Recapitulation (Songs and Sonatas Book 3) Kindle Edition
Launching my North American tour is everything I ever dreamed it would be.
Except …
I only see Gabby in weekends shoehorned around shows. Stolen moments where she can come to me or I can take a break to visit her. Holed up together in a hotel.
It’s better than nothing, but it’s a far cry from my ideal. Without her none of this would be happening. It seems wrong that she’s not with me.
I don’t want either of us to give up our dreams, but I’m not ready to let her go either.
Between my punishing schedule, jet lag, and distance the strain wears on our relationship and communication. I’m afraid that if we continue like this, something will eventually break ...
Part rockstar romance, part coming of age story, Recapitulation brings us full circle, back to Marycliff University, but with a twist. It’s a story of staying true to yourself and following your dreams in the face of pressure on all sides. The stunning conclusion to Jonathan and Gabby’s tale gives you everything you want in a romance novel—sizzling heat, heartfelt emotion, and most importantly, the happily ever after. One click now!

- Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2018I’m still swooning over the conclusion to this beautiful series! Gabby and Jonathan’s love for each other is so strong, so lovely, and so believable that you’ll be pulled into their story and won’t want to leave. Music is once again a captivating character, and the surprising direction it takes put a huge smile on my face. It’s perfect! As is the intelligent writing, wonderful characters, sweet and sexy love story, and just the right touch of tension. I loved watching how Gabby and Jonathan’s relationship matures as they deal with inevitable separation now that Jonathan has begun his concert tour. These two refused to let anything come between them! I loved it!
Do your heart and soul a favor and pick up the Songs & Sonata series. I’ve been a fan of Jerica MacMillan ever since she debuted, and this is her best work yet.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2018This is the final book in the series and it is a great ending to a wonderful love story.
Jonathan is launching his tour and it is everything that he expected and more. The fans are loving his music and his songs are climbing the charts. Jonathan only wishes that he can share his success with Gabby on a daily basis but it is not possible since Gabby is going back to school.
Gabby misses Jonathan and she is not enjoying school as much as she thought she would. Since she was out in Los Angeles most of summer with Jonathan working on composing and recording, she questions whether she wants to pursue an education and career playing violin in an orchestra. Getting to see Jonathan only on weekends when one of them can travel to the other makes it hard on Gabby trying to focus on her education.
Gabby questions her choices while continuing to compose in secret and then performing with Jonathan on stage. Gabby is insecure about what she wants, what Jonathan, and trying to live up to other's expectations of her. Gabby gets to her breaking point but an unlikely source helps her see things more clearly about what she really wants out of life - personally and professionally.
This is such a warm and heartfelt story about 2 young people trying to figure out how to get want they want professionally and be able to have the relationship that they want with each other.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2018I love this book series and I’m so obsessed with Jonathon and Gabby! I could not wait for this third book! Epic feels, epic romance and epic sexy-times! What a great conclusion to this fantastic three part NA love story! It’s all about the long distance heart-tugs and the creative ways these two make their relationship work, no matter the distance or restrictions, so so so hot! And Holy Hot Rockstar, I think this is the sexiest romance I’ve read by Jerica MacMillan yet!! I love how this story is all about this couple making their long distance relationship work. Gabby makes her own choices about her life and school, as Jonathon supports her, while making his rockstar tour dreams happen. It’s such a great read with so many unexpected heart-twists. I honestly love how Gabby and Jonathon just love each other so completely, it’s dreamy!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2018Recapitulation is the final chapter in the Songs and Sonatas series. I highly recommend readers to read Double Exposition (book 1) & Development (book 2) before diving into Recapitulation. Recapitulation starts right where Development leaves off.
I have always been a fan of Jerica MacMillan however; Recapitulation was a tough read for myself. I could not swallow the first few chapters of the book. I found myself hating on Gabby’s persona and her decisions making. You can say I became so irritated that I did not see the light out of this book. Nevertheless, boy am I GLAD I ended up sticking through it!
In this final chapter, Gabby and Jonathan once again presents the love that they have for music and for each other. Music is once again a captivating character in the story line. Readers will receive a surprising twist to the story. It definitely put a huge smile on my face! Perfection at is finest. I loved watching Gabby and Jonathan’s relationship mature, as they as well had to mature for their own need and success.
This series is definitely Jerica MacMillan best work yet.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2018I LOVED everything about this couple. They were just to dang cute, it was hard not to hate.them...lol Gabby and Jonathan mad Remy heart sing and smile. They had me smiling throughout three books...lol Though they were young, they were HOT. This was an extremely, well-written story and I'm totally looking forward to Charlie's story.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2018Recapitulation is the 3rd and final book in the Songs and Sonatas series and it did not disappoint. From the beginning of this series, the love story of Jonathan and Gabby has been captivating. Their relationship has been built and flourished through many ups and downs. In Recapitulation, they are again faced with the challenge of proving that their love is the real deal.
Jonathan’s career is taking him on tour and Gabby is back at school. They face a long time apart and have some more adversary that is thrown their way. Gabby is as strong-willed as ever in this book. She feels like a lot of people expect their relationship to fail and for her to fail. She seems as strong as ever in her determination to prove them wrong. Jonathan has to balance the revitalization of his career, his relationship with Gabby and his relationship with his family.
I love the way the author matures Gabby and Jonathan throughout the series. She is consistent with the supporting characters throughout the series and follows their relationship with main characters. Recapitulation focuses on Jonathan and Gabby’s persistence in making their relationship work despite everything thrown their way and people who don’t believe their love will survive the distance and stress that’s put upon it. This book culminates a fantastic series in which each book stood by the theory that loves conquers all. I highly recommend both Recapitulation and the Songs and Sonatas series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Will they both be happy with the result
5 Stars
Recapitulation is the third book in the Songs and Sonatas series by Jerica MacMillan, and seem to be the conclusion to Jonathan and Gabby’s story, but not the conclusion to the series- as the end of this story lays the foundations for a new book focused on two different characters. I am intrigued to see what Ms. MacMillan does with it, and whether it will live up to these last three books. I am excited to find out.
In this story we finally discover if Jonathan and Gabby can make this long-distance thing work, or if they finally succumb and crumble under all the pressure. Both of them have matured so much over the course of the series, both professionally and personally. They have also come to realise what is most important to them. Will this knowledge bring them closer together, or drive them apart? Will they both be happy with the result? Will their ‘happily-ever-after’ require a sacrifice that neither is prepared to make?
You really should read this series and discover all the wonderful details for yourself! It really is worth the read, especially if you love college/rock star/ coming of age/ following your dreams, stories.
Thank you, Ms. MacMillan!

4.0 out of 5 stars Recapitulation
Finally finished the last book of the triology and was a little disappointed with the ending. After getting totally invested in the first two book the HEA was not what I was expecting and I wish it had ended differently.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good.
An improvement on book 2. Still light hearted, low angst stuff but at least the story developed and the ending was satisfactory.
