Quick Clicks: Spelling List: Commonly Misspelled Words at Your Fingertips Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 30 ratings

This time-saving writers’ resource by sought-after book editor Jodie Renner is a clickable list of words and phrases that, for one reason or another, often trip up even good spellers and slow down their work. By using this handy alphabetical spelling glossary with lots of links, and also Renner’s companion guide, Quick Clicks: Word Usage – Precise Word Choices at Your Fingertips, you can find answers in seconds and get back to what really matters – your message and content.

Whether you’re a journalist, fiction or nonfiction writer, student, teacher, blogger, editor, or anyone else on a busy schedule (aren’t we all these days?), this clickable spelling list will save you tons of time. Not 100 percent sure of the spelling of a word, or whether it’s hyphenated or capitalized? Keep this resource on your screen or beside you on your Kindle or tablet or smartphone, then just click on the first two letters, check the word quickly, and you’re back to your writing project within seconds.

Although there are over 13,600 words here, this list is by no means comprehensive. If you send Jodie 15 additional useful words (not highly specialized or technical) at info (at) JodieRenner (dot) com, she'll add them and send you the updated PDF. Thanks!

This guide to commonly misspelled words and phrases is a time-saver for any writer. "Spelling on the Go" is a quick reference guide you can keep in the background of your work in progress. If you are not sure how to spell a word, whether it's hyphenated or not, or which of several homonyms is the right one, like peak or peek, weather or whether, etc., you can find the answer with a few clicks and get back to work quickly. This is a must-have resource. I give "Spelling on the Go," a 5-star ranking as an indispensable writer's tool for spelling.

To hyphenate or not to hyphenate . . . Is there an "e" in there? this quick and easy to use guide helps with some of the most common spelling demons without me having to go to Google and sort through the results to get the best answer. Jodie is a great editor and this is the latest in her series of practical writing guides. You can keep it open on your Kindle or your computer-based Kindle app for easy reference during writing sessions. Grab it, you won't regret it.

A dictionary has the correct spelling of all these words, but only Jodie Renner makes looking up words virtually instantaneous. Every word is quick-linked to the index pages, and every page links back to the index, so it's simply a matter of tapping and scrolling.

Plus she's backed up every "iffy" answer with my go-to sources, Merriam Webster and Chicago Manual of Style, so I know I'm right. (Asking "The Google" for correct spelling often yields decidedly nonstandard results.) Thanks, Jodie!

This is not a book you read through. This is a book you keep by your side on your Kindle when you're writing. A quick click in the book helps you find the spelling of the word you're looking for. If there's confusion like there, their, and they're, the book briefly explains the differences. It's a must have for people who care about their spelling.

If I were to change anything, I'd put more explanation about how to find the word you're looking for. However, it didn't take long to figure it out.

I haven't owned Spelling on the Go for 24 hours yet and I've already used it four times. The layout is simple to use and can be navigated with ease. This is going to be one of those resources that people say "I can't believe nobody thought of that before" about.

This is a tremendous resource for writers, but it doesn't stop there. My wife, who is a teacher, is already pouring through it and making notes for her classes. I recommend this book for just about anyone.

Jodie Renner is an editor with heart. She wants to assist writers in getting their work as clean and professional-edit-ready as possible, which ultimately SAVES THEM MONEY.

Writers are not the only winners here. As a professional editor myself, I can see Jodie's reference books becoming the preferred resources in my own office. You will not invest in anything else with as much payback value.
