    The fourth and final book of the Alien Warrior Academy series is Ruthless. Elena, a human assassin, is a student at the Lokarian Academy training to defeat the Skrum (an insectile race that depletes planets of their resources.) Daryx is the Lokarian headmaster of the academy and the leader of the elite task force that will take out the Skrum queen. Elena is the only human and the only female on the task force which puts her at a disadvantage but Daryx is confident in her capabilities as a soldier. Daryx and Elena have a strong physical and emotional attraction to each other which is strengthened by the precarious situation they're facing. This book has action, suspense, and a satisfying conclusion to the series.

    I enjoyed Daryx and Elena’s alien-human romantic suspense tale. The story is emotion filled, passionate, and suspenseful. Vokarians protected Earth from a potential attack by the Skrum who wanted to mine Earth and its water resources. After the Skrum is beaten back, a select group of humans with a diverse set of talents and skills are sent to be trained on Vokar at the Lokarian Warrior Academy to help protect and defend Earth. This story picks up where the last book left off, the Academy has repelled a Skrum attack and are gearing up to infiltrate a Skrum hive. Elena is a human assassin which is why she was recruited to be trained at the Academy. Daryx is the Vokarian Head Master at the Academy. After Elena saves Daryx’s life (book 3) she is given a spot on the elite task force as a sniper. Daryx and Elena are intensely attracted to each other and trying to ignore the feelings. But feelings rarely stay in the boxes we try to shove them in. Add in proximity, high danger, and potential death and the results are combustible. The journey to their HEA is fraught with tension, missteps, danger, sabotage, and healing. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, good world building, and an engaging storyline as told through sweet moments, steam, dangerous situations, alien physiology and cultures, political machinations, fated mates, coincidences, painful pasts, missteps, and laughs. This was a good wrap up to the series.

    In book 3 Elena and Autumn steal a computer chip from the vault, Daryx had to make an example of them, so he expelled Autumn at the end of book 3. Book 4 picks up right where book 3 ends.
    Daryx is the Headmaster of the Academy and because of that he has to make the hard decisions. He didn't what to expel Autumn, now he has to discipline Elena. But he is rudely interrupted before he has a chance.
    Great ending (?) to a great series. I wsh Carter would get his own book.!

She gets placed on the task force to kill the swarm queen because she is super amazing and of course has to prove herself to the all male crew. Loved both of these strong yet vulnerable characters. Loved the action and drama, and of course the steam!!

    This book was a great ending to this multi-author world where the adventures at the academy has been wrapped up nicely. It’s always possible for spin offs with this series if the authors choose to do so. Just like all the other books, this one seamlessly picked up where the last one left off, just shifting the focus to different main characters. The overall story arc and plot of the Hive and the various traitors were all interconnected and we finally have a conclusion to that plot thanks to Elena and her Headmaster.

    I would highly recommend reading this series in order so the overall plot isn’t confusing since it’s all connected and follows a timeline. Great job to all the authors for coming together to create this series. It was done much better than some of the other multi-authored series I have read. I don’t remember see any conflicting or contradictory information or events and the books all flowed well together.

    I didn't enjoy this as much as the other three in the series. Some of the characters seemed off compared to the other three books. I know these all have different authors but this was the first that I could really tell it was a different author. The relationship between the two main characters wasn't satisfying to me. It felt rushed. The ending felt abrupt. Spoiler alert:

    And then they threw in a surprise baby? I love babies. I enjoy fictional characters having babies. But this did not make sense at all and was just thrown in there. Something that huge would have incredible consequences in this world. She would have to leave the academy. But that's glossed over and everyone is happy.

    Elena came to the Lokarion Warrior Academy. On Earth she was an assassin for the military. Now she is wounded, because she was in the line of fire for the headmaster Daryx during a Skrum attack. She wants to get on the elite task force in order to find the Skrum hive and kill their queen. Daryx supports her in this plan, since she saved his life. They withstand their mutual attraction in order not to endanger their mission. Besides he has lost all his loved ones to the Skrum and fears the same with Elena. And Elena had a very traumatic experience in the past and covered her heart in ice. Finally they both manage to put them past behind them and live their love.
    I enjoyed reading this book. It is fast paced, action packed and well written. The characters are strong and resourceful. I highly recommend this book and I am sad, that this is the last book in this series. Maybe someone gets an idea how to continue .....
