About the authors
Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore in the U.S. but have had a weird wanderlust to live in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
Thank you for checking out my stories! There's more at www.marthacarr.com.
Join us on Facebook to hear about new books, giveaways, an idea rolling around about a universe-wide scavenger hunt at the end of the year and more. If you like the series please leave a review and send me a note. More adventures to follow - and thanks for sticking with me.
Michael Anderle (ok, weird talking about myself in the 3rd person) (1967-Hopefully a long time from NOW) was born in Houston, Tx. A very curious child, he got into trouble - a lot. What to do with an inquisitive mind when he was grounded? Read!
Ok, done with all of that 3rd person stuff.
In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I've been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.
The fans have propelled these stories beyond my wildest imagination and they should get all of the credit for sharing with friends, family and occasionally the random person on the street. They are fantastic!
Judith Berens is a figment of your imagination, made up of the fevered brainpower of Michael Anderle and Martha Carr, fueled by a lot of people helping them out - as well as all of you, The Fans. Great stories mixed with a lot of great readers equals more adventures to follow.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2025The final semester of high school has started. The friends start spending less time together as they prepare for graduation and their future. Over the course of their time in school, each member of the Squad has matured and developed their individual talents.
This was a fitting end of this series. The characters were well fleshed out. The continued growth and maturation of each of the students, as well as the solid support and guidance of the professors, made for a great story over the start of the first semester as freshmen through their final semester and graduation.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2019Raine Campbell is a necessary witch indeed in this satisfying cap to a most entrancing series. Nine books of top notch prose with witches, mages, shifters, and a host of other magical beings, even a dragon. These characters experienced tough magical training, attacks by mysterious monsters and dark mages, eye opening magical spells and potions, and parties and romance. The writing is superb, the characters well crafted, the scenes immersive, and the story unforgettable. Very well done, Judith Berens and Martha Carr. Brava. 😘
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2019This one was full of a lot of thoughts, memories but not a lot of action. So glad the future looks bright for most of the students.

It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement intriguing the stories.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2019In this book, the last semester of Raine Campbell's high school years, Raine and her group of friends enjoy the Louper finals, visits to the Kemana and unfortunately still have to deal with Cina and her dark plans. When they find that Madelyn is missing the group springs into action. Another typical semester for the group at the School of Necessary Magic!!! A page-turning read!

5.0 out of 5 stars School’s out!
Movie nights are fun! I really enjoy the ensuing discussions, and have looked up a few movies I knew nothing about. There are some interesting ideas and when they touch on things from other series in the Oriceran universe, it is very entertaining.
The louper games were real fun, too. I wonder if we will ever see anything like it?
Our characters have grown and matured since first starting at the school and it’s been fun riding along with them on their journey. The personal growth of individuals is lovely to see. I think this is such an important part of the series: teens grow and mature and learn, and this group most certainly is doing just that.
It’s always sad coming to the close of a series, but that’s also part of life. I do hope that Raine will have her own series as an adult.
In summary this has been another excellent series from Martha, and I definitely recommend reading it all.

5.0 out of 5 stars The end !
What a wonderful way to end this series. A lot more philosophical than the other books in the series but still with a great story line.
Please don't let this end here.

You can never go wrong reading anything written by the dynamic duo of Carr and Anderle and this series certainly doesn’t disappoint. A fabulous cast of characters, laugh out loud moments, danger and loads of action made this an intriguing and captivating series to read.
