First, I received a free advance review copy in exchange for an unbiased review.

Trying to prevent too many spoilers, let me mention that all the action in this novel is ground based, so if you like exploding spaceships, adjust your expectations. This was another wonderful chapter in the Empire of Bones saga. Terry's books are such a good read that, as usual, I seemed to reach the end of the book too soon. I'm anxiously waiting for the next one already.

Overall, I thought this was a great novel. My only problem with it was how our heroes are handicapped against dealing with a technologically inferior foe (reminded me of Weber's third Dahak book, and most of his Safehold series - in a good way, and GRRM - not in a good way). I'm hoping that the seeds the author planted for the protagonists to regain some of their advantages bears fruit QUICKLY in the next novel.

If you've made it this far in the EoB series, you'll undoubtedly buy this and subsequent novel in the series. If you haven't read the EoB books before, buy them all right now and binge. You'll love it.

The continuing story line was great. Definitely enjoyed the almost medieval/apocalyptic twist that the group was thrown into. I thought the perspective of the different characters was interesting but wasn't sure who the main character of the story was supposed to be. A little confused about that. I also felt like the characters had a bit too much self doubt or too much description of doubt.
Overall it was a great read and can't wait for the next installment. Hopefully not too long of a wait.

I have read this series since the inception, but sadly the author is no longer completing his story lines. I realize with the completion of the Terra story line, the series will need to come to an end, at least with this arc, but the author seems to be milking the series by adding what are actually minor conflicts into the arc to make it longer. There was actually no valid story point in landing so far from the destination, nor in adding so much conflict that serves no part in the continuing story, but simply serves to add unneeded conflict. I will not be buying any more books in this series until he actually moves the major story forward rather than adding minor obstacles that we know will be overcome.

Book11 and still a page turner. So good that I barely want to stop to write reviews! :-) Smart storytelling, complex interesting characters, vast scales of space and time with ancient high tech relics, and a quest to save the galaxy at all costs. All the gems of great SciFi!

Isaac Asimov covered 1000 years in Foundation with a trilogy. We're what, 5-10 years into this story, we're on book 11, and I don't know if there's an end in sight. Let's finish this in book 12 and do some prequels and sequels if necessary.

This series just keeps getting better and better. The twists in this book take it to a whole new level. I love this series and can't wait for the next book even though this one just came out few days ago. Thanks for writing such a wonderful series that's so fun to read and clean. Looking forward to the next book

The trek to the Imperial Palace full of new characters and challenges. Possibly a game changing pitfall in the effort to stop the AI. Not good ! What next..........

What a wild ride Book 11 and still going strong. The story really picks up the tempo from the first page to the last. A fast action ride to a uncertain future leaves you turning pages late into the night.
I was lucky to get a free advance review copy in exchange for my unbiased review and I have to say I enjoyed it so much I have purchased it today to keep it in my library as it will be read many times in the future.

I have received an advanced copy of this book, and I'll be damned if I didn't already read this thing twice!
Down on Terra, nothing is nice and everything is out to get our heros.
Having to bridge the distance to the vault is proving challenging and lethal - and I have no idea how they will make it.
This was a very engaging read in Terrys wonderful quality and I am looking forward for the next chapter in the characters lifes
