Redeeming Jayden Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 40 ratings

JAYDEN BARRON

Twenty-two-year-old artist Jayden Barron is summoned home from New York City by his father to assist in the family business of painting and selling replica art to international rogue buyers. Nothing prepares him for what he encounters when he arrives, however. His entire family is missing.

Those his father has been dealing with rarely return missing people alive. The family attorney sends Jayden out of the country for his protection, straight into a haunted castle with a singing ghost who leaves him lilacs in the middle of the night. Fortunately, the castle also has Harlan Wendell.

HARLAN WENDELL

Affluent, generous, thirty-two-year-old, German translator, Harlan Wendell has every material possession he could want, but no love in his life. He hires young Jayden to recreate his family portraits lost in a fire. It isn’t long before he realizes that Jayden is much more than an employee to him, and they begin a relationship that fulfills both their desires.

When events take a dramatic turn and secrets are revealed, can Harlan protect Jayden and their love?

About Brina Brady

From the streets of Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, where I ruled as the eldest of five siblings, my life’s journey has been an adventure. After marrying my partner, we started a family and welcomed three amazing daughters into our lives. In 1973, the waves called, and we answered—moving to the sun-kissed beaches of sunny Huntington Beach, California. It was a dream come true.

Later, I married my loving second husband, and when family called, we packed up and headed to Indiana. Retirement opened a new chapter for me, filled with the laughter of my four adorable grandchildren and the company of two sweet cats. It’s a life full of love and completed goals.

For twenty-seven years, I taught at a Continuation High School in Los Angeles, California, where I shared my passion for learning with my students. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in History, a Secondary Social Science Credential, and a master’s degree in Secondary Reading and Secondary Education from California State University, Long Beach. I also took creative writing classes at UCLA, which helped fuel my love for storytelling.

Speaking of storytelling, I’ve been hooked on it since I was a kid. As a child, I’d spend Saturday afternoons writing novels while sipping on my grandmother’s homemade, comforting chicken soup. Even as a busy stay-at-home mom, I made time to write every day—it was my escape and my joy. Later, while teaching, I kept writing, though the demands of the classroom meant I had less time to devote to it.

Today, I’m a contemporary romance author who loves writing LGBTQ+ stories. My books often explore complex relationships and emotional journeys, with several series diving into BDSM dynamics. I also write MM romance without BDSM themes, focusing on engaging plots, well-developed characters, and plenty of steamy moments.

When I’m not writing, I’m indulging in my other passions. I’m an avid reader, always getting lost in new worlds and characters. I also love graphic design, where I get to blend art and technology to create something beautiful. And when it’s time to relax, I’m hooked on Turkish TV series—their rich stories and cultural depth totally captivate me. Each of my hobbies reflects my love of creativity, storytelling, and exploring new horizons.

The story begins when Jayden comes home to find his family is no where to be found. After reaching out to his fathers attorney, he is told that he he needs to leave the country. There he meets Karl who takes him to meet a man who may have a job for him. Harlan has a instant attraction to him and its not ling before it becomes mutual. Jayden decides after they start a relationship that he needs to go back to the states and find out the truth about his family. Harlan soon follows and helps Jayden find out the truth about his family and his father's lawyer. This book a sweet ghost that turns out to be a happy reunion. This is such a sweet story where two lost souls find each other and a happy ending. A must read for any Brina Brady fan. Loved it!

Okay, I can get onboard with dominate, secretive & powerful men. But try as I may, having positive feelings for Harlan was difficult. He does wonderful things for gay young men that need a stable home and influence. However, he is pompous and conceited to a high degree. Not to mention the castle seems more like a cult at times with the type rules issued by King Harlan.
Then there is Jade. One minute he is upset and feeling guilty about his family. The next he is pushing at a high rate of speed toward getting Harlan to bed and claim him forever! That is just hours after meeting the man in a foreign country!
I cannot even think about people like Karl who is a friend/former lover of Harlan. Mr. Wagner is a powerful man in his own right and fights back with Harlan, but also seems like a prime a*****e most of the time. Then there are the guards for Jayden, Gleb and Lucas who seem to go along with whatever. They all have a softer side that comes through at times but most of the time it is like they are controlled by Harlan. Maybe, "Stepford Men" type thing?
To me, there were no real meaningful conversations between anyone through most of the book. There may be one "deep" topic before someone jumps up and states they are going somewhere or changes to an entirely different inane topic.
I wanted to really like this book because there are parts of the storyline, I love such as the mystery surrounding Jade's family, older man, powerful men, etc. Unfortunately, it just did not hit the point above just okay rating.

Summoned home by his father only to learn that his entire family is now missing. Jayden is suddenly whisked away by the family lawyer and winds up in another country at the estate of one of the most breathtakingly handsome men he has every met. In a strange country where he does not know the language, Jayden is offered a dream job of reproducing lost family portraits. His missing family is never far from his mind and Jayden is torn between developing a relationship with his handsome benefactor or finding his family. As Jayden seeks to locate the truth of his family’s disappearance outside forces and obstacles threaten to take away not only his relationship with Harlan but also his life. This was a very light read with a bit of romance and suspense. The author has a wonderful way of weaving a story that will keep you wanting to read one chapter after another! If anything I have to say it ended too quickly (and that was because I was enjoying the word play!)

I was provided a free copy of this book and am providing an honest, voluntary review.

This is one of those suspense romance novels that once you start it you will stay up late to finish it. I don't like when people give out too much information about the book other than what is in the blurb but this has international intrigue, surprise characters, literal life and death situations with hot mild Dom/sub love making. There's a wonderful surprising HEA that had me shedding a few tears. What's not to love? Give yourself a treat and read this book.

I was intrigued by the premise of the book. While it is an interesting read, I did have a little trouble staying interested throughout the book. I did get to their HEA.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

When Jayden returns to his parents' home, both they and his brother are missing. His family's lawyer warns him that he is in danger as well and makes arrangements for him to leave the country and hide in Germany. He ends up at a castle owned by Harlan, who agrees to protect him and hires him to reproduce some destroyed family portraits. Both Jayden and Harlan feel an attraction, but Harlan is not ready to give in, yet. The action is non-stop, while trying to solve the mystery of his family's disappearance and to stay safe from unknown threats. I wanted to like this book more than I did. The characters seemed 2 dimensional and seemed to switch thoughts/actions at any given moment. I usually love books like this, but I didn’t love this one.

Jayden is summoned home by his father. Only when he gets there no one is there, the house is empty. The family's lawyer sends him out of the country to keep him safe. Harlan is tasked with keeping him safe painting portraits. Jayden wants to find his family and Harlan tries to help him. Redeeming Jayden was sooo freakin good, well written with great pacing. Overall, loved it!!

Well, I downloaded this only to find out I'd read it before but hadn't added it to my GR page or Amazon. I remember the story, I skimmed through a few pages to remind myself if I liked it so I can leave a decent review today. My apologies to the author for my tardiness.
