Liz Hedgecock grew up in London, England, did an English degree, and then took forever to start writing. After several years working in the National Health Service, some short stories crept into the world. A few even won prizes. Then the stories started to grow longer...

Now Liz travels between the nineteenth and twenty-first centuries, murdering people. To be fair, she does usually clean up after herself.

Liz’s reimaginings of Sherlock Holmes, her Pippa Parker cozy mystery series, and the Caster & Fleet Victorian mystery series (with Paula Harmon) are available in ebook and paperback.

Liz lives in Cheshire with her husband and two sons, and when she’s not writing or child-wrangling you can usually find her reading, messing about on Twitter, or cooing over stuff in museums and art galleries. That's her story, anyway, and she's sticking to it.

This kindle e-book novella was $0.99 from Amazon

As a Sherlock Holmes fans and Liz Hedgecock being a favorite author I had to buy this novella.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson are approached by Scotland Yard to 👍 help with the investigation of a murdered woman 🚺. They are successful in their investigation leading to the arrest of the killer.

I would recommend this novella and author to 👍 readers of British 🏰 mystery novels and fans of Sherlock Holmes. 2024

221 Baker St. Mr. William “Sherlock” Scott Holmes (Scotland Yard consulting detective) & informed Dr. John Hamish Watson (husband, Sherlock's BMF, MD, author/writer) about Marcia Mary Le Fanu (Irish/ Huguenot, spiritualist medium).
She was found dead this morning.
Grosvenor Terrace London, England. The parlour maid Sarah let Mr. Holmes & Dr. Watson in.
Inspector Gregson mentioned Sir Geoffrey Carlton (patron) & he was interviewed.
In Mary Le Fanu she clasped tightly a scarlet rosebud.

Madame Paretski had accused Marcia of fakery.

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written Sherlock Holmes (short story) book. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge description list of unique characters, settings, facts etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great Sherlock Holmes movie, or better yet a mini-TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is an extremely easy rating of 5 stars.

This author has captured the soul of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This is an awesome short story - and I love well-written short stories that imply, in my opinion, the author has talent. Solve the mystery before Holmes and Watson, if you can.

I am fan of Sherlock Holmes since I was a kid, so this was quite nice surprise. I like how this author has create the case and how it was solved by Holmes; like always very precise and very explainable 
Since this was my first read from this author, I will check other titles and hopefully read some more interesting short stories.

Modern language used in an attitude of deductive reasoning and Sherlock-style mystery and manner.

Clever approach to a murder with elements of fraud and paranormal aspects.

    Fun, exciting and amusing read!
