    I like the Ryan Kaine books…but this one annoyed me because this is the first one that doesn’t finish the story…not even close. If you want to finish the story, you’ll need to BUY and start reading the author’s other series about a DCI cop…I think that type ‘bait and switch’ is a pretty sad attempt to get readers to buy your books…how about just write good stories and have logical endings to those stories. NOW?………I’m wondering if I buy anymore books from this author, will the next story also not have an ending. Make up your own mind, but these books aren’t cheap…and clearly this writer is trying desperately to get his other series read as well.

Not everyone on his team is convinced that this one should be helped but Ryan decides she is deserving. Now to get her out. Maybe the bad guys will help, though it is not clear she will survive their assistance.

    I really enjoy the Ryan Kaine series. Another family member of the 83 is in trouble and so Ryan and Lara need to find a way to help Melanie Archer who is on remand for murdering her husband. Did she kill him and how does Ryan find a way to communicate with her? Read it and see how Kerry J. Donovan finds ways to make it happen.

    I have only recently discovered this author and have enjoyed reading these books (although No.2 almost made me give up and No. 6 not so good!). This book was up to the usual excellent standard, except at the end you are left not knowing how things turned out for the person they were helping. The story doesn't even continue in the next book of the series, instead you have to start reading a completely different series of books, something I won't be doing. Hope this doesn't happen again, because if it does I think I will give up on Ryan Kaine
