Rescuing the Single Dad: (Sweet Contemporary Texas Hill Country Romance) (PAWS for Romance Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 380 ratings

Will Erin and Jason find their "forever homes" in each other's hearts?

As the director of PAWS, Erin Pearson stays busy helping stray and surrendered pets find their forever homes. The private shelter was the life’s work of her beloved grandmother, but when a huge donation to a new building project is embezzled, Erin fears the scandal will be the end of PAWS.

The drive from San Antonio up to the beautiful Texas Hill Country to adopt a dog for his daughter is nothing more than an inconvenience for single dad, Jason Blaine. That is, until he meets the lovely director of PAWS. When Erin later asks for his help in tracking down the consultant who made off with the donation, Jason couldn’t say no even if he wanted to. Erin is sweet and down-to-earth … everything his late wife wasn’t. But he also knows his wealthy in-laws won’t hesitate to sue for custody of their granddaughter if he starts dating again and not devoting every spare minute to being a dad.

Can Jason and the Pearsons track down the missing money in time to save PAWS? Caught between the fear of losing his little girl and the hope of a promising new romance, will Jason allow Erin to rescue him, too, even though he only has two legs instead of four?

♥ If you enjoy sweet small-town romance, with cute pets and swoonworthy kisses, you'll love this first story in the PAWS for Romance series.

Author's Promise: This is a heartwarming contemporary romance with a “happily-ever-after” ending. It’s a sweet story with nothing more than hugs and kisses. ♥

I enjoy writing sweet and wholesome contemporary romance, where love triumphs over the busy lives and multitude of problems my characters face every day. The first five titles in my PAWS for Romance series--"Rescuing the Single Dad," "Catering to Love," "Healing Two Hearts," "Gifting Love," and "Acting in Love"--are available now, along with an ebook box set.

I also have two novellas in a new series, Second Chance at Christmas. The couples are Jessie & Rick and Courtney & Austin. Buy their stories (or read them in Kindle Unlimited) whenever you're looking for a sweet, second-chance holiday romance.

I hope you'll enjoy reading these stories as much as I did researching and writing them. Be sure to visit my website to sign up for my newsletter to be notified when each new story in the PAWS or Second Chance at Christmas series is released.

I'd love to hear from you! You can reach out via my website or find me on Facebook or Threads. See you soon!

Rescuing the Single Dad: I loved all the animals and how well the family business was run. They do well matching families with the different animals. Then a father came in to adopt a dog for his daughter he didn't realize the extent you have to go through to adopt a dog for Maddie. Jason took the application with him but the beauty behind the count he could forget. She intrigued him. It was a wonderful story!

The story itself was good. But for me, the best part was that I was not frustrated by grammatical errors, spelling errors, usage errors that I have become accustomed to, even in books in print these days, even books that supposedly have an editor.

There was a mystery, but it was not a murder mystery. I know that murders do happened, and all too often, but there are other kinds of crimes, and it was good to have something else happen. The characters are all believable, and they are people who I would like to know.

This book was a clean read, but could have been so much more. The attraction between the 2 MCs seemed lukewarm, while the financial problem was solved relatively easily. The most drama came from the friction between the single dad and his in-laws.
