- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2016I finished and immediately bought the sequel. Good read that'll keep you hooked.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2016I received an advanced copy of Radiant Decay with no implied intent. The decision to review was my own and not asked for.
Following right along where Nascent Decay left off, this book once again dives right into the action, be it the literal ass-kicking type action or the more subtle political posturing and string pulling. The focus shifts away from Rhylie (sort of) and we get to see inside quite a few more heads this time around.
Admittedly, with such a large cast, I did find that there were some people that I had a hard time remembering, but none so much that I felt lost and it was easy to pick up the plot again with the handful of clues to each personality this time around. I rather enjoyed exploring Mersi's story arc. She assumes a much larger and more complex role in this book. Also, although it was at times physically difficult for me to read his scenes (seriously, he made me itch!), Adam was very well done. Getting into his head was a reminder of the dark madness that is central to this series.
Overall, this was an even better read than the last. If Hash can keep the rest of the series half as intriguing/well written/ convoluted as this, he'll have a game changer on his hands. Recommended for anyone who enjoys the darker side of sci-fi.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2016Great book! This is book did pick up right where Nascent Decay left off. There was lots of action and lots of characters. I was so into this book I didn't keep very good notes about this one. I enjoyed it though! * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
