This book is so many truly wonderful things all wrapped up in one, and delivers so many emotions that I truly couldn't put it down. I. Was. OBSESSED!
It is a coming of age story about an 18 year old dancer trying to find herself and make sense of all of the many chaotic things happening around her: A boyfriend dealing with so many deep-rooted issues. Parents who don't support her dreams. Friends that are superficial. And, most importantly, the interested and intense eyes of a sexy drummer.
It is a story about found family. About the family you choose when your biological one fails you. About the support systems you can gain from folks outside of your family that often are just what you need to survive.
It is a story about intense and real true love. Young love. Dangerous love. The sort of love that is all consuming. The sort of love that becomes the most important thing... the sort of love you fight for.
This book was such a joy to read. It featured such lovable characters all around and I adored all of them... Particularly all the boys in the band. Each of them felt so grounded and were so supportive of Lyra. I just wanna get caught up in a giant group hug with them.
The chemistry between Lyra and Cayson was ELECTRIC from the moment their eyes met, and the initial will they-won't they was so fun to read... Their sex scenes were delicious and so full of care and love. I adored how their relationship grew throughout the story and I gotta say that I need more from them! I wanna know where they end up. I wanna see them years from now, still in love and running their own little world. I need it. Gimme!
There were some errors scattered throughout the book, but honestly it did not detract from my absolute obsession with this book! We're all human and even the biggest authors with the biggest publishing houses behind them have errors in their books. So I never get irritated by that.
I will absolutely be picking up more books from Sabrina in the future and can't wait to see what other tales she weaves!
