4.4 out of 5 stars 606 ratings

Imogen Caroline Stewart-Huntington hasn’t always been a rich bitch, her sunshine blotted out by her husband’s need to soar.

Sloane McKinley Huntington III hasn’t always been a Devil, but the brotherhood was his ride to the next best high—a vice he couldn’t shake, until he didn’t have a choice.

Now, three years sober, he sees with clear eyes. Free from the shackles of prison, all he wants is a second chance, his sights set on one woman—his wife.

Imogen knows that money can’t buy love—but when the rough man who stole her heart barges back into her life, she can’t help but question if perhaps forgiveness will.

Born and raised in the Central Valley in California. My husband and I moved to Oregon while he was in the US Coast Guard and then to Texas for ten years before recently relocating to North Carolina. We spend our time with our two sons at all their events, screaming from the stands as they swim their hearts out!

Two people who grew up in high society decide to give it all up. When the husband goes to jail his wife goes back to the rich lifestyle that they grew up in.

While she is living in high society with a big house and parties to go to. She starts seeing someone, but he doesn't give her the spark that her husband has. The guy doesn't like her husband and has a merger with her dad to think about. She is seeing how lonely life is being in a house that is too big instead of a quaint house.

Her husband is out of jail and back for graduation of his brother. He shows her she has feeling and that he still goes too. She breaks up with her date and the way home and gets abuse.

When her husband finds out, he doesn't like it. They start to work out their issues when his dad dies. That bring the club down and they finally see them in high society. This makes them realize why she act the way she did.

It gives the club a new understanding of them. The club helps them though this time. They continue to work out their problems. In the meantime her dad tries everything to essentially sells her to other people for business purposes. This includes getting cops to do dirty deeds and works.

All this gets found out. The husband saves the wife. In revenge, he does something to his father-in-law. Not all dirty deeds are good deeds.

Finally will they get a baby?

In the name of full disclosure, I have to say that I have not read any of the previous books in the series before reading this one. That didn't seem to ruin anything for me, if anything it made me want to go back and read the other books.

So back to this book. Can anyone say douchebag? Because that's what Sloan/Soar is. A total douchebag. I cannot even begin to imagine, for those of you who read the previous books, how you were able to like him enough to the point where he got his own story. With the same woman he cheated on throughout the series!!! But miracles do exist, and I found myself on the edge of my seat while reading their story. It got me emotional at times, mad at others, and about 2% happy at others.

So then you're probably wondering why the 4 star rating... Well, that would be because I was so hooked on the story that i couldn't get enough of it in spite of myself.

We already know that this is the story of Soar/Sloan and Gennie/Imogen. They both come from big time money, however her family hates his. They have been together since high school, when he was 18 and she was 15. It all went to hell after she turned 18 and they got married. Soar really wanted to be soaring. While high as a kite that is. His father had been a douchebag himself and Soar ended up becoming the one person that he had hated all his life. He ended up creating a nightmare of a life for Gennie, his wife, who stood by him and let him suck the life out of her every time he decided to get high on drugs and alcohol and screw anything with boobs attached. They do get their happy ending, but it was totally bittersweet for me. I was mad at her for not making him suffer pretty much at all. He got away with what any professional cheater is dreaming of having. But she chose to believe him when he said he was sober and done with the drugs, and he did seem to be, even though he was lying to her face when promising her the moon.

Next stop will be Ivy and West (I don't remember his road name). And I can't wait.

Sloan aka Soar and his wife Imogen aka Genny have been together since they were 15 years old... Even after 20 years she's still putting up with his crap. The cheating , the drugs and drinking and him not coming home at all and abandoning her every night. Well she's had it!! He was arrested and sentenced to three years. She's had enough and leaves. She goes back to San Francisco where they grew up. She tries to get on with her life but he's still there in the back of her mind . No man can live up to Sloan for her. No man will ever be enough for her. Can she go on without him ???
I can't ever get enough of Hayley Faiman's writing... it's like an obsession. This book was soooo good. I read it in one day .

Loved their story. Had no idea this author was going to write about them. Boy Genny’s Dad was a piece of work. What an ass. When Soar realized he loved her, good lord look out. Hate it but this is a spoiler....I was so afraid and had to stop reading when Graham came to her house the last time. I had work to do and had to put my book down. I could hardly finish my meeting for worrying about Genny. It almost killed me. You have to read this series but I think this was the best book in this series.

I really enjoy second chance romances especially with couples that are already married; I like to see the give and take that’s the dynamic of a couple that have known each other for years... Imogene, however is one of the most spineless women I have had the unfortunate pleasure to read. I get that while married you can get into a cycle of turning a blind eye and to stay for the sake of staying but good god woman! You left your man, now do something with your life. Make him beg and grovel, make him prove his words not just have him say yep my bad I was an addict but I’m clean now. There wasn’t a lot of growth with her, if any. Now him on the other hand, we as the reader can hear his inner monologue and see his guilt and see his change. How does she know any of this if she lays down and takes him back time and time again. But even through all this I don’t love them as a couple. I saw a lot of potential but ultimately it felt like it fell flat. This is the sixth book in the series and while I’m mostly enjoying her books, I do wonder why it seems like most of her heroines accept cheating so calmly and regularly. Just because I see chocolate doesn’t mean I should be eating it for god sakes! But I am a glutton for punishment and it’s spring break and I just can’t stop a series when I’m so close to the end. Hopefully the next book will have people who have a relationship that’s worth fighting for.

This one was brutal. Soar was definitely a 1% biker. There were many times I wanted to slap him. Definitely not an easy path to love. Great read

I loved this book - though our leading man, Soar, drove me crazy!! I wanted to slap some sense into that man. I have really enjoyed reading each book in this series and looking forward to number 7.

I really love Hayleys books. The writing is strong. The only thing I didn't like about this book was the cover. He looks fifteen instead of forty. The other covers were perfect.
