About the Author

Dr. Rebecca Sharp is an internationally bestselling author of contemporary romance. By day, she is also a doctor living in Pennsylvania with her husband. Growing up, she always loved a good love story and let's face it, when you include a romance novel on your eighth grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn't!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. She also enjoys traveling with her husband, snowboarding, and cooking.

Mia Madison hails from New York City and lives and works in Venice Beach, California. A lifelong lover of storytelling, she brings to her work an extensive theater background and an obsession with stories of love lost and found. She is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.



Eric Michael Summerer is a voice actor and producer who has narrated numerous audiobooks as well as countless instructional recordings and video games. Rebecca Sharp always loved a good love story. Let's face it, when you include a romance novel on your 8th grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn't!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. There's really no corner of romance that she doesn't (or wouldn't) enjoy writing, except maybe aliens, much to her husband's dismay, so her large catalog features a little something for everyone. However, her love of shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds makes her favorite stories to write the ones with some kind of suspense and crime solving.

When she's not writing, she's at her office treating patients, and somewhere between those two things, you'll find her wandering the globe with her husband always searching for their next adventure.

    When trying out a new author, I often skim through the reviews. It's not the 5🌟 I go to read but the 1 and 2's. And I almost passed on this because of one of them, saying that the emotions and certain things in the story didn't make sense.

    But I'm glad I clicked purchase. Because this book was honest about a lot. When you grow up in a certain household, there are things you value and want to take with you. And there are things you don't. Taylor grew up in a house that "forced" God and scripture in a way to uplift those outside the home, but condemn all decisions inside. Taylor believed in her faith and God, but not her parents actions. You don't need to be in a church to build your relationship with God or your faith.

    Ashton's character showed two sides of the same coin. It's something we all have in us. Ash had this amazing compassion for those he loved, helping fulfill so many roles while forgetting about himself. As a result, he drowned himself in alcohol. It's never really an excuse BUT when he realized it was hurting those he loved, he made that change.

    While this love story "glossed" over a lot of the 'every day' moments, it highlighted those that mattered most. Both Ash and Taylor thought they were not right for each other, they were exactly what they needed.

    Family isn't always what your born into, but what you make of it. The people of Carmel Cove found that and embraced it, with life's ups and downs. Great story, definitely glad I clicked.

    Addiction and its aftermath lead us to the wonderful world of Carmel Cove. Ash ends up here after fleeing from all his bad decisions and his alcoholism, but not before seeking drunken solace with Taylor. The story picks up as he makes his way to Carmel Cove and Larry Ocean. Larry picks him up and sponsors him in AA, where Ash begins his long way back to sobriety. He manages to work for Larry until he has himself together enough to buy a restaurant and run down cabin. He has a booty call relationship but Larry lets him know it's not what or who he needs. Taylor tracks Ash down a few months later via Larry. Larry sends a very pregnant Taylor to Ashes cabin, knowing full well Ash has an overnight guest. Surprise. So good reading you can barely put it down.

    Wow is all I can say, Redemption is everything. I cried so much during this book, it hit so many places inside my heart and made me realize that I have somethings to look at in my life. For instance, my family is super judgmental and hypocritical, while claiming to be the most upstanding Christians in the state. If I even thought about walking into a dance club at 21, I was a whore and was going to jail even though I didn’t and still don’t drink. After reading this it made me realize that you can still love someone but do not have to be around their toxic behavior towards you just because they are family. Once, they are ready to stop acting that way they can decide if they want to be apart of their kids and grandkids life, yes that was a big ugly cry after what she told her mom. I love all your books but this one really touched my heart. Thank you for writing your wonderful books. I would give 10 stars if I could definitely grab this book to read, make sure you have a box of tissues beside you

    I have mixed feeling about this one.
    It’s well written and has a good story line.
    But a few things keep bugging me that I could not actually enjoy it.
    First of all, the rape at the beginning, if roles were reversed, everyone would have been pissed off Taylor but since it was a guy who was so drunk that she knew he won’t remember, somehow it was ok.
    Also the whole good Catholic Church girl thing, omg, it drove me nuts.
    Ash was alright but he acted like it was 5 years passed and not 5 months. It felt like too much happened in that time.
    Also the whole self deprivation over him doing something because he found out his friend and sister were making out!?! Like the whole reason for him moving away was confusing and insufficient. I don’t know. Steamy scene were written well.
    I DNFd it at 85% because I could not handle all the lovey dovey syrupy stuff happening at that point.

    Redemption is a prequel to Carmel Cove, Convington Security and Reynolds Protectors or at least my opinion this is were it all starts. I am glad I read Redemption before jumping into Carmel Cove and Convington. Absolutely loved Ash and Taylor's characters. The storyline will pull at all your emotions. Dr. Sharp has a way of bringing you into a story, she makes you feel like your sitting with her characters while they tell you their story. Its an amazing experience. I am not sure if I will read Blake's story because I love this version of Ash but I will be reading Carmel Cove, Convington and Reynolds series. Happy Reading 📚

    This story is not only about facing your mistakes and making things right it is about going after the things you have always wanted as well.

    This was a very emotional read for me but I loved every moment of it. The chemistry was scorching, the friendships were more than just friendships - they were family, and the pain of different events hit me like a blast to the chest. I sobbed like a baby a couple of times and when you read the story I am sure you will know when that was.

    I was thrilled to find out that this story is kind of/ sort of a prequel to a new series that will be coming soon. I cannot wait to read about the men and women of Carmel Cove.

    I would recommend this to those over 17 that enjoy Contemporary Romance especially those that enjoy the surprise pregnancy or siblings best friend tropes.

    This book was absolutely nothing like I expected. I’ve never read any of Rebecca’s books before but I seen surprise pregnancy & thought ah cute little read. No this book was so so much more.

    The words flowed like poetry & felt like they just reached out & grabbed hold my soul. I’ve never highlighted any sentences or sayings in a book before (unless I’ve fallen asleep with my finger still on a page) because none of have ever spoken to me before. But this book was just so inspiring is I guess the best word because it seemed like I wanted to save all the words. But Larry’s saying will stick with me for a long time to come.

    This wasn’t just a romance novel with some suspense, it felt like so much more. I read this with my kindle unlimited subscription but I will definitely be buying this book because it’s one I’ll want to reread again. Thank you Dr. Rebecca Sharp for this book.

    Wow, just wow! Steam level quite high, more than I was prepared for.

    But in so saying, I would recommend you hold onto your seat for you are in for one hell of a ride.

    This book really was about redemption. Not just for Ash who has his demons, an alcoholic or a recovering alcoholic as time goes by, but also for Taylor and those of the small community they find themselves in.

    This book touches so many difficult subjects but in such a way that is quite possible the most moving I have ever read. It touches on stardom and it’s effects in this case alcoholism, unplanned pregnancy, lack of self worth, of never feeling like you are good enough, and of suicide.

    So be prepared to fall in love with a bad boy who realised he needs to clean up his act, Larry the man who pulled him up by his boot straps, the town who became a family to him and the woman who never gave up on. Oh and have some tissues handy, you are gonna need them.
