- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI really enjoyed this book. This is my first book by Kelly Collins but I think I am hooked now. I have to finish this series.
I loved how Ryker was so closed off and still angry about what happened when he was a child until Ana came into his life. Something about her pulled her to him and he just let go and gave in. I loved how she stood up for him against the Sheriff who has been causing him problems for years because he lost his father at the same time Ryker lost his whole family. Even the annoying little girl, Sparrow, that Ryker thought had died.
Ana's life hasn't been easy either. She lost her parents when she was a young girl and all she had was her grandmother. Then when her grandmother passed, she left her a house in Fury. With nothing holding her where she was, she decided to move and see what Fury could offer. Little did she know, she was going back home and into the arms of Ryker.
I'm anxious for the brothers to find their baby brother so I will be diving into Silas's book next. I will say that I didn't care for how Grace (Ana's best friend) lived her life, but I really hope she turns over a new leaf in Silas's book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is the story about Ana and Ryker. It starts with both of them being children (she is four, he is eight) who get caught up in a gun battle that kills their parents. They aren't related, but are born into a biker gang, which makes them family of sorts.
Ryker is now well into his twenties and has lived his whole life thinking that he was responsible for the gun battle starting. His little friend, Sparrow, was killed as well as several others, including the sheriff.
Ana lost her parents in a car accident. She was raised by her grandmother and was now living in a place where she the only place she has to sit is a lawn chair and her bed is an air mattress. When her grandmother dies, she discovers that her grandmother had a house in Fury, Colorado and had willed it to Ana.
Ana was going down in flames. She had no money and no prospects. Her graphic design business wasn't taking off like she'd hoped it would, she was evicted from her apartment, and now her grandmother was gone. Taking the small amount of life insurance her grandma had left her, she moved to Fury and into this house.
Ryker wasn't much better off financially. His brother, Silas, was overseas in the military and his other brother, Decker, had been adopted after the shooting when he was a baby. Ryker is selling almost everything he owns to make enough money to keep paying the private investigator who is supposed to be looking for Decker. Both Ryker and Silas believe that their parents would have wanted the boys to stay together.
When Ryker meets Ana, he isn't nice to her at all. She fights back. She eventually hires him to help her get the house fixed up and make it livable. Sparks fly in another, better, way and changes the paths of their lives.
I have to be honest here. I don't like the bird stuff. I have no aversion to birds at all, but I just didn't like that the people in the story named themselves after species of birds. I don't know why. I just didn't like it. I love the name Ryker and I loved the names of other characters, but the bird thing just didn't work for me.
The story itself, however, was quite good. I thought it dragged a little in areas, but it didn't last long and it was off to the races again. It has a few editing errors that need some attention (Hannah was spelled Hanna at one time and there were a few instances of a word being put in the wrong place), but other than that, this was a pretty good read.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAfter years in jail, Ryker is still guilt-ridden over the bloody crime that traumatized his small town and tore his family apart. A stranger moves into a beloved victim’s house, and old emotions come bubbling to the surface. He cannot afford to turn down the alluring owner’s odd jobs though. That is the only way he can bankroll the search for his long-lost brother. Working alongside the beautiful woman. Ryker starts to feel her kindness melt his hardened heart to make room for love. After her grandma’s death, down-on-her luck artist Ana lost her only family in the world. She inherited property in Colorado and hopes the move could be her chance at a new beginning. She hires an ex-con to help whip the house in shape, and must decide whether to trust the small-town gossip or what her heart is telling her. She has forgotten her past. and his mistakes haunt him. We will see if their love can survive the painful trust behind a shared tragedy. – I did not initially like Ryker. He had a touch life that made him bitter, angry, and hateful. Ana was just what he needed. She brought out the good in him. The development of their friendship and love was entertaining, and I loved their neighbor Mona. Ryker’s friend Nate and Ana’s friend Grace were also good characters. This is an interesting story.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI haven’t been a huge fan of MC romances, however Redeeming Ryker is an incredibly moving story about loss and redemption. Ryker is living with deep regrets and inconsolable anger with one tender memory that keeps him human in the midst of a life lived in brokenness. Ana has no recall of her early life when her parents died and her grandparents made a home for her. As an artist she is struggling to make ends meet and when it seemed that she had reached the end of her rope, her grandmother died making her realise that there was indeed further she could fall. However, a surprise legacy from her grandmother takes Ana on a new path in life and there she meets Ryker. I loved both these characters and their undeniable attraction for one another. They both struggle against the attraction they feel, without success. Just as destiny has brought them together, so they are fated to fall in love. Whether any good comes of it, remains to be seen. I loved the secondary characters: Mona, Grace, Nate and Silas. Each one had their part to play and the story would have been incomplete without them. The dialogue is hilarious and I loved the wit and banter. However, it is also a deeply emotional story with so much pain that at times it seems that there will be no resolution to their sorrow. I highly recommend this book, provided the reader is over the age of 18. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy Ryker and Beautiful broken Ana
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseYears ago the small town of Fury was ripped apart by tragedy and a lot of people lost their lives. Ryker is a broken man, one of the few survivors, blaming himself for everything.
Ana is a woman down on her luck, has no money, is about to be kicked out her her apartment and her only family, her grandmother has just passed away. Fortunately her luck changes and she finds out her grandmother has left her a house in the small and unknown town of Fury. Ana having nothing to lose packs up and leaves for her new life in her new house.
Ryker and Ana can't help but cross paths in such a small town, but it turns out they have a lot more in common than they know.
Ryker and Ana start a soon start a hot romance but not everything as it seems and Ana's whole world turns upside down when she realizes she's not who she though she was.
Without giving anything away that's all I'm saying. Ryker was made for Ana and it's nice to see a bad boy tamed by a good woman. This was a great read,a real page turner and I'm excited for the second installment in the The Boys of Fury!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pain can lead to redemption
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI really enjoy MC romances and this is a good one. i love the characters and the plot. This is a great tale of redemption.
There is a lot of loss for Ryker and he fights his way through. He is living with pain anger and regrets and in the beginning is not particularly likeable as the plot develops and he finds himself his light starts to shine through.
Ana has also suffered, she did not think she could fall further but when her grandmother dies she is truly lost.
Ryker and Ana fight there felling but are destined to be together.
This is a well written roller coaster of emotions with great main and supporting characters.
i recommend this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars A well deserved happily ever after.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe story really does have redemption. Poor Ryker and Ana have known pain and hardship. Ryker’s story twisted my heart! ( I think because essentially it’s the truth for many foster children). Such wonderful characters, that you are invested to keep reading the series.
