    I loved the story of Oliver and Roxy, they have wonderful chemistry together and share the same passion and desires when it comes to kink. But the story is full of twists and turns in the secret life that Oliver lives, and Roxy will be caught up in the adventure and dangers that prevail.

    Roxy is an independent woman, has built a nice career as a lawyer, and works at a major bank in London. She learned years ago that she enjoyed kink with her sex and had recently left a relationship that had become more abusive that enjoyable. She decides it is time to check out a new BDSM club called Temptations.

    “I had a rather filthy mind, and quite enjoyed kinky practices. Being tied up and having my backside spanked was, it turned out, something that turned me on. I took to BDSM, as it is widely known, like a duck to water.”

    Oliver Johnson is a man who is a senior analyst and worked at the same multinational bank and investment company in London. While he likes to be in control during sex, he doesn’t need to be dominant with a submissive. Meeting Roxy at Club Temptation is the beginning of a new relationship. But Oliver has secrets, and eventually, his secrets will interfere in their relationship.

    The plot will have Roxy entering Temptations with a co-worker to look around and see if the club would meet her needs since it has been six months since her last relationship. Meeting Oliver is just brief, but the next day it becomes evident they work for the same bank, she on the 11th floor and him on the 25th. This will be the beginning of their erotic relationship that will include spanking, mild bondage, and kinky sex, something they both enjoy.

    “It’s hard, I know, for some people to accept the sort of things we did together. But it is something we both wanted. There was never any coercion. I’m not a Dominant, in the sense of wanting a full-time relationship with a submissive. I just like kinky sex, and I want to be the top in that relationship. Out of bed, I want a strong, independent, funny, intelligent woman, and Roxy is certainly all of those. She likes being submissive in bed only.”

    The story will have Oliver and Roxy spending nights together, dinners out, enjoying each other, but then he just disappears, no word, no phone call, and she learns he has moved to America. Months will pass and then just when she is ready to move on; she sees him again at another BDSM club.

    Secrets will eventually have to be shared to protect both him and her, and there are those who are watching them both. Just when the relationship is getting serious, an out of town meeting will have Oliver missing in action and presumed kidnapped. Roxy has no one she can share with, except for Greg, a handler for Oliver. When months go by, the word to them isn’t good. The odds of Oliver returning are slim, his apartment is cleaned out, and she is told to move on with her life. But can she really do that when deep in her heart and soul she believes he is alive and will come back?

    Will Roxy move on with her life? Will she ever learn what happened to Oliver? Is the bond between them strong enough to hold them together? The story has intense moments, explicit sex scenes, and a love that refuses to give up. Will fate bring them back together and can they find their happily ever after?

    The characters in this book like similar things...especially in the kink department. The author wrote a story which was steamy and hot but also interesting to read.

    I was into Chapter Two of the book when I realized the so called kink the author advertises as power exchange is spanking. I did not know the publisher was Blushing Books when I downloaded this book. I avoid BB publisher because my experience is that most of the books are poorly written and so much focused on spanking. “Please spank my bottom” the heroine cries. Spanking is OK – don’t get me wrong. But please, let’s not have a spank-fest and call it romance, kink, or love.
    I decided to continue reading despite the disappointment…..and actually got through 74% of the book with A LOT of Skimming – and then decided I had enough. The author changes the WHOLE DIRECTION of the book and there are pages and pages about kidnapping, Middle East countries terrorism, torture, fear, mayhem and confusion. IF this was what I wanted to read, I would have gone to that genre. I just quit. “Action and Suspense” as noted in the book’s blurb should have included warnings for serious violence.
    There is a lot of off page references to sexy times – presumably real sex and not just spanking. But who would know? Roxy talks about shopping for sex toys – but the author never shows the reader any scenes where they are being used. There are pages and pages of Roxy in her head with a non-stop running monologue of how she adores the spanking kink, the sexy times, and how expert Oliver is at delivering.
    At 37% there is a subtle shift of story line – Oliver has ghosted Roy and disappears – this goes on for months and months before Oliver and Roxy hook-up again – he has a good reason for being “gone”.
    At 54 % Roxy discovers Oliver has been kidnapped (he has gone missing for the second time)– and then the book really takes a dive as the author delves into an international terrorist kidnapping with all the cruel and fearful details. This is where skimming the pages saves the reader.
    Then at 74% the author takes us to 1 year later – and I just quit. Still don’t know when/if Oliver will be back – but I have had enough. I wasn’t looking to read violence and didn’t care enough to find out if Oliver makes it back to Roxie or not.

    When Roxy sees a coworker at a kink club, she has no idea that the man will change her life in so many ways. Oliver is a sexy, dominant analyst at the bank he and Roxy work for, but he has a secret life that not many people know about. He's a charmer who isn't about relationships beyond some nights of kinky fun. But upon meeting Roxy at Temptation, life as he knows it will change irrevocably.

    For such a short story, there's a lot packed into its pages. Roxy and Oliver meet, start a casual but very sexy relationship, then boom, Oliver ghosts poor Roxy. Months after he disappears, he's back and there's more kinky fun. Then boom again and poor Oliver disappears thanks to his secret life, and poor Roxy's once again left in the dark about her man's whereabouts. Then more crazy action happens, and finally our couple gets their very long fought for HEA that happens in a sweet way. Whew! Such a lot happens in less than 100 pages.

    I liked Remembering Roxy, but I have to say that it felt a tad too casual and disconnected throughout. I kinda felt apart from it, and didn't ever feel the two were all that much in love or anything. Lust definitely. Love? Not so much until the very end with their sweet epilogue; that's why 3.5 stars rather than 4. I did like Roxy and Oliver, though, and thought the story itself was pretty great. I just wanted a bit more of a connection between them earlier on and for a stronger relationship development.

    I read this in one sitting, as I was hooked immediately and wanted to know how the story would play out. Nicely told in two alternating first-person voices.

    Roxy was immediately engaging and plausible, a woman who enjoyed kinky sex but wasn’t a sub. Oliver was exactly the sort of guy she needed to meet for an unpredictable and playful affair. Their intimacy and initial relationship were nicely described, a situation where mutual emotional attachments developed. Then the drama started, one twist soon followed by another, which was far more dramatic.

    In future, when I’m asked “what’s the difference between porn and erotica”, I have this excellent piece of writing to illustrate what good erotica can be. This is a romance story with interesting characters, emotions, drama and sexy lovemaking scenes.

    This is just the kind of book I like, so having seen a lot of pre-release promotion, I decided to take a look for myself.
    I found the first person narrative refreshingly natural with a nice touch of humour and had thoroughly enjoyed the first part of the book and the kink scenes when it took a completely unexpected twist that had me in tears for more pages than I can count.
    I adore erotic books that can still wring the emotions out of a reader, and this one was first class.
