This book is pure romance! Amazingly perfect HEA, absolutely the sweetest book I've read this year.
This isn't the type of book where anything that can go wrong, does. This is the type of book that makes you have hope that real love still exists in a world of chaos. It's the type of book that leaves you with a smile on your face, and you finish the last page with a happy sigh. It's the type of book that can turn a bad day into a good one. It's that kind of book!

Dylan has just been called up to the NHL. His dream is finally coming true. And he owes it all to the unwavering support and love of his family and his long term girlfriend, Hailey. She is also pursuing her dreams of becoming a doctor. At a college on the other side of the country. Is it even possible to make a relationship work that far apart? Can the stay true to their dreams, while still being together?

This book isn't like most romance novels. It begins in the middle of their love story, after their relationship is established, but at a time when they are being pulled in multiple directions, each pursuing different dreams, making the tough decisions that come with becoming an adult. We don't get the first meeting, the first kiss, the first blush of love. What we do get is Dylan and Hailey as they embark on new journeys, opening new doors, figuring out who they are, together and apart. It's a beautiful story, and definitely shows "the rookie" in a whole new light!

I love Dylan and Hailey from Samantha Lind’s new book “Rookie Move.” They are a fun young couple who are very mature and know what they want out of life. They both have goals they want to achieve and they never let distance or work get in the way of their strong relationship.Their love for each other was refreshing and positive and it was a joy to see them so happy. They are a cute couple and I really enjoyed watching them navigate a long-distance romance.

Many characters and their families from her previous books are featured in her new book and I was thrilled to see that JC was Dylan’s mentor as well as his neighbor. He was the perfect person to help Dylan acclimate to a life in the NHL. All the wives and girlfriends welcomed Hailey when she visited and she fit in like she had been there forever, which eased Dylan’s mind when he had to leave for his road trips. Hailey would have plenty of people to count on if she needed anything.

Hailey dreaded going back to school after winter break and she hated missing Dylan’s games and time with his friends. Would this visit with Dylan be enough to get her through the spring semester back in California, or will the distance be too hard for her to handle? Can Dylan reassure her that they will be together soon no matter what happens?

I like the characters and the story. Why three stars? There was no conflict. Nothing to spice up the story and make it more than just a sweet little love story. I’ve read books by Ms. Lind before. This was definitely wasn’t her best effort.

From the moment I started reading this book I found a sense of familiarity, a story of high school sweethearts with hopes and dreams of a future that was easy to relate to. Like real life though, dreams don't always go as you think they will and in this story the main couple found themselves struggling to make their plans come to fruition. Theirs was a journey that ended up being full of twists and turns, decisions made that changed both of their futures, but ultimately love led them back to each other in a satisfying story from start to finish. It was a story that pulled at my heartstrings, kept me fully invested in their journey, as I watched them experience life and love.

Dylan and Hailey are an appealing couple, focused on their careers and their future as a couple. They're a formidable pairing who are determined to make their HEA together despite being on opposite coasts. While outside forces were determined to keep them apart they knew they were meant to be together and did the heavy lifting necessary to keep their HEA in sight. It made for a heartwarming journey full of sweet and sensual moments, a journey that could've been full of angst, but was instead full of heart and soul. It was a romance that renewed my faith in the power of love and had me rooting for this couple to get everything they wanted and deserved.

Though this book is part of a series it can stand strongly on its own courtesy of its appealing main couple, a couple who you can easily call friends. When it came to matters of the heart, I enjoyed Dylan and Hailey's sweet romance and the subtle ways they showed their love and support of each other. I wish though there had been just a bit more angst between them, something to keep me on edge and rooting even harder for them. This book at times felt more like an epilogue than a journey as I never doubted the outcome. Despite my small quibble, I still found this a quick and satisfying story, a story with a delightful and supportive cast of secondary characters. These characters often felt more like family and I'm now definitely left wanting to read the previous books in this series as these characters left a lasting impression throughout this book. Fans of sport's romances, and HEAs, will find this a satisfying addition to the genre and Ms. Lind a talented voice that has me looking forward to what she has planned next.

This is the 9th book in this amazing series. Dylan and Hailey are high school sweethearts, as well as being career driven, and they are firmly committed to each other, with their lives planned out. However, the reality has their careers going in different directions, and them both juggling a long-distance relationship, and the push and pull of struggling to keep each other’s dream alive. This is a beautifully written story which is entertaining, fun, romantic, sweet, heartfelt, and with family, and friendships, which all leads to a humorous, and all-consuming tale, which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hailey and Dylan, are great additions to the Indianapolis Eagles family!

"He's my lobster, my person, my soulmate".

Samantha Lind has produced some gritty swoon-worthy stories throughout the Indianapolis Eagles series. But with 'Rookie Move', Ms. Lind gave us another angle to a hockey romance, that of 20-year-old Dylan, the Rookie, getting his chance at the big time and how you combine that with the girl that you have loved since you were 15 who is also chasing her dream of one day being a doctor. And for me, she nailed this dynamic perfectly. I felt honored to read Dylan and Hailey's story of young love, coping with being far apart, and the maturity they both had. Oh, and don't get me wrong it has also the sizzle we come to expect from a Ms. Lind story.

Hailey and Dylan, are great additions to the Indianapolis Eagles family!
