I loved this novella trilogy. They must be read in order, and they are, of course, shorter. But they are good.

I really enjoyed the characters and world of this storyline, though I wish it had been longer, more of it. I loved the depictions of family life, the care and consideration of the tribe, all of it. It all speaks to a completely different time, one that one, at least in some ways, simpler and more heartfelt, even while wilder and more dangerous.

    A great read overall.

The conclusion to the Riding With Warriors series is as thrilling and sexy as I thought it would be with the threat of danger and retribution hanging over Alice and her men, and the need to keep her safe.

My favorite part about this series is how Ms Harlem has given each man one book so they get plenty of time on the page and for me to get to know them. I've been excited about getting to know Yas. They say the silent on run deep and hold the most secrets. I'm certainly not disappointed with Yas. Even though he doesn't speak he finds ways to communicate from sign language to tender gestures and wonderful paintings. He's equally as protective of Alice as Hinto and Mahpee are and takes great care of her. He's also passionate and sexy. I love the image Ms Harlem creates of these strong, virile warriors.

I love how Alice continues to learn new things and adapt to her new surroundings. Her openmindedness and her kindness does her credit. She's such a sweet, tender soul even when she was faced with hardship and danger. It makes me happy to see her cared for and cherished by her strong warriors who will do anything to ensure her safety and happiness.

It's wonderful to continue to uncover more and learn more about the Chochmi culture. Ms Harlem has done them such justice with her care and respect for the culture. In this book she's woven even more aspects of the culture into the story and it certainly brings it to life. I love the way she resolved the conflict and danger to Alice too. It could have gone so differently but well, greed tends to overcome other baser instincts, it seems.

I've enjoyed this series tremendously and I applaud Ms Harlem on taking on what could have been a potentially contentious topic. You can tell with each word written that Ms Harlem had the respect of the culture in mind as the story progressed. I certainly felt well immersed into it. She truly did it justice.

As Alice 'Brave Flower' is married, time has passed and the reader sees changes in Alice's life. She is now a Chomchi. She gets good karma after her scare with Old Conner. No longer mentioned in the rest of the story. It was a very good story with a happy ending. Now these books do contain sexual scenes that place these in the adult reading category. But with the scenes deleted it would still make a wonderful read. The life fact of losing a loved one, grief, survival, faith, hope and love are the focus from the trilogy.

Another successful tale of love, lust and giving and receiving. Lily Harlem describes all the actions as if the reader is included in the events.

It's the finale! I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, sexy story. This is Part Three of the Riding with Warriors series/book. It's a western, medium-burn, reverse harem romance. It should be read after the second book. There's still plenty of adventure and steamy romance. I really enjoyed this fantasy based on history. The Chochmi people are not historically accurate, but they are historically inspired.

Alice, aka Brave Flower, gets to know Yas better. She has a short - but sizzling hot - adventure with him while her other two men, Mahpee and Hinto, stay at camp to help the others and deal with Old Conner. I like how things ended, but the climax was kind of... anticlimactic. The resolution was sweet and bursting with mushy love stuff.

Having said that, I love how each part of the book is about one of the men romancing Alice. I like how they are real people, not just one-dimensional stereotypes. Lily Harlem lives in the U.K., and I feel like she was influenced by Hollywood while steering clear of old cliches. It's always a pleasure reading her work, so I was bracing myself for some common misconceptions about Americans during the Western Expansion, as well as Native Americans. Yes, there are some inaccuracies (see my review of Part Two for details). Yes, there are "cowboys and indians." There are covered wagons and "maize." There are also good people who know we're all the same on the inside. There's also the idea of universal, timeless love.

Read this with a grain of salt and an open heart.

A very flat story. Nothing really about native Americans and romance. Just about a woman having sex with three men
