    Christ on a cracker! There were so many OMG, WTF, and Oh no he didn't moments that I don't even know where to begin with this one! Just when you think this series can't take another turn, the author throws another twist right into the mix.
    Rafe and Isa, after discovering a new piece to the puzzle, return to where it all began - Chicago! Think you had it all figured out at the end of book 2? You're in for a surprise lol! There were so many things I did not see coming and new wrenches are thrown in that take the story in a whole other direction!
    This series just gets better with every book. The push and pull and the fiery romance between Rafe and Isa ramps up even more in Until Retribution Burns. I love Isa and her growth has been phenomenal thus far, but I feel like we still are waiting for that one moment where she emerges as the queen she is and shows her true power to those seeking to destroy her. I want to see her step out of Rafe's shadow and show that she's not just his little woman kept at home from harm. I want to see her protective instincts and that fiery temper come out in the face of their enemies.

    Can we, just for a moment, talk about Rafe?!?! At first, I was like he's so jealous and possessive (insert starry-eyed stare) but I think we've moved WAYYYYY past that now! This man gets better and better! He will gladly punish or kill anyone that touches, wrongs, or hurts his woman be it friend or foe. He wants to stamp his ownership on every inch of her body and in every way conceivable so that anyone looking at her knows exactly who she belongs to. Oh wait, it doesn't end there. He ALSO wants HER to stamp HER name on every inch of HIS body so anyone looking at HIM knows exactly who that delectable body belongs to! *Swoon* He's unapologetic about it and at times he takes it a bit far. Still, he recognizes his faults and doesn't hide his true nature. And if there was an Olympic sport for the smexy times, this man would win every freak gold medal available! This series has hands down some of the HOTTEST freaking scenes I have ever read! Adelaide Forrest deserves her own gold medal for thinking this stuff up!

    I am both excited and terrified to see where she will take us in book 4!

    Until Retribution Burns, book three of the series. At the end of book two, we found that the nightmares both Isa and Rafael had lived were both born of the same evil... Rafael's father. The mystery shrouding Rafael's father throwing Isa into the Chicago River when she was five years of age is the center focus of their lives and the layers of humanity that are being peeled away. Deeper secrets are finally revealed as more pieces on the chessboard are moved.

    Throw in the mix Mateo Bellandi and everything he brings to the table and Isa's family, namely her b*tch twin. However, having her in the storyline tips the scales in the "war" Until Death Do Us Part.

    I really liked books one and two. I enjoyed how over the top Rafe was in the beginning. In fiction, overly jealous and possessive heroes ( or antiheroes and villians) can be a lot of fun. My satisfaction from this type of main male character comes from his devotion and hopefully the strength of his counterpart, the heroine. In the ones I enjoy, he is controlling but she is strong enough to stand up for herself and he loves her enough to pull back on those tendencies. In this series, I knew there was an imbalance of power but I just knew once Isa and Rafe had developed feelings and respect for each other there would be a power shift so that Rafe was only the ruling party in matters of business and the bedroom. Yeah, that never happened and now I am fairly certain it won't. Isa had absolutely no agency and no recourse (other than death) in which to ever make her own decisions again. She was strong and stood up to Rafe but it didn't matter because he always controlled everything she did. She couldn't leave and he wouldn't take her feelings into account. She wasn't even allowed to have feelings that he didn't like without him going old testament. Frankly, it was too much for me. I remember having a similar opinion to the first book in the Bellandi series but to a lesser degree (plus my expectations were lower so I liked it more). I did like the plot and am intrigued to see how it will play out but I am not rooting for Isa and Rafe. I think she should run far far away ( though Rafe has made that almost impossible). I do think this book will appeal to a lot of readers and they will probably love how over the top Rafe is.

Great read, the writing is brilliant & the characters are intriguing. I love this series and I’m so eager for book 4 but at the same time I don’t want the series to end 🙁

    This series just gets better and better. I love how Isa steps up and grows a backbone to her family and friends especially to her sister. We get a glimpse of their pasts and how they were always destined to meet. Their love for each other is all consuming but they will never leave each other as their love is too strong. Can't wait to jump into the final book and get their conclusion.
