    A.L. Long did an excellent job ending this series. I'm sad to see them go. Ryan and Charlie are the sweetest couple and I love the intrigue that is inherently Jagged Edge. I loved each and every book in this series. I highly recommend them all.

    This is the eighth book in the "Jagged Edge" series and A.L. Long continues with great plot and character development! As I turned each page I felt like I was being pulled in deeper and deeper into Ryan and Charlie's story as it effortlessly unfolded!

    Ryan Hyatt and Charlie Winters are separated as teenage lovers when he joined the military and decided to push her away. Several years later, Charlie gets the opportunity to move on from her dead-end job, in Cedar grove to work as a bookkeeper for her brother in New York. Things are looking up until her brother runs afoul of criminals when he witnesses a murder. Now she must trust the man who broke her heart with her brother's life.

    This is a new to me author and enjoyed reading this book but in my opinion, the characters felt a bit one dimensional. I did not get a "feel" on who the character's were and what motivated them to do what they did. I also felt like I was being told a story versus it actually happening. This is probably due to the book being written in past tense instead of present tense (which I must admit that I prefer).. This aside, the book was interesting and easy to read. I just wanted to know so much more background on the main characters..

    The fact that I am not a fan of books written in past tense could have tempered my review. With this, I will definetly take a second look at this author's overall writing style before making any further judgements or recommendations.

    This is the first book I have read by this author. The writing style is very clean and easy to read, and the plot was done in a way that reels you in right away. While this is part of a series, and I am very likely going to be reading more now, you do not need to read the previous books in the series to understand what is going on in this one.
    The book features quite a few characters and a full plot with lots of twists, mystery, steamy romance, and action. Some of the series of events seemed to move quickly, such as how the characters were instantly in love and quickly moved on from fights, but overall a great read. I had a hard time stopping reading in fact!
    I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review through reading deals.

    This books is full of twists and turns I did not see coming. I enjoyed Ryan and Charlie's rekindled romance, ad well as tbe suspense of solving the mystery. OMG Josh!
