    I read book 1 - Snow Falling - and loved Snow, Christopher and Simon. I then read book 5 - Snow Storm - because it was also about Snow and his family. From there I had to read the rest of the series ending with Raven's Hart. I rate all 7 books at 5 stars. The characters are amazing and who would think you would love a mob boss, the head of an assassination organization and all the gangsters who work for Christopher Manos and the hit men who work for Black. Trust me, you will. All of them are loyal and have difficult backgrounds that made them who they are. The character development is what makes them so redeeming. I love Snow most of all, but it is Poe and Phin and their struggles that broke my heart. They do eventually get their happy ending but what a journey Davidson King has taken us on. Read the series in the order they are written. I went back and re-read book 5 and appreciated it so much more once I understood all the characters involved in the first four books. Maybe, this author could write an eight book about Simon when he graduates from college and sets out to be his own man. Fingers crossed!!!

    A worthy and fitting end to this series! This time it's finally Poe's turn to have his story told, and wow do we go out with a bang! The entire gang ends up together in this one: Poe (and his SO!) take the lead in a final showdown to save Haven Hart and everyone we've come to know and love throughout the series is here for this one. Snow, Christopher, Black, Riordan, Teddy, Lee/Jones/Ginger, even Simon has his screen time in this one. The mysteries of Haven Hart are finally revealed after all this time and the action is intense! Almost immediately we're drawn into this final battle and having everyone on screen in so many scenes is one of the highlights of this book. So not only do we see Poe get his HEA, but we watch the whole gang finally coalesce into the true "Avengers" they are (for lack of a better description).

    Knowing what I know now about this book, would I still read it if I went back in time?
    Definitely!

    See below for the four criteria I use to decide whether and when to read a book

    CHARACTERS: I found Poe and his SO to be more 'main character worthy' than Lee/Jones/Ginger from the previous book, so it was already a plus because I was so invested in them. We pretty much hit the ground running. Within the first chapters we see everything change so suddenly for Poe and realize exactly how much he's been holding on and is now barely holding on by a thread. He was such a background character throughout the series and by this point, it's really fun to watch him take center stage and be the true bad*** that he is! He easily holds his own with Black and Christopher and it's so clear why. We have such a host of characters in this one and honestly, we finally meet his SO and I thought that backstory was incredibly neat too! I won't say more there because none of it is mentioned in the blurb, so no spoilers!

    PLOT: The final showdown. Now it's all of Haven Hart on the line. Not only does Poe need to protect it, but Black and Christopher and all the people in their worlds are on the line too. So the plot is fast-paced as they all come together and attempt to outwit and stay five steps ahead of our antagonist to keep Haven Hart from crumbling (sometimes literally!). The stakes are high, the action is high, but the balance feels so right. It feels like a challenge worthy of these major bosses of the city that they have to come together to handle and can only handle together. It's the best sort of found family!

    EMOTIONAL INTENSITY: There is no good/bad here. Sometimes I just want a low-investment entertainment read whereas other times a high-stakes 'I need a therapist to recover' is what I need.

    4:5/high. I think this one is high partly because we're now seven books in and I'm thoroughly invested in the world and the characters. At the same time, it's the finale of the series! Thankfully it isn't anything that left me anything but super entertained.

    CATHARTIC FULFILLMENT: Is the emotional journey worth it? Do I finish this book feeling that I've crested the wave of the climactic moment and everything has been settled, leaving me settled and fulfilled?

    95%. I do wish for that tiny little bit near the end with the final climactic aftermath as well as just a little more time with all the characters (re: a denouement long enough to match seven books worth), it was still a fulfilling end.

    I need to start this off by stating Poe and Phin's story was absolutely brilliant! This is the last book in the HHS and it gives us the back story of Poe, You must read this whole series to understand and feel the emotional connection this last book gives us. Without giving away any spoilers, this story gives us the complete history along with some great surprises with Poe and Phin.

    This story is woven with so much emotion, and has very intricate parts from the whole series, it is mind blowing how DK was able to bring so many pieces to the puzzle but yet not make it unnecessary fluff. She gives us glimpses of Poe and Phin's past that shows how these two grew their love.

    Bringing all our favorite characters back together and seeing the bond they have and how they work as a team to bring down the threat to Haven Hart was just genius.

    Now for me the epilogue was my favorite, I truly had tears while reading it. How she brought the beginning and end together was phenomenal. I can only hope that this story has a spin off!

    I'm not really one for putting spoilers in my reviews, but what I will say is...this is a must read series and you'd be doing yourself a huge disservice if you don't read it! Davidson King is a master of all the wonderful words!
    All of our favorite characters from every book are back to helpPoe in his time of need. Everyone of them from the very beginning 'Snow Falling' with Snow and Christopher Manos to 'Triple Threat' with Ginger, Lee, and Jones are there in Haven Hart to help Poe and his fight to preserve the Hart legacy. These characters have become a part of our lives and they have definitely made their mark.
    This is a must read series and I guarantee you will not be sorry. Each book builds upon the last so that by book seven you wind up with a wonderful climax!!!
    I very highly recommend it! Happy reading!!!!!!!

    What a brilliant ending. Phin and Poe would probably be my new favourite couple. The love they had for each other jumped of the pages and how they included their daughter in everything was wonderful. All the characters from the other books were in this book. It was such a good ending and a great series. The only thing it didnt explain was what were the secrets of Haven Hart? But it didnt change it was a great book.

    What an amazing end to what turned out to be a fantastic series. This book is a brilliantly written and keeps the reader gripped until the very end. The characters have been developed over the series and that just makes the reader more invested in them. There were times throughout the book where the author makes the reader hold their breath, times to laugh and times to weep! All signs of a great book.
    Finally Poe has to put Haven Hart back on safe ground. Throughout the series Poe has secrets that keep the reader guessing but finally you see the truth behind the man. As with every book in this series the support of the most unlikely friends is essential to a successful conclusion. These men have to trust each other, support each other and fight at each other's sides one last time and pray that it is enough. The fantastic characters from previous books come back for this one fight that will take them all to figure out. Finding out the secrets Poe has been keeping is very exciting and some are unexpected.
    It is always sad to see a great series end but I could think of no better way to end this one. Really well written and captivating from the first word to the last. I definitely couldn't recommend this book strongly enough. Although you do have to read the would series to appreciate the amazing end. Really enjoyed reading this series and definitely one to be reread.

    Tears are falling as I write this. That this is the final chapter hurts my heart. It’s a book get over it is the thought that lingers in my mind but...the characters and storylines are so great that you can’t help but become attached. This is one series that I will return to time after time.

    I am glad we finally got Poe’s backstory. I am glad he finally can tell Snow and share his burden. Have to love Phin and Adelaide.

    Can’t wait for next new cast of characters from Davidson King but I will wait patiently.
