On the Defensive: Book 3 in the Ryan Kaine series Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 4,846 ratings

Ryan Kaine is on the defensive…

Kaine, a wanted man on the run, receives a mysterious text with an address and the terse message: “Help them”.

When unscrupulous men try to force Greek restaurateurs, the Constantines, out of their business and their home, they stand firm. That is until the head of the family, Orestes, is attacked and left fighting for his life. Their neighbours are running scared. The police are turning a blind eye.

With one of
The 83 in trouble, Kaine flies straight back into the heart of danger, without a second thought. Trying to avoid the attention of the thousands of facial recognition cameras installed in London, Kaine finds himself waist deep in a mesh of treachery, lies, and deception, caught in a fight to the death that he cannot — and will not — lose.

If you like Lee Child, Vince Flynn and Robert Ludlum, you’re going to find the Ryan Kaine series compulsively addictive.

Pages are missing
I purchased the first three books in this series for my dad for Christmas. He just started reading book 3 and pages 13 through 24 are missing. Some pages are also cut strangely. He ordered the book again from Amazon and the chapters are labeled oddly. Chapter one is now the copyright page.

This is an awesome and justification for more than the 83. The story is full of good people but also the murders as well. This is also an edge of my seat reading and I'm just hoping the series continue's for a long while. These stories are that good!

The first book in the Ryan Kaine series sets up the rest nicely. The author writes well, especially for this genre, moving the stories along in a smooth and easily-flowing fashion.

On the Defensive, book 3, is simpler and more neatly (rather unbelievably so) written, but still a fun read. I do love the “Robin Hood” quality. I confess that I’m a sucker for Good Guys Win material—especially with a just cause.

I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. I suspect I shall gobble them up.

4.0 out of 5 stars "Kaine jumped, surprised by the contact."
Reviewed in Germany on July 31, 2022
Herrlich.
Kaine is not amused, rollt die Machenschaften piece by piece, layer by layer zusammen mit seinem Team auf.
Im Vergleich zu "On the Run" und "On the Rocks", fällt die action ab. Sie nicht überraschend, auch mag ich es weniger wenn Kaine als "old and skinny and short" bezeichnet wird, obwohl er in den early forties, lean and tall ist. Und in very good shape.
Vielen Dank.

As with the first two Ryan Kaine books, this one is impossible to put down. Each book could be read on it's own however, as I hve done it makes each story more interesting to read them in the correct order. I am eager to find out who this interesting man Ryan is going to sort out next.

This is book 3 in the series. All books have been good. The first is probably still my favourite, with this one to follow. This is full of action and is another pager turner. Ryan Kaine, the Doc and his pal are yet again up against the bad people in the world and helping the good. Another 5 out of 5 from me and I’ll be downloading book 4 to read in the future. Well worth reading the first three if you haven’t already.

    2.0 out of 5 stars 54% & 72%. really!
Reviewed in Canada on June 14, 2024
Book 1 & 2 were great! This book was disappointing in that the first 54% was a rambling. The story does not really begin until 72% into the book. Book 1 had a natural writer feel to it which continued into book 2. Book 3 lost that natural feel to it, it felt edited out.
