Personally, Amo is one of a few authors that as soon as I pick up her book I finish it the same day. It’s hard to put the world she provides us down.

I love this series and I have love for every character she has given us. However, I always relate more to Tillie’s character being that she hadn’t grown up with money and she knew what real life struggles consisted of.
This book showed us an evolution of character.
Madison was our spoiled brat.
I felt like this book humanized Madison. I loved her character but I couldn’t relate to her journey in the beginning of the series.
Here in Ruined Castles we see her trying to cope with loss, heartbreak, we see her struggles with her toxic coping mechanisms, we get to feel her pain as she try’s to heal from sexual assault. She is broken down to the point of no return, but it’s in that super gut wrenching moment she wants to end it all that we see her truly start her journey of healing. When Madison describe her numb, yet deep feelings I understood her completely. The raw and painful reality was in some ways comforting to me. The connections she made with every character in this book were beautiful but something about her and Grace, ugh!!!!!
It was very few moments they spent together but when those two had dialogue together it gave me all the feelings. It moved me how two bad ass women came together. No matter the damage, pain, or the type of demons they were dealing within. They understood each other without even having to use their words.
I can’t even fully describe how much I appreciated this book. It made me tear up, smile, hold my heart, hold my breath, breathe, and it made me feel… just feel. 💕
I once told author Runyx that I had always found music a form of therapy because the lyrics or even the simple melody could put into words shit I couldn’t process within my life experience’s. However, I’ve found that special authors also help me cope through the characters they create. Amo did her thing, and what a beautiful ending to this generation. On to the next portal of a world and characters she will create.
