The Right Guy: A steamy best friend's brother romantic comedy Kindle Edition

4.0 out of 5 stars 285 ratings

She came for margaritas and maid of honor duties, not a hot midnight rendezvous with Mr. Way Off Limits.

I only went to the psychic to shut my best friend up. But when the woman starts rattling off personal details she shouldn’t know, and tells me I’ll meet the one within two weeks? I start to wonder.

Then I step out of the tent and lock eyes with a man. Ocean-green eyes. Tan. Tall. Sexy as heck. Let's just say the universe delivers.

Too bad it’s Jake Harrison, my best friend’s older brother and walking proof that charm and commitment do not mix.

Sure, Jake is sexy. Infuriatingly easy to talk to. And suddenly everywhere, thanks to this joint bachelor-bachelorette weekend in Cabo.

But I know his type, and I refuse to be another fling. No matter how much my heart wants to believe he could be the one.

Jake Harrison might be the biggest risk I’ve ever taken, or the best mistake of my life.

The Right Guy is a sexy best friend's brother contemporary romance. This book is a standalone, full-length novel.

This is a cute, sweet story with adorable characters, though I wanted to bonk both of the main characters in the head more than once and ask, ‘what are you doing?’ Though the BFF’s big brother trope is usually not so believable, this one was a little more plausible, as his family was also the closest thing she had to a family. It is understandable that she would be afraid of screwing up those relationships.

I loved the relationships between all the characters. Jake, the chef, was a special favorite.

I loved the romantic setting. The story was fast-paced and had quite a bit going on. I loved the HEA ending. This is a very sweet story with fun, appealing characters. I hope the author is planning stories for some of these secondary characters. I look forward to reading more of this author’s work.

The Right Guy: A Romantic Comedy--R
    Violence: none
Language: fewer than 75, including deity and some crass phrases
    Sex: yep. Easily skipped.

Ugh. Male genitalia as attraction meter. I did not expect that in this book. The other thing is, sex is pretty casual. Last 5-8% is an ad for another book.

I received this ARC and really liked it, a lot. Taylor is a skeptic about fortune tellers so when one tells her things no one knew she paid a hefty fee for her future. Taylor wanted to know if she will ever meet the right guy for her so when Kosmic Kandi tells her that the perfect guy for her wears a blood orange red shirt and had green eyes, she can't help question each guy wearing blood red orange shirts.
Every man wearing blood red orange shirt becomes fair game, but what about the green eyed hunk in front of her that wears all white. When Taylor's grandma passed away her bestfriends Ashley and her family took her in, and now that Ashley found her soulmate Taylor wishes for that too. Jake has been pinning for his little sisters best friend since she was sixteen, however everyone sees him as a playboy. Having vowed not to date her then he is left wondering what could have been, especially since she seems to maybe feel the same now. He always watched from afar, however jealousy and desire push him to seek her out. This is a story about true love and desire, its about going after what really want and taking chances. These two were destined to be together and both were given the punch they needed to finally admit their true feelings and take a chance together. This is a really sweet and cute story. A fun read!

I loved Jake, but Taylor kept making me mad, at how crappy she treated him at times. I loved how this book started and ended. It was a sweet and steamy read for the most part. Had a few good laughs as well. It was mostly a fun read. It would have been a 5 star, if a few things had happened in a little different order.

I have gotten hooked on Kate O`Keeffe as an author. This is another great example of her Rom com style of writing. A cute & funny romance without the need of heavy sex scenes. The characters are relatable and likable, and the story lines seem realistic. I have read 8 or 9 of her books lately and look forward to the next. Highly recommend her books for any rom com book lovers.

This book was super cheesy and a little childish. It was a fun read but that's it.

Kind of I’ve been in love with you all this time but didn’t know until a psychic told me, until you looked at me like a snack.
It’s a good book if you want a quick and easy read, not heartache and no angst, very little spice, but not bad.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well... IDK

The theme of the story was interesting and considering all Taylor thought about Jake being a player, plus what the fortune teller told her I could see a reason for her dilemma. However, after all he told her about being in love with her since they were teens and answered all her doubts, the back and forth of "he loves me, he loves me not" kind of got old, too repetitive. There were other aspects of the story that could have been explored better.

“The Right Guy” is an all kind of amazing. Swoon-worthy story. And it’s hands down one of most charming things I’ve ever read. I smiled, laughed and swooned my way through the pages. The perfect book to get lost in and fall in love with on a cozy afternoon. I honestly loved this book and would definitely recommend

Love this author's work, but this book was a little too predictable. The 'will they- won't they' was tiresome after the 4th chapter. So sorry I really enjoy this author usually
