    Arseny is a Mafia killer. He's sitting in his car thinking and a young woman jumps in.

    Essie didn't want to be under her father's rule and marry a terrible man. She runs off to a man in a car and they take off. She discovers he is mafia just like her father. Arseny says if she signs a contract to work for him he'll keep her safe

    Well that contract went out the window. The gear between these two are off tge wall. Hayley write fun, exciting and fast moving books. This is a book you must read.

    The storyline is interesting and lot’s of mystery. Essie falls in love with Arseny , who saves her from being married to the Persian mafia. I enjoyed reading about the other characters in the previous series.

    Arseny's book!

    If you've been reading this series, that's all I have to say to entice you. If you haven't, well, you don't want to miss this one. It can easily be read as a standalone. You might feel a little lost in the beginning but just keep reading. I even had a little difficulty falling back into this world, but it doesn't last long.

    I don't know if this is anyone else, but when a new character pops up, I like to keep a small tab on them. What do they say? How do they act? Do I want them to have their own story? First impressions are a real thing in reading.

    In one of Arseny's first appearances, he causal mentions that he's going to sate himself with two women. It instantly screamed ladies' man, and it's always fun to watch them fall. Actually, I wanted to see him commit some pretty grievous errors. If it caused some serious emotional harm, I'd be extremely happy.

    Almost all of the heroines in this series yearn to be free, and Essie is no different. At 18, she just wants to be left alone to do her own thing. A chance meeting with Arseny gives her the opportunity she's been looking for to escape.

    I don't think it's so much the story that makes this book a 4.5 star read. It's the stubbornness on both of their parts. They fight the inevitable. They fight each other. They fight anyone who tells them different. They're fighting the same fight, but for two completely different reasons. When they finally yield to the fight, it just makes the ending that much sweeter.

    I thought this was underwhelming. There was a build up to a scene that was just poof! All ok now. None of the action described.

    This was a great 5 star read. Once I started I couldn’t put it down, I read it in one sitting.
    Arseny is shocked when a woman jumps into his car, for some reason he wants to help her.
    She agrees to a contract with Arseny, she will do anything to get away from her father. Only problem is, Arseny has a strong attraction to her.
    Will he give into his desires and break the contract? Will Essie give in to Arseny? Will she get her freedom like she desires?

    Overall this was a great read. Essie was great, she may be young but she wasn’t afraid to stand up for herself. Loved it when she would push back on Arseny. And Arseny, he was not used to women rejecting him, it attracted him even more. The author does a great job with her writing and you are pulled right into the story. I can’t wait to read more from this series. 1-click and get started today on this great read.

    Crime/mafia, age-gap, convenience marriage, romance.

    Young girl runs away because her father is forcing her to married. She just turned 18 and she desires freedom, something her father has denied all her young life. Arseny (killer) meets girl when she jumps in his car, and that's where their story begins.

    Promise and contract is made, Essie will get what she wants, her freedom for a prize (selling her virginity, body). At first she rejected his proposal to be his, and he didn't took it that well. Eventually, this changes and she marries him and things start to change between them. Danger, however, it's lurking for them and things happen before they reach their HEA.
    Interesting storyline about two strangers who end up together by a moment fate (unexpected meeting). 3.5 ⭐.

    I must say that I love me some Bratva men.
    Arseny really had me questioning my feelings for him. At first I really liked him. When Essie jumped into his car to avoid being married off to an unkind man , Arseny helped her run away to SoCal.
    Then he decided that he had strong feelings for her and wanted to make her a proposition. When she rejected this proposition. He turned into a spoiled little boy. He was hurt and rejected and he has never felt that way… poor Arseny lol. (This was the time I didn’t care for him too much) bad Arseny!
    Then something happens and she decides to take him up on a different offer. Good Arseny. !
    But then something terrible happens and he realizes his feelings for her.
    It’s a really great testament to the ability of Hayley Faiman to create characters that we can fall in love with, hate and forgive all in the same book.

    I loved Arseny and Essie. The story was fast paced but had something about it that made it seem like forever in a good way. Arseny was so protective from the start and that made me love him so much for Essie. She deserved something good and she got it in him, even if he tried to fight it some. I loved all the secondary characters and the author made me want to see a few get HEAs, main one at this time in Lada. I am show intrigued by her character, and what we seen her go through in this book. I would love a full book on her to learn her past and see her future. This author never fails to pull me in and I can’t wait to see what her next book brings. 5 stars #2OCCJD

    Arseny and Essie. What to say. So much emotion. So much drama - it’s everything Id expect and want from a mafia romance and the usual high quality page turner from Ms Faiman in particular. Even if you read no others in the series I’d really recommend this one!
