    This is the second book in the Denver Troubles series. It's a a fast-paced and standalone book that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. There's action, adventure, drama, danger, suspense, twist/turns, enemies, survival, intrigue, humor, communication, misunderstandings, family, friends, anger, fear, kidnapping, confusion, romance, passion/lust and love.
    This is a story about a wolf shifter who doesn't want to imprint with his mate. Why? Maybe it's because of the two children (one daughter and another on the way) from another man and he's not sure if he can raise them as his own. Add into the mix "hunters" who are stealing shifter children.
    Read to find out what happens. Can't wait to read the next book by this author. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    Rayne and Jacob were high school sweethearts. Convinced they were mates. When Rayne turned 18, they found they were wrong. Rayne was pregnant and they decided to stay together. Jacob had had enough and left her with a young child and now another on the way.
    Zac has the best nose in the pack. His wolf has wanted Rayne since she started working for him a few years ago. He has suspected they were mates but he refrained from touching her since she was already mated. Now that she is free, he has to know.
    Rayne has been drawn to Zac since she met him. When he touched her she know why. They are mates. Can she trust him not to leave, will be love her children.
    Zac is thrilled to know Rayne is his mate. His wolf is fine with her already having pups. The man isn't so sure how he feels about raising another mans pups. Should they bond to protect their wolves then go their separate ways.
    When little Annemarie is taken Zac will do anything to find her.
    An emotionally charged story. I really didn't like Rayne. She comes across as egocentric. Maybe hormones played a part, or reactionary may just be her default. True that mom's are protective and their kids come first. True Jacob could have handled things better, in his leaving. Zac was honest in his feelings and trying to wrap his head around an instant family. Trying to figure everything out. I liked that their happily ever after is a work in progress. Life is messy. I liked that Jacob wasn't vilified.
    Good story. A little more is learned about what the hunters are up to. A nice to end their story. Looking forward to the next book.

    I can completely understand how Rayne was feeling when this story got started. How would you feel if the person you were building a life with just left. These are reason people should always talk in any relationship so everyone knows how each other is feeling.

    There will be times you will laugh, but many times as we go through the drama you will even cry. This story will engulf you and you will not want to stop until you are finished. You want to know what is going to happen, because every good story has to have the bad too.

    Hold onto your seats for this ride.
