A Vampire's Thirst: Quinn
Audible Audiobook
– Unabridged
Quinn Alexander is rich, handsome...and an ancient Vampire. He doesn’t want to be in Hong Kong for the launch of his next multi-billion dollar gaming sensation, but needs must.
Then the Thirst strikes. Like a bolt of lightning, quick as a snake’s bite...power surging through him at the same time as his craving for human blood rockets out of control...and if there’s one thing that Quinn abhors it's losing control. Of anything.
Lost in the backstreets of a foreign land, a scent assaults him, overpowers his senses, stuns him completely until he’s rushing headlong toward it with no thought other than to reach it and make it his. A shout, a scream, a cry for help...and Quinn knows it’s his Bloodmate.
Can he reach her in the meandering maze? And when he does will it be in time?

*Each of the books in A Vampire's Thirst Collection is a complete standalone with no cliffhanger, a heartwarming happy ending, and can be read in any order.
Oh my! I never thought I'd say this, but I loved, loved, loved Quinn! What a tasty treat for lovers of vampire romance and another example of why I love A.K. Michaels! In Quinn, the ninth release of A Vampire's Thirst Collection, Michaels once again pulls out all the stops with another fabulous addition to the collection. Quinn literally explodes with perilous danger, heartbreaking drama, heart-stopping action, agonizing angst, steamy passion, and dreamy romance from beginning to end! Once I started reading, I couldn't stop! I was completely mesmerized from the first page till the last and loved every single minute! Can you tell I really enjoyed this book? lol... Now, let me tell you why!
Quinn is a riveting, highly imaginative, well-crafted, fast-paced, easy-to-follow full-length standalone paranormal tale filled with danger, drama, action, suspense, and romance. The narrative is beautifully written in the third person with the primary perspective from ancient vampire Quinn Alexander but in typical Michaels fashion, we also get a secondary point of view from the female protagonist, tiger-shifter Amaya. The dialogue is smart, snappy, well-executed, and flows effortlessly. There's just so much I love about Michael's writing but my favorite component, by far, is the large cast of engaging characters. They literally explode from the pages, grab your imagination, capture your heart, and hold you prisoner from the first chapter till the last! In this latest release to the collection, Michaels gives her readers a pulse-pounding adventure featuring wealthy Scottish businessman and ancient vampire Quinn Alexander and his Bloodmate Amaya, a tiger-shifter and kindhearted thief who steals from unsavory criminals and gives to the poor and downtrodden. Quinn is handsome, courageous, fierce, imposing, and filthy rich. He's cool, calm, and always controlled, often to the extreme and very much a control freak, similar to humans diagnosed with OCD, which has actually served him well in the past with his business dealings. But for the first time in his life, Quinn's lost his steely control and finds himself completely at the mercy of a thirst, unlike anything he's ever experienced in his very long life. Yet, no matter the cost, Quinn's determined to decimate anyone or anything endangering his newly found Bloodmate, including The Directive, the organization responsible for policing all supernaturals. Quinn is an ancient vampire, a daywalker, and truly a force to be reckoned with, especially now that he's found his Bloodmate and focused solely on claiming and protecting her, regardless of the consequences. I'll admit, I didn't like Quinn when he was first introduced in Flint's book. He appeared cold, hard, unfeeling, uptight, completely heartless, very much a control freak, and a total a$$hole with no redeeming qualities, only interested in material possessions and making money, but it only took the right woman to bring him to his knees, and that woman was Amaya. *sigh* I knew it would take one very special woman to capture his cold, dead heart, and Amaya was perfect. Amaya is a beautiful, brave, selfless, caring, kindhearted tiger shifter who became an orphan as a small child, forced to live with a cruel uncle, and ran away to live on the streets at fifteen. She's spent her life surviving the only way she knew how, stealing, but attempts to balance the scales by taking only from criminals and giving the majority of her ill-gotten gains to the poor and downtrodden. Poor Quinn, he's so clueless. He has no idea what's happening to him until Jana Noskova, The Directive's second in command, shows up unexpectedly and corners him at a club in Hong Kong during an extravagant party for the release of his most recent business venture, a game app called Scales of Sin. I saw a different side to Quinn in this story and felt so bad for the big guy. Had it not been for his longtime friend and personal bodyguard Thorne and Jana Noskova of The Directive, Quinn would probably have wound up in a Directive cell or worse -dead, which brings me to one of the other things I enjoy most about Michaels' writing - the way she integrates familiar characters from other books into the current storyline. It makes the story so much more personal for the reader and in Quinn, we see several others from the cast in Michaels' first two books, including Directive second in command Jana Noskova, Henry the witch, and Mac, the werewolf from Scotland who helped Flint defend his Bloodmate. Plus we also get to meet a few new players that I hope we'll be hearing more about including Ace, Quinn's head of security, and a tough as nails ancient female vampire from Italy, Delia Constanzo, who also works for The Directive. I've always been fascinated by kick-butt female characters and so hope Delia and Jana get their own books!
Did I like this book? Yes, I loved it! Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain explicit language, sex, and graphic violence. Quinn is one scary dude who is accustomed to always getting his way, but he still made my little old heart go pitty-pat! But FYI, I hope you don't have a weak stomach because Quinn is determined to exact his revenge on the men who harmed his Bloodmate and believe me, it isn't pretty. Quinn is a fierce, bloodthirsty opponent who, as it turns out, actually does have a softer side. lol... But only for Amaya. This full-length novel is the ninth release of the collection but the third contribution by Michaels and, like all the other books of the collection, can be read as standalone. Was it perfect? No, but it was perfect for me! There were a few little boo-boos, but nothing that distracted from the story. Wil I read this author again? Of course! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! I was glued to my seat, white-knuckling my ereader, screaming at the top of my lungs, and shaking my fists in anger with my heart fluttering wildly in my chest as the pages flew as quickly as the time- and loved every single minute! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2018Quinn Alexander lives in the Highlands and is an old and rich Vampire. He's going to Hong Kong to launch his new app Scales of Sin. He's hit with the Thirst before he leaves and has his friend and bodyguard Thorne scared. Never has Quinn been sick but Thorne keeps him supplied with blood even on the trip to Hong Kong. Once they arrive, the Thirst is getting worse. Jana Noskova, the second-in-command of the Directive, wants to see him. She asks him how he's been feeling and he tells her what has been happening. She's in Hong Kong to find out who has been finding and ransoming Bloodmates. There is a Bloodmate in Hong Kong and now she's sure it's Quinn's Bloodmate since he's suffering the Thirst. Now the race is on to find her, but she's been kidnapped and Quinn is on the precipice of becoming insane. How is this going to end??
What a fast paced, action packed, emotional and humorous story this is. Another fantastic Vampire Thirst story and highly recommend it and the whole series!!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2018Once again the author hits it out of the park with this fast-paced, action-filled, rollercoaster of emotions tale. When you first met Quinn in Flint's book, he was a bit of a stick in the mud and I couldn't wait to hear his story. Quinn, the ancient Scottish vampire, is the epitome of absolute control...with a bit of OCD that makes things interesting. When The Thirst strikes him, it's like all his rules get thrown out the window. He finds himself experiencing a yo-yo of emotions that take you along on the ride with him. The twists in this story had me glued to the pages and surprised me in the end. You will get mad, laugh, and maybe even cry a little as Quinn fights for the bond that started with just a look and the scent of Scottish heather after the rain in the slums of Hong Kong as his Bloodmate is kidnapped before his eyes. Each book is better than the last and I can't wait to see what comes next!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great story with lots of twists and turns
Ancient vampire Quinn Alexander is rich and handsome and wishing he didn't have to be in Hong Kong on business. But suddenly the Thirst hits him and he suddenly craves human blood and is struggling to keep any sort of control over himself. However when he is lost n the rough and dirty backstreets he picks up a scent that takes over his senses and logical thought abandons him as he suddenly HAS to reach whomever it is that he can smell. Then he hears a scream and a cry for help - can he reach her in time?
OMG - this story definitely had some new twists to the basic formula of a vampire's thirst story. I loved those differences and how they changed the story and the way it was developing. I loved the characters is the story and the way they interacted (or not). Very dramatic and full of a few unexpected twists and turns this is definitely a must for any fan of the previous stories as well as anyone who is tempted to give them a try. Clearly written and easy to understand it was very well written and very enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Vampires Thirst 3

5.0 out of 5 stars his best friend, bodyguard always by his side
Quinn Alexander gentleman Vampire so ancient he has seen history in the making. Thorne, his best friend, bodyguard always by his side. Amaya, beautiful, dangerous. Blood ties them together to never pull them apart.
We start with Quinn, he hates crowds, rarely leaving his isolated home in Scotland, heading to Japan to the one thing he hated, a presentation in front of hundreds. He shuddered, but needs must. He never expected to find his mate here. The Thirst hit him before he left his beloved home, he would never cope, the hunger to feed, to slake this thirst overwhelmed him. His mate in danger, he would rip apart anyone who hurt her. Never knowing the danger ever present to them both. The book is so good, you feel their love, their pain, it flows out of every page. Recommend this book as a part of The Vampire Thirst series, but can be read as a standalone. Excellent series, highly recommend Quinn if you like Vampires, love, romance, danger. A*************

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow
If you thought the other Thirst books were good then you are really in for a treat with this one.
I love the descriptive way the scenes are written allowing you to build the picture in your mind and feel the emotions of the characters.
Quinn’s losses of control are breath holding moments, Thank goodness for Thorne.
The storyline was intense, exciting and had an unexpected twist! And we get to meet the new team set up by the directive to deal with the bloodmates phenomenon, Mac and Delia seem to have an interesting connection, I sense a back story there ?
The styles of the different authors seem to fit really well together to create a talented group who with each and every book bring a new and exciting element to the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good
Ah, another entertaining read by AK Michaels. For me I have to say this was the best of the series. I loved Quinn. His story was more active. It wasn't a case of him just finding his bloodmate and living a happy ever after, he really had to work at finding her in the first place which made this story more enjoyable. I really hope Thorne gets a book of his own, because like all of AK Michaels books, the secondary characters are appealing and intriguing.
If you love a quick paced PNR then Quinn is a book for you.
