Rebecca Sharp always loved a good love story. Let's face it, when you include a romance novel on your 8th grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn't!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. There's really no corner of romance that she doesn't (or wouldn't) enjoy writing, except maybe aliens, much to her husband's dismay, so her large catalog features a little something for everyone. However, her love of shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds makes her favorite stories to write the ones with some kind of suspense and crime solving.

When she's not writing, she's at her office treating patients, and somewhere between those two things, you'll find her wandering the globe with her husband always searching for their next adventure.

This series. It just gets better and better. This was by far my favourite so far. They say it's always the quiet ones that are the freakiest, right? Well, this is certainly true for Dexter Covington. What's that other tagline? A girl wants a gentleman in the streets, but a beast in the sheets? Jo definitely got that, and then some! The steam in this book is next level. I'm still overheating just thinking about the stuff that happened in this book. SCORCHING 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Getting to see his caring, protective Covington side come out was like witnessing night and day. His alpha male, caveman/neanderthal tendencies weren't really a surprise, considering who his brother is *cough* ACE *cough*. His kinks? WOW I knew it would be an intense book, but NOTHING prepared me for the twists and turns, the angst, the suspense. My heart was tripping over itself the entire time I was reading. Jo is such a strong character. Caring, understanding, vivacious, beautiful - inside and out. But, her weakness lies with her feelings for Dex, there is no denying that. He could be thinking of saying jump and she would already be in the air. Although, I guess it's a positive trait to have, hope. Gah, the epilogue. I OFFICIALLY melted. A big explosion of warmth in my chest - happiness. That's all I want to say. I don't want to ruin it for anyone. I. WAS. MUSH. Bring on Roc's book!

    This is the story about Jo who was a child star in her past. She went through her share of drugs, alcohol and sex in her past as well. She left Hollywood and is starting over again at a Woman's Center called Blooms. She just found out that someone has stolen her identity and her friend suggests that they go and talk to Dex who is ex CIA and ex soldier who now works with his brothers at Covington Security. He works cyber crimes and could easily help Jo.

    Jo has a crush on Dex and is uncomfortable asking for his help as he is always so gruff with her. But when they go to see him Dex jumps in with both feet and vows to help her. While there Dex gives her a burner phone also as this person also bought a new phone under her info and had hers turned off.

    Things quickly continue to get worse for Jo and Dex demands that Jo move in with him so he can keep her safe. What Jo doesn't know is that Dex has sworn off any relationship with women because of something that happened to him while he was in the military.

    Holy cow do things ever get good. Love the struggle these two have. Heart wrenching and addictive at the same time. This is a truly must read story. Enjoy!

    Beguiled is a great addition to the series. This is Jo and Dex's story, I absolutely love this couple together. They even eachother out. Their story has been brewing since Carmel Cove series. The chemistry between these two will finally explode.
    Jo is out going, full of life and laughter. Dex is serious and hates socializing. Dex has demons but he needs to let someone in. Jo needs his assistance on a personal problem, he moves her into his house to protect her. Jo will seduce or poke her Beast until he falls madly in love. Loved the banter between all characters.     I loved Dex and Jo's adventurous romance story. Loved the story throughout and characters. However, the guy on the cover should have the "Clark Kent" glasses on that was described through the series in describing Dex. That was part of the sexy description of him. Definitely recommend the series, all the characters are well written and interesting to read about.

Jo needs help when her identity is stolen and she knows her BFF is right, in that Dex can help to get to the bottom of things and help sort things out. For Dex, he knows he can't turn her request down, but it is going to be hard to keep to his self imposed penance. This story was good, but his taste ran dark. I get it, but it was a little more than I prefer, but I still liked their story. My favorite is still book two!

    I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from Dex and Jo’s story….. but our leading man was more than I imagined him to be.

    The thread of the story is relatable as you hear so much now about identity theft and the effects it can have on people. When things go wrong, Jo needs Dex’s help, even if that’s the last thing she thought she ask him for……

    Dex hides behind his computer screens and work and doesn’t let a lot of people in. Due to circumstances out with his control in his past, that he still carries the weight of, he chooses to be alone and isolated…. that is until events around Jo take a dangerous turn and he finds himself in close quarters with her and things between them start to change.

    Jo has had quite a chequered past, growing up in the limelight then hitting rock bottom, she hasn’t had her troubles to seek. She’s a fighter, determined, lives her life to its fullest and I really liked her strength of character.

    This pair are so different, Jo is the light to Dex’s dark, but once they get together they are combustible and make a great couple.

    Thoroughly enjoyed this instalment in the series.
