Rough (Operation Justice Force Book 2) Kindle Edition
Mason can admit that he’s had the hots for rough and gruff Gage Hillcrest for well over a year now. Only Gage is bossy and overbearing as all hell. Not to mention that Gage is a closed book and Mason doesn’t know anything about the man.
Gage has wanted smart mouthed and sexy, Mason Taylor since he first laid eyes on him. But the two of them are like oil and water. Mason is wild. And well, Gage is not. Mason also has a big house and more money than he’d ever need while Gage is drowning in debt.
When Pegasus is asked to help the local police find a missing undercover officer, the unit leaps in with all hands on deck. Lives collide when they roll out on the mission and Mason finds out that Gage needs aid taking care of his family. Of course, Mason jumps in to help.
As the pair grow closer, life gets more complicated when Gage’s son goes missing. With loved ones in jeopardy, Pegasus will do everything in their power to find the little boy and recover the missing undercover cop before it’s too late.
Because in the end, it’s all about family and taking care of those in need.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2022I have never been disappointed with a story series so far. I enjoyed the beautiful love between two people who have the most respect, brotherhood and watch each other sixth when on an operation. Operation Justice Force depicts the love and challenges between Gage and Mason. Gage was struggling trying to be a father figure for his son, niece and young brother. He was trying to get sole custody of his son but the cost was really hurting him financially. He had an instant attraction to Mason, but Mason was rich and he didn’t want Mason to think he only wanted him for his money. He tried to fight the attraction but Mason wasn’t giving up. Things started coming out in the open when Mason showed up at Gage house to give him a ride back to the job. Mason didn’t like where Gage was staying and didn’t want to leave the kids there in the neighborhood,so he called his housekeeper to pick them up and take them to his house. This is the beginning of really seeing where their relationship was going. Can’t wait for the next book. I recommend reading all the series it is worth reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2022Rough is the second Book in the Operation Justice Force seriesby Reese Knightley. This story Specifically centers around Mason and Gage. Mason comes from old money and is tired of being used for his looks and money. Gage is the exact opposite. He is fighting to get by, trying to raise three Kids while working for Pegasus. From the start they are attracted to one another but both keep pushing the other away.
This is a great follow up to book one. Its a wonderful combination of romance and action. it leaves you wanting to read more.
My only complaint is there is a shoot out scene that is spoken of after the fact that we never get to "See". With how well the author does action I would have liked to have read that scene as an actual chapter not an after thought.
I would recommend this book to those who love action and romance, however reading the first book before would be in your best intrest.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2024Loved Mason and Gage! Can’t wait to watch these two become a family and raise the kids. Looking forward to more.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2022I really like the way this author writes and her stories are always exciting, engaging, fun and romantic (with the MCs grudgingly giving in). I love how they fight most of the way to the HEA. Mason and Gage were so good at the "fighting the attraction" bit. I so enjoy these stories that have children in them because it humbles the "heroes" and makes them more human. I do wish Gage would have sought help sooner because false pride is damaging and I was on tenterhooks hoping the kids would be okay, but once he did the story became so much better. Love all these guys. Can't wait for Parker and Oliver. BTW, terrific, terrific cover, as are most of her covers, but this one, WOW.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2023This was a great sequel to The First novel. It is action-packed, a real Thriller. Everything you could want and a suspense novel.
I do have one comment; when having initial sex, it is good to use a condom. However, as the relationship expands and becomes exclusive, and both parties are known to be negative. There's no need to use condoms. And, it makes for greater intimacy when there is love involved.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2023This single dad romance was enjoyable as Mason and Gage got over themselves to actually give a relationship a try with one another. You could see the chemistry they had and that they fought hard to ignore it not only in the first book but this book as well. It was nice to see them wrapped up in a bow with their little family in tow.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2022I really enjoyed this book and all of the Characters and especially the action to get to their HEA! I like the way the stories by this Author flow effortlessly and realistically. Don't miss it!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2023Going into this I really expected to be wooed, not quite…
Reese has a whole universe to her series. This one didn’t click as well as most.
The beginning drags a little mainly because the way Mason & Gage are portrayed is awkward and doesn’t jibe right with the characters.
Mason is super rich, has 1 ex who stole from him, and therefore doesn’t trust anyone and refuses to consider another relationship. Gage is taking care of his family and financially failing, he’s doesn’t want pity or a hand out and keeps his family and custody battle secret. But 1 weird push and poof in blink Mason is bringing Gage & family into his home and Gage is excepting the help.. which is IMHO is how it should be if not for the fact that it is the total opposite of the set up to their perspectives. Gage ex wife- her story makes Gage really unsympathetic. Once they come together, there’s a complete 360. The chase to find a missing cop, team interaction, Mason & Gage exploring their attraction & working together. The banter and camaraderie is so much fun. When everything comes together it’s all that and a bag of chips

4.0 out of 5 stars Wieder gut abgeliefert

5.0 out of 5 stars fabulous story
I loved book one of this new spin-off, but this book had me enthralled from page one.
Two good men, drawn together and working to save an undercover policeman, then working toward their lives and their families’ together.
Loved it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid story with good characters
3.5*. rounded up
Mason and Gage are a case of opposite attracts. They don't want to like each other but can't avoid the pull. Mason doesn't want committment, Gage can't afford it with his family life. But both realise they can't stop it.
I found Mason caved in too fast but then for him it's the ultimate solution to take care of Gage's issues and off he goes. Both guys are likeable characters, their chemistry a bit fast but then, it's not an instant attraction, it just took it's time.
I would have loved more background for both Mason and Gage, both their pasts should have left more issues/scars than described.
While there is not a lot of overlapping between the series, the interconnecting world makes it sometimes difficult to remember who's who.

5.0 out of 5 stars Once again, AMAZING!!!
Contains: coworkers, poor/rich, violence, family value, family drama, mission to find love... or um the cop.
Reese strikes again, right on target. The balance between romance and action is its greatest strength. Normally, I love very descriptive action scenes and unfortunately, I would have loved to have this last scene. But I still have hope to find this scene in the next book??? Please *sad cat eyes*
Despite the last non-descript scene, the mystery is on point, they follow the tracks to lead to the missing cop. In the meantime, there is the problem of the custody of Gage's son. Although no one knows about Gage's family, they are all there when needed without question. Suspicious.
Dive into this book and discover romantic scenes, family scenes, friendship scenes and most of all action at will. I love it as always!!! The next book can't come soon enough.

3.0 out of 5 stars Need to read from the very start of the first series
Not too bad a story but as the 2nd book read by this author, have found all the different characters randomly thrown in, too confusing. A heap of names, connections and back stories assumed by this stage and can't be read easily as a stand alone series. Had to look up to find that there are a few series' before this. Will start from the first and see if it holds my interest to get back here to finish off this series.
