndrome' I am relieved and reassured that I have indeed prepared my daughter well for this step in her life. It was I myself who was less prepared. Her big brother is still at home and I
realise that I still have a job to do preparing him to take the jump. Also time to good to have this guide along the way.” Lucy Vollmer-Hartas – Germany

Kay Newton is a passionate Midlife Stress Buster and a mum to three boys (Two YIP's or 'Young Independent People' and one husband aged 63!).
Originally from Yorkshire, she lived the dream life for 30 years in Mallorca, Spain by arriving on a private yacht and refusing to swim back! Leaving their grown boys to fend for themselves they downsized and moved to a two-roomed home near the beach in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Kay say's 'Life has never been better.'
Kay unites and inspires other Midlifer's to find their true life's passions and transform their mid-lives in a Sensibly Selfish manner, into an authentic life filled with their own purpose and passion. Kay says' 'By helping other's harness stress and put themselves first. Pure positive energy is truly contagious, when we pass this on, we can infect the world with happiness.'
As well as being a passionate author, Kay is an award-winning International speaker, workshop and retreat leader and hosts at the weekly online virtual Midlife Retreat.

Kay's personal circumstances meant that she was now able to understand and empathise with what her clients are going through.
Kay has recently worked with co-author Pat Duckworth to create a series of 'Quick Fix For' books. The first of which was launched in August 2015.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2015I am a man ..... I just checked ..... and all of the symptoms and doubts are ours as well! I guess we are trained to hide them better. And I am certain this is not good for us, for our relationships or for society as a whole.
This Quick Fix is well written and constructed and is very thought provoking whilst providing clear prescriptive actions to help all, men, women and YIPs. I shall be sure to leave this where darling daughter and son can see it too - they may be amazed!
Thank you Kay and Pat.

1.0 out of 5 stars bit too simplistic
Very simplistic, no depth - quick read but not really a fix
